The Food Was Not Undelicious: May 25-June 1, 2007!! Completed - Post #794

Loving your report! You're hilarious, girl! :lmao:

Oh, and can you please tell me where you ordered your champagne basket?

Plankton sent you a post card? That sneaky little bugger...he better not be threatening you or I'll have to leave him behind for Grimace to babysit in October. :lmao:

Or better yet, send him on a Western Caribbean Cruise with those crazy Konked Kruisers. That'll teach him!!:rotfl2:

We may have been seperated at birth. :goodvibes Although I won't tolerate a tomato in it's solid form in any way.

Add to the list a love of pickles but can't stand cucumbers & onions must be cooked never raw.

Never done mustard on pizza but potato chips add a nice crunch ;)

Brenda, your review is great as always! Can't wait for more! :wave2:

Crunchy onions.

I had an idea years ago to make a spray-on onion and pepper flavoring that could be put on pizza to make it taste like a supreme without that annoying onion/pepper crunch.
My ideal pizza would be a supreme with all the annoying veggies picked off for you before serving.

If any of you can make that idea work, you are welcome to it. Just send me free samples when it hits the stores. :thumbsup2

So far, so good! :thumbsup2 The gift basket/candy bar cake looked awesome! I bet Jason was surprised. :goodvibes I am now convinced we have to try Raglan Road... without the kids. ;)

Keep it coming! :dance3:
-Michelle

Slightest of hijacks, but sort of on topic:

I went to an Irish pub/restaurant here in NH just a scant hour or so ago. I went to take one of my kids to the restroom, and, though there were signs in English way high above the doors, the actual plaques on the doors were in Gaelic (as far as I know, I certainly can't be sure!)

The women's room said "Mna" and the men's room, "Fir". I think. But anyway, one of my sons was convinced that I was taking him into the men's room, since it started with an M and had three letters.

Just thought you might like to know... :)

Did I miss it somewhere? Those baskets are amazing. We are going in July and it will probably be our last big vacation together (my twins are going to be seniors in the upcoming school year so they most likely will be too busy working for college $$ next summer - I hope) I would like to do something silly but special for each of them to deliver to our room.

Loved the gift baskets! How nice to have a picture of you and Jay together with your anniversary basket. Did Plankton take the picture?

Hi everybody!! Hi, Dr. Nick

Great Jumping Horny Toads!! I came home from a 12-hour day at work where I somehow managed to accomplish absolutely nothing only to find all your responses...thanks for making my day a better one. :goodvibes

Hi Brenda!

Thanks for the update. I have to be quick, as I still have an in-law invasion , but yes, we had an awesome time at Raglan Road. Thanks again for the recommendation! (It will be Day 4 in my report, will do Day 3 tomorrow once the company's gone.)

Your treats look fabulous! Good work. C.E.

Hope you've survived the invasion - I will definitely have to go check out your report so I can see what your RR experience was like.

YOU ARE BACK!!!! woohooo

just in time Miss Brenda..to psych me up again for disney dining

Hi Gina!! Have a great trip and be sure to say "hi!" to Locomotive Breath!!!

Hoo yeah! Brenda's back, Brenda's back!! Just like during your last edition of food porn, (and booze porn! Woot!) I'm here at my computer snorting out my diet pepsi all over the keyboard and sharing random quotes with my husband:

'I wheeled around faster than you can say "I swear I'm not drunk" ':rotfl:

"Hey, I'm not the one who walked into the wrong bathroom." :rotfl2:

and of course,

"Stay off the West Side!!" :lmao:

Looking forward to lots more!!

Sonia

Uh, oh... do I need to issue a spew alert going forward? Thanks for reading Sonia, glad you're enjoying it so far!

How much did the basket cost? :rotfl2:

It's terrific! I bet he loved the candy cake; it's a great idea!

Ummmm...I'd have to dig out my credit card statement because I ordered it back in April. You can get a general idea if you go to the WDW Florist web site - they have a ton of stuff with the prices listed.

And the cake is so cute when it's delivered... there was no way the two of us could eat all of that so we ended up giving a lot of it to the front desk staff on our last day. I'm sure they needed the sugar more than we did. ;-)

Subscribing!!

Glad to have you along!

2 days back and already 7+ pages?!?!?!? :confused3

Good! :thumbsup2 I'll have some reading to do after these kids go to sleep! I'll be right back!

Hi Tracy! It's good to see you - I know you'll always have something amusing to add to the mix. Yeah...the number of pages has been something of a surprise to me considering that I haven't made it to the second day of the trip yet. But I love to hear from everyone - it makes this that much more fun, don't you think?

OMG Brenda! Those baskets look awesome!! I can just imagine how many arms and legs they cost you! I don't even wanna know!

They were really cool - I was very pleased with the result. And Jason didn't want to know how much they cost, either. ;-)

About the RFC, here's the post from my live trippie with pics from when we first ate there. It was SO good! I have another visit there planned for October 14th, so I am REALLY hoping that I am not disappointed.

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=10279361&postcount=66

Excellent - thanks for the link! I think their breakfast menu sounds pretty good...maybe we'll give it a try.

And you will not be disappointed - they wouldn't dare do that to Kira's mommy!

Looking forward to all the surprises!!!

Oh and YES!!! Happy belated Anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!!

It'll be our 8th anniversary during our trip in October! ... the baskets are a nice touch

Bonny

Hi Bonny! Happy early anniversary to you! Which day is the special one?

Love the surprises!

How much did you say that basket was? ;)

The basket was probably more than I should have spent... see the WDW Florist website for a general idea. ;-)

Brenda,
Your food report is great, my mouth is watering for the Raglan Road dinner....my DH and I vowed to never go back there again due to a double charged bar tab on our CC, but we may need to break that vow the next time we are there.
Can't wait to hear about the other surprises on your trip.
Thanks again for the great reports and everything else.:)
RC

Hi Jusmom! I can understand being miffed with RR, but their food was pretty darn tasty.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks to you for the other stuff, too!

Oh Brenda, you never cease to entertain! :lmao:

Too much to quote, so I'll just throw a few tidbits out there:

1. The men's room? That's fantastic! :thumbsup2

2. Love sundae breasticle shot! Very hot! :lmao: And I think DM (Disneyolic) and I are related, as I toggled up to look at the picture of you as I read the post, too! There's something very disturbing with that! :lmao:

Thank you, Tracy, that's high praise coming from you, 'cause you're twice as entertaining as me!

Sundae Breasticle... hahahahahahahaha!!!! As for the picture...how many people admitted to scrolling back up in my other TR when I mentioned that my mom didn't have any eyebrows? We're all a bunch of sickos around here. ;-)

3. Added mental note to remember to get a drink bucket. It sounds like an adult Happy Meal! (Hmmmm I need to rethink the dancing banana for this post, no?)

4. Love the baskets! Very sweet! :cloud9:

5. I do miss hearing about Grimmy! :guilty: How is she these days?

6. Yup, I'm a yellow mustard kinda gal, too. But you might try equal parts of mustard and ketchup. Very yum-o! ::yes::

Ok, I'll just sit and wait for the next installment! :surfweb:

I have actually written a note to myself so that we don't forget to go back in October and get a bucket o' booze.

Grimmy is doing well, thanks! But Jay and I decided that all the lovely little things that happened on this trip had to be due to the fact that we were in a "Grimace-Free Zone."

Thanks again for reading!!

Your report is wonderful. I love your writing style, its very entertaning:) . I'm looking forward to your review of Chefs de France as I'll be there in September.

Keep the amazing dining report coming.

Thank you so much; I'm glad you're enjoying it! We've tried Chef's a couple of times now (always for lunch) and it's always been great. Look for that review tomorrow if they let me leave the office.

Those baskets look fabulous! That's my kind of birthday cake!:cloud9: Good call on the champagne, too! Glad to see Plankton was able to make the trip. I'll be getting DS in on this report.

Hey Lori! Thanks for popping in. WDW Florist really did a nice job, didn't they?

Tell your DS that Jason will be working on a new Plankton video in the next couple of weeks and we will share it with the world once it's complete. Most of the Plankton pics will actually end up in the Shrubbery once I get that moving again, but there will be a few more here as well.

We may just end up doing most of our dining in Oct. at the food and wine booths! I keep finding these great drink pictures and e-mailing them to my husband, "Doesn't this look great?" and "We HAVE to try this in October!" So my parents and kids may be fending for themselves as DH and I roll around the WS!;)

I like your style! Remember, just rent the double stroller and you'll be fine!!

Woohoo, Brenda's back with another awesome tale of culinary adventures!! Just a thought hun, you might be well advised to post spew advisories at the top of your posts ... just as a public-service kinda thing, you know? ;)

Subscribing and can't wait for the next installment! :flower3:

I loved the baskets. I bet just as many people looked up the price to your basket as did going back to see Brenda cleavage. :lmao: I know I did. I swear your trip reports are number one on my list. Now I am off to find the pics of your mom....

Danielle

Brenda, that "cake" looks yummy! Oh and Happy Anniversary!

You know, when I saw Plankton in that photo, I almost started cheering. Plankton=good times...yes, I know I'm weird.
Kiki

Thanks Kiki! As for weird...last time I checked Jay and I were two middle-aged "adults" wandering around WDW with a stuffed Plankton...now that's weird! :rotfl2:

I am sitting here wondering how in the WORLD I missed the fact that you had started a new dining report Jeez, I am really behind on stuff around here! Stupid work getting in the way of my reading dining reports. Anyway, you're doing a fab job as always Brenda. You are the queen of reports, dining or otherwise. Can't wait to read more!

Awww, thanks for the kind words and thanks for reading. And I know just what you mean about stupid work getting in the way of the fun stuff!

Less than 6 weeks until HP7... are you as pumped as we are?

I love the Birthday "cake". I did that one year and it is so cute! DH and I have also done the gift basket with the Fairy Tale Cuvee. That was a very nice evening in! BTW, your icecream pics made me go out and buy Haagen Dazs- Caramel Cone and Bailey's Irish cream.

You and I have fabulous taste, don't we? :thumbsup2 I thought the cake was really cute - we were really surprised by all the stuff inside of it - we thought it was hollow!

As for the ice cream...where's that Homer Simpson drool icon when you need it?

The reviews and pictures are great so far! I can't wait to hear about the rest of your dining adventures.

Thank you very much; I'm glad to have you here!

Those baskets are amazing, the cheeseboard and knife are so cute and Lindt chocolate :faint: My absolute favourite it was on offer today at the supermarket so I just had to buy some :rotfl2:

Would you believe this was the first time we had ever tried Lindt chocolate? It was so good...I may have to break down and buy some soon!

I loved your surprises! I didn't even think to ask you how much they cost until you said, "Don't ask how much this cost." Now I want to know! Thanks a lot!!

OK, DawnMarie... just go to the WDW Florist website, which I think DisneyDuet was kind enough to post a few spots along and you can look up the price to your heart's content. ;)

I knew I wasn't the only one that disturbingly went back to look for the flashing! Thanks for admitting it DLM! Remember, I have a bunch load of cousins out in Southern California - we may just be related and just don't know it!!!

Oh, and deep down, I think Brenda wanted us all to check out her cleavage! hee hee!

It's true...I wanted everyone to go back and notice my total lack of cleavage!! Actually, if you want to know the truth I figured I'd better say something about it before someone else here on the DIS did!!! :rotfl2:

This reply is a bit late, but I'd have to agree with everything you said about Ghiradelli's ice cream. I went there a few times when I lived south of San Francisco. The ice cream they have is definitely underrated, especially when paired with their brownies and the chocolate chips they make. Mmmm.

Oh yes, some of the best ice cream I've had in a long time. And the brownie...I wish I was eating it right now!

Well, then, let us crack open a beverage (okay, who am I kidding - my 4th cup of coffee this morning :surfweb: ) and enjoy the hijinks, shall we?? ;)

Coffee wasn't the beverage I was going to suggest...nor did I think it was the one you were going to suggest!! :rotfl2:

Those baskets look amazing! I love my Rosa Regale, but have to agree champagne was in order!

Yes, they were great, weren't they? We ended up trying the Rose Regale at Victoria and Albert's and it was pretty damn good, but champagne will always be my favorite, especially for an anniversary.

I'm wondering to self, how did I miss 8 pages of an oybolshoi review?!!!

Brenda, loving this!! You are going to force me to add a Raglan Road ADR to my next trip. If not just for the beer, but oh that lamb looked so delish too!

Hi Shovan, thanks for dropping by to take a read! Raglan Road for Flying Fish seems like a fair exchange. Thanks to your review we dropped BlueZoo and replaced it with FF the night before our anniversary dinner - it was awesome!!

Gotta agree with Tigerkat on the Rosa it's yum, but then again so is the Iron Horse! Well as you can see I'm like my drinks. I totally understood you're drunken mumbling, didn't even notice it was drunken mumbling!

I think this may be why we're all congregating on the same threads! ;)

What did the plate under Jason's cake look like? Don't get me wrong I love my chocolate, but eventually it's gone and you're left with...the plate. Did it at least have ::MickeyMo on it?

The plate was just a plain silver colored plate - nothing special. We didn't even bring it home with us because we were really limited on space. Actually, it didn't even occur to me to bring it home... ;)

Glad I found your reviews. Great sense of humor and love the pics. I now really , really , really want some ice cream and maybe a beer. (not together!!!!)

I am still trying to catch up on the "shrubbery" tr. (also quite amusing)I haven't had enough dis time recently.

Thank you so much for reading and posting - I'm glad you're enjoying everything so far!

Brenda, welcome back! The anniversary basket looks great! Fairy Tale Cuvee is about the only champagne I actually like, so I approve :goodvibes I love the wine glasses and the cheese board too :thumbsup2

Looking forward to more!

Hi Erica!! You and I also have wonderful taste...but somehow I already knew that. ;)

Love your reviews. I want to know how much the cake cost. Too cute.

Thank you! I think the cake on it's own runs about $55...give or take. The balloons were extra, but you can't have a birthday cake without balloons!

Brenda,

I'm so glad you're back! You're reports are on the top of my favorites list!

Oh, thank you so much and thanks for reading!

Loving your report! You're hilarious, girl!

Oh, and can you please tell me where you ordered your champagne basket?

Thanks for reading and I'm glad you like the review so far. I ordered from the WDW Florist...I'd include the link but I see a good samaritan has beaten me to the punch. Thanks, DD!!

Or better yet, send him on a Western Caribbean Cruise with those crazy Konked Kruisers. That'll teach him!!

Nancy, you and Auntie Karen are going to have your hands full in October...are you sure you want to go through with this?

Crunchy onions.
I had an idea years ago to make a spray-on onion and pepper flavoring that could be put on pizza to make it taste like a supreme without that annoying onion/pepper crunch.
My ideal pizza would be a supreme with all the annoying veggies picked off for you before serving.

If any of you can make that idea work, you are welcome to it. Just send me free samples when it hits the stores.

Not that it matters but I don't like onions either... :rotfl2:

So far, so good! The gift basket/candy bar cake looked awesome! I bet Jason was surprised. I am now convinced we have to try Raglan Road... without the kids. ;)

Keep it coming!
-Michelle

Hi Michelle! Thanks for reading so far. Jason was very surprised and then he accused me of trying to "fatten him up." :rotfl2:

I think you need to try RR and then follow it up with a visit to the Adventurers Club, preferably when we're all at WDW at the same time so that we can go together!

OMG!!! That's totally what it was... "FIR" ... it still doesn't explain anything except that I probably saw the letter "M" and chose the other door by default. Yes...that's exactly how it happened... ;)

Thanks, C.E.!!

I have always ordered from www.disneyflorist.com . They have lots of other baskets too.

Thanks for posting the link, DD!

Please see the above post with the link to the WDW Florist - they have all kinds of great gift ideas. You can also call and have something made-to-order. They were wonderful to work with.

Loved the gift baskets! How nice to have a picture of you and Jay together with your anniversary basket. Did Plankton take the picture?

Yes, Plankie took the picture for us! Didn't he do a nice job? ;)

"Was that you on the West Side?"

"No, Cookie, I swear! I'm afraid of you!"

Jay told me this episode was on our Fox affiliate tonight! Stupid work making me miss one of my favorite episodes...:headache:

"Cubicles are for closers." :rotfl2:

Hi Brenda! Glad you're back and hopefully feeling better! :yay:

I'm feeling much better (except for work), thank you! And thanks for taking time to come over and take a read - hope it meets with your approval.

Love the new picture of the dog, by the way! :thumbsup2

Woohoo, Brenda's back with another awesome tale of culinary adventures!! Just a thought hun, you might be well advised to post spew advisories at the top of your posts ... just as a public-service kinda thing, you know? ;)

Subscribing and can't wait for the next installment! :flower3:

You're the second person to suggest a spew warning...I really didn't know that I had that effect on people. :rotfl2:

Thanks for reading and posting - I'm glad you're having fun and ...have you considered covering your computer in protective plastic? ;)

I loved the baskets. I bet just as many people looked up the price to your basket as did going back to see Brenda cleavage. :lmao: I know I did. I swear your trip reports are number one on my list. Now I am off to find the pics of your mom....

Danielle

Thanks so much for reading and for your kind comments - I'm glad you're enjoying the ride so far.

If you really want gut-busting pictures of Grimace I suggest you look through the Argle-Bargle trippie from this past October. It's about 80% complete and there are some pictures in there of my mom that she'd kill me over if she knew they were posted here. :rotfl2:

Ah, mother-daughter love...:lmao:

OMG!!! That's totally what it was... "FIR" ... it still doesn't explain anything except that I probably saw the letter "M" and chose the other door by default. Yes...that's exactly how it happened... ;)

Thanks, C.E.!!

Happy to help! I don't know what it says that I saw a bathroom door and immediately thought of you... :rotfl2: But, I checked it on Google and Mna means "Ladies" and "Fir" is Gents. ;)

As for weird...last time I checked Jay and I were two middle-aged "adults" wandering around WDW with a stuffed Plankton...now that's weird! :rotfl2:

If you didn't, who would? :confused3

Not that it matters but I don't like onions either... :rotfl2:

Of course you don't. Why would you? :confused3

Are you SURE you're not a long lost relative? :goodvibes

ok, enough with all this mushy I love your trip report. NO, I love yours more.. dribble. :badpc: I need more pics of food!!!

(Can you tell I started my diet last week?:scared1: )

Just kidding everyone. We all know we were lost without Brenda for a week.

But really...on with the food! popcorn::

LYMI

Yes, they were great, weren't they? We ended up trying the Rose Regale at Victoria and Albert's and it was pretty damn good, but champagne will always be my favorite, especially for an anniversary.

Hi Shovan, thanks for dropping by to take a read! Raglan Road for Flying Fish seems like a fair exchange. Thanks to your review we dropped BlueZoo and replaced it with FF the night before our anniversary dinner - it was awesome!!

I think this may be why we're all congregating on the same threads! ;)

Glad to hear you tried the Rosa! Looking forward to hearing about V&A!

That sounds like a fair trade to me! Glad you enjoyed Flying Fish! Can't wait to hear about it!

Us eaters & drinkers do keep showing up in the same places, don't we?!:lmao:

And now on with the show!

These are great! I am really enjoying your review and I am now seriously considering the candy bar cake!!!

BTW, I have that Mickey cutting board in my kitchen!! (of course no one uses it ;) )

And Now for Non-Restaurant Related Food of a Fun and Celebratory Nature...

Mickey cutting board and cheese spreader...so cute!
