As Andrew has already said, Bank Holiday here in the UK today, so another day off work

AND, it's been raining for a few minutes.

Other than that I'm going to have a lazy day. I might even sell some things on Ebay today.

Jonesing, was thinking about you on Saturday suring dd's 2nd swim lesson at the Y. She is doing good and likes it even though she resisted at first. Sounds like you are doing well too.

At 4am this morning we recieved a call from the hospital informing us that my Father had died.

He would have been 87 on the 16th of this month. We're just thankful it wasn't a long drawn out ordeal for him.

Sorry to hear this. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

DS8's team lost 9-14. He struck out and walked 2x.
DS6 had a great game. He hit a legitimate stand-up double, but with the fielding skills at this age ended up with a home run! He also hit a triple & was awarded the first game ball! Not sure the score, but I think it was something like 27-19.

Now I'm watching Stanley Cup playoffs. Go Devils!

Tell ds just keep going! DD has started practice. Friday night and Sunday night and it was getting real cool Friday I had to go in my Jeep! DD's coach gave her a nickname "Mouth" hmmm wonder why?

Not only do I approve , but this should be the official bikini for the cruise ...

Great another added expense. Hire a model to wear the official bikini for me. See if Omar can pirate up my duds!

Captain, was at our 7-11 Saturday and what to they have sitting on the counter? Official POTC cookies! They were frosted with the skull and Capt Jack. I had to get one of the skull cookies. $1.49.

You know, when I saw that at our local JCPenney's several weeks back that was my first thought...my second was thought I would probably scare half the boat if I was to wear it...

Hello Everyone!

Sorry for the long abscence, working alot as we are short a few people (maternity leave) as well as many personal events.

Youngest DD made her first communion 2 weeks ago and this Saturday we have a formal party for her.

Andy! I'm so sorry Johnna told me that you won't be able to make the cruise. It's so sad. We here in NY were so looking forward to having a good time with you and your family. I'm still looking forward to putting together a small meet this August.

On that note: I need to get a list of DISers that would be interested in participating in a mini-meet this August. We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas and are very much looking forward to hosting another get together. Us and Jack will be there from the 19-30 of August.

I know Arlene has been keeping track of Vactioners that will be in the area at that time.

I miss all of you. Will try to post regularly. I even heard that BIP is BACK!

We will be in WDW in August so would love to meet up with you during that time. We will be in CBR from 20-Aug to 3-Sept-07.

I'm going to put those dates down on my calendar. That's about the time we usually go to Florida, the last summer fling before the school year starts. We also have to find out when Angelina will be having her Senior pictures taken. I think Hazel said it is scheduled for sometime in August, but I'm not sure of the dates. I haven't been in the Wilderness Lodge as of yet, so this would be a good excuse to pay a visit!!!

Andy, this thread wouldn't be the same without you!!! Of course we'd still have you!!! I'm sure it was a very hard decision for the Verandah family to come to and you all will be greatly missed.

I have to go to work today...next Monday is my last day for ever. I need to work about 1/2 the week this week. And at some point, I just need to decide what projects I'm just going to dump on my replacement!! I'm just not going to get everything done that I wanted to.

Yes, sad to say, we cancelled both cruises. With Angelina starting her first year of college on 9-2-08, Hazel and I decided we HAD to be here at home for that day.

But Andy! You see, it is al about US and WE want you to go!!


I'm joking. I am as sad about this news as everyone. I, like many, was so looking forwad to meeting you. I'll echo the sentiment that for many of us, you are the spirit of the DIS. Long before I 'met' you on this thread, you sent my kids postcards before our first cruise - simply because I asked. And just about the time I joined the DIS, I remember reading about your special relationship with a little DIS boy with medical problems. When he died, I anonymously sobbed along with you. All the things you did for him and his family really made me realized that I had stumbled onto a special place when all I was looking for was park hours and travel tips! It was years ago and I forget the details, but I remember the feelings.

I completely understand your decision. Maybe you could plan an alternate trip to DL, maybe...say...mid-August 2008?????????

That's the thing, I'm not an all eyes on me type. I'm not a rhinestone type. If I bought it, I would only wear it on TOAL. Maybe for the PIC deck party w/ a sarong - I don't think I'll be able to handle the tropics in Aug. in full pirate costume.

I am in total denial about how hot it is going to be on this TOAL.

It She Stopped competing around 15 and started teaching when she was around 17 - 18. She really hasn't been back on the ice for a while now and it's a shame. She is 32 now and I was thinking of getting her some skating time at the local rink. It helps her clear her head.

I throw on my figure skates a few times a year and goof around. It really does help clear my head, so I know what you mean.

I guess I'm too goal oriented. It isn't as much fun if I don't have something to work for. That's why I am playing much more hockey than figure skating.

Thanks to both of you! Tom as I was trying to do this last night before going to bed, I realized that you or someone else would complain about the lack of liquor stores. Todd, I realize that Google earth sometimes does not get the address label exact on the map. It was late and just trying to give Arlene an idea. Thank you for the correction.

It wasn't a complaint! I was just joking because I knew someone had already posted all the liquor stores on a map!
