I'm sorry to hear about that. Maybe one day VMK will allow the trade windows to hold more items. Until then, I would not trade more than the trade windows allow.

This is exactly why they need to increase the amount of items able to be traded at one time. It's also why items should never be more "valuable" than what can be traded in one window.

I also do not do trades that require more than one window for one item unless it's with someone I trust implicitly.

Instead of increasing trade window size just re-release items and then value will come down and people won't be scammed as often!

Please be sure to use the 'contact us' section on vmk.com to report what happened. Even you if you don't get your items back, you should still report the trade.

As stated above, please use a CL to hold the item you are trading for if it involves more than one trade window. If the other trader is honest, they will be more than willing to wait while you arrange to have a trading assistant come to your room!

you need to contact vmk. THey have records of all trades. Next time, please have a CL present, there are a bunch on this board you could ask to be there. I'm really sorry rockstar!

I've always wondered, how on earth can leaders do ANYTHING about you getting scammed? They are normal players who are just recognized for their knowledge of the game.

Usually, a CL is an outside party and has no interest in the trade. They(generally speaking) would not want to lose their CL status by scamming either one or both of the traders.

What you do is have both traders trade everything to the CL and the CL then trades to the traders what they are supposed to be getting. It makes for a much longer trade, but, all three players can make sure that all items made in the negotiations are there and traded correctly.

i traded all my credits 40k for someone cdoes but they never gave me codes and they were dis if anyone is nice enough i would really like donations of anything i really do want the new chairs and pins and credits plz help me plz

Not to be rude or anything but all these scam stories are really getting out of hand on Dis. I could easily say that I got scammed on vmk for someone to please donate and try and get my items back.

You are better off reporting this person to the moderators and hopefully they can prevent this person from doing it to someone else. Seems like this might be another form of scamming or at the very least getting people to feel sorry for you and gift. The quest machine is not intended to trade credits, you should really know that you only trade credits with trusted friends or trusted members of Dis. Next time, check out the threads they have posted in and see if they've done transactions with anyone else and follow up.

I kind of have to agree. We seem to see so many of these kinds of stories, and really, everyone just keeps making these mistakes! Not trying to criticize anyone, but shouldn't we have all learned from other people's/our own mistakes? Anyways, here's one of mine

During my early days of VMK, my most rare item was probably Invisibility Magic. I wanted a Tiara very badly though, so I wanted to trade my Invisiblity Magic for a Tiara. I spent quite a bit of time playing fireworks, and so that was of course where I ended up seeking trades. (I usually didn't go into actual trade rooms, I was too new) After hours of asking around, someone finally agreed to trade me! I was so happy.

Then while I was wearing my crown one day, someone asked me to trade it for a Fireworks Level 3 Pin. I wasn't very good at fireworks, so I had never seen it. She told me it was a pretty rare new magic pin. So we traded, and I discovered that it wasn't a magic pin.

Well, I sure learned from that!

I know not everyone uses VMKPal but i do and when i am making a trade i am always taking a screen shot picture of everything that is going i have the i button open for the room we are in, i click on the other player so i have a shot of his or hers title or if i cant then i will write down that person's title and what room we are trading in to cover myself from this happening but always remember nothing is perfect

I was in a trade room today, and a girl wanted my Herbie hat and Crown for a bunch of junk. The only thing worth anything was the fireplace.I said I would trade her the crown only for all the stuff. She said ok and took out the fireplace, then put in Mickey Shoes. She said "they are so rare, like the most rare thing ever!" O____o I said thats not rare, and she exited the trade and told everyone in the room that I would take all their stuff.... o_o So no one would trade with me, so I left.

Moral of the story, DON'T TRADE WITH PEOPLE WHO WEAR GREEN SHIRTS AND PURPLE PANTS! =O

Like two days ago I was with my mommy online and we were at school. Which was her room. Then a guest said "traiding crown" and I wanted it so i traded it. I gave her two expensive chairs and three rare pins. She gave me a green hat and said "it turns into a crown" of course i was new and i didn't know. I told her "if you're lying I am going to report you. And when we swapped she left the room and i was so mad i ran around the room and crying for 20 minutes.

try trading a bird hat for the buyable red HKDL poster, a purple penny press, and i forget other thing. that was about too weeks ago and i been plain for about a year or so. That and then i traded full theatre for a cyan HK ship chair - was told it's high beta and no one has 1 -. comes to find out after traded it, i was told it's worth very little. i got extreamly mad at that person. then i am very lucky to find someone on dis that traded me full theatre for the cyan HK ship chair, it was very kind of him. not going to mention him tho - sorry. but i'm not trying to get sparrow, one of my friends said my offer is either worth the shirt and pants, or possibly the boots, hat and shirt. then another friend came in and said it's worth boots.
so now i way waaaaaaaaaaaay so confused. back to the scam, oh yea, already talked about that - it's at begginning. ty for reading this, i know it's so long but sorry.

ok one day i was playing in fin's quest and i won a black candle
the next day <name removed> wanted it and had a three room offer
i liked what was in it so i accepted
i gave to the leader and he gave first 15 items
THE HE BOOT AND DELETE ME OFF HIS FRIENDS LIST
THEN THE LEADER DID NOTHING ABOUT IT AND I REPORTED HAD ANOTHER LEADER WHO I TRUSTED
LOOK INTO IT AND REPORT AND THEN I TOLD FIN HULA AND LILY ALONG WITH CONTACT US AND YET
THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING AND IT HAS BEEN TWO OR THREE MONTHS

Ive been scammed twice. The first time soome boy came to my stitch offer and he said he would accept it. So i said put stitch in first trade window he said no ill put it in the next one and gave me a pin to trust him. I gave him a trade window full of meduim rare items. He then left my room and i don't even remember his title. The Seond time was similiar except a little better played out. This time i had what was left of my offer and i had added more. Once again a boy came and said he would accept my offer. i said i'd been scammed before and he had to put it in first trade window he said no ive been scammed before that way too. I said then we'll use a leader he said that he didn't trust anyone. So then he calls his friend to come ( which was probably him ) and he says he is not a scammer and that i can trust him. so ( being stupid ) i give him a trade window full of very rare items and he runs. The friend of his says oh no im so sorry i didn't know he would do that. I said he was going to help me find the scammer and he just left. I'm sure these people must have no hearts -_-

I havent got scammed yet, but people have attepted to. I've gotton the "red flips" thing, the not matching golden doors (I clicked them in the trade window to see if they matched), the "give me your maleficent hat and i'll give you stitch, bird or flip, when i asked them to show it, didnt show.", The i got scammed and lots all my pins *sad baby face* thing, And many others, just have to rethink everything and dont let anybody borrow your stuff. I've know that from day i started VMK after reading the values.

Boy: Give me your bird hat or I will report you!
Meh: Sorry, that won't go with me.
Boy: I'm yavn on my other account and I will ban you forever.
Meh: Go ahead, report me.
Trade closes, then back up.
Boy: Ok, I report you and VMK sent me a message saying that tomorrow they will ban you forever.
Meh: VMK doesn't send messages telling you that the person you reported was banned.
I close trade and continue with my trading.

It wasn't a scam but it was an attempted scam.

Yeah this happend to my friend, a boy came in and said are your pins for trade? he signature says no, so she said no. he said give me them or i report you! and the exact same thing happend.
