LoewsFirst card??

I would call the LoewsFirst number and talk to somebody there instead of the HRH manager. We stayed 8 nights using the Stay and Play offer last November. Not only did I verify with LoewsFirst that it was a qualifying rate, we were also upgraded to a villa suite at PBH and received all our amenities. We had two garden view rooms booked on the stay and play rate and via platinum status, were upgraded to the two bedroom villa suite.

Although we are APH holders and didn't need the tickets, we purposely used the Stay and Play rate because it was a qualifying rate. Since it was a holiday period, it was only a few dollars more than the APH rate, so the few extra $$ per night was well worth getting the suite.

The problem I had was because I booked it off the Universal website, not Loews. They consider that a 3rd party booking.:confused3

It shouldn't be considered 3rd party, IIRC even when you try to book on the Loews website, it transfers you to the Universal website. If I were you, I would call the Universal booking number & ask to speak with a manager if the reservation agent doesn't apply your Loews number.

The universal website connects you to the netbroker Loews website. They are one and the same. What kind of discount did you receive? It should have a name.

It was the stay 4 play free. I had already booked before I got the Loews card, so I called the number on the website to have them add my number. Thaey would not do that. Then, from the advice I recieved on these boards from yourself and others, I called the Hard Rock, and the woman ( I can't remember her name ) told me it was not a qualifing stay. I was quite frustrated, so I e-mailed the manager of the Hard Rock( whose name I got from a thread that I saw ), and he promptly got back to me and told me that although my stay was not qualifying, I would still get use of the gym, a welcome gift, and a newspaper. I did not want to argue with him, so I settled. If there is anything else I can try, please let me know. I will be there this thursday.:cool1:

I thought it was nice of him. :thumbsup2 His name was Chris Garcia, not Carlton. Does the name ring a bell ?

i know him, chris garcia is under carlton.
but chris can do things like that and help the guests with mummy dust

Chris Garcia is the Loews First Manager. Real nice guy! :thumbsup2

In his e-mail to me, it said he was a manager. Maybe Carlton is his boss. I don't know many people there, mostly bellman.

there are a few managers at each hotel and each also has a general manager who is on top of everyone.

if a manager tells you he will do something, he will so don't worry about not getting the amenities.

second thought, if they forget to give them to you, contact chris while you are still there and you'll probably get more perks.

when you check in make sure it is on your file you are to get the daily paper, gym privledges, and welcome gift. ask them to throw in "turn down service" for your family.

the maids leave a nice trinket on your pillow with a chocolate in the evening. they dim the lights in the room and have music on very softly.

I thought stay 4 play free was qualifying. What I would do is call reservations and ask and if they say it is, then send an email to the GM telling them you will be down soon and would like to get it settled.

loews first only good on loews hotels.

 I realize that the Loews First is for the Loews hotels. Someone had posted a while back that you could call Loews first and tell them you are a Hilton Gold member and Loews First would start you out as a gold member rather then a blue member. Basically matching your Hilton member status.

Yes you can do that. Loews has always been great about status matching with other programs.
