OMG, I am not even going to attempt to catch up on here, but Maureen told me to check this out and I LOVE IT

There is not a single day that goes by that dd2 doesn't ask everyone in the house "are you going to ride the peter pan ride with me" Most often those are the first words out of her mouth when her feet hit the floor. I MUST make her one like this!!!! I just hope I can find that fabric or something similiar.

Deann, if you can't find the material let me know, I can add it along with the other things I'm sending you.

That sounds like a good plan! My Walmart closed their fabric dept. so my odds aren't so good! I was going to ask Maureen to get me some, but if you can get me 2yds, that would be great!

Hey Disboutiquers! I always stop over here and look at the things you have made. You all do beautiful work! I make boutique items also, but with 2 boys, I don't take a lot of pics, lol! I would really like to do some things for my boys for our next trip. They are 6 & 3. Any ideas? Last year, I put a big mickey applique on a pair of overalls for each of them. They were really cute when they wore their ears! I absolutely love the Peter Pan dress HeatherSue, I would love to just put Peter like you have him maybe on a blue shirt. Anyway, after lingering for a while, I just thought I would post!

Okay, she just got up from her nap so I put it on her...darn it, but its too long! I should have put it on her before I sewed those ruffles on.! Gotta say- I dont like it. :(

I love it!!! :lovestruc  (smilies courtes of Arminda! She also noticed your weight loss ticker and we are BOTH impressed!!! Way to go!) I bet you that by the end of the summer, the length will be perfect!! I like it as it is too! You really did a great job. I picked up some of that fabric at our Walmart the other day.

Consider it done.

Did you want that this year though??? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Post any pictures you have! We'd love to see them! You might want to check out the Photobucket account for ideas too. There are quite a few boy things there. I think the Peter Pan would be great on a blue shirt! congrats on your weight loss  :cutie:

I HATE to cut fabric, so I sat down and cut out the fabric for 7 different outfits a few days ago. So far, I've completed this one, and a matching Build-A-Bear dress. Tessa's going to wear this on the day that Sawyer wears his Peter Pan costume and Lydia will wear a Tinkerbell dress. I frankenpatterned the portrait peasant top for the top and CarlaC's a-line jumper for the bottom half. I don't have a picture of Tessa modeling it yet. It fits like a long shirt and she'll wear some capris under it.

I'm almost done with a minnie dot jumper (and matching Build-A-Bear dress), too. Hopefully I'll finish them today.

Oh gosh, this is absolutely STUNNING!!! Seriously, your Nana applique is amazing. It's perfect. My goodness, you are an artist girl!!! My step kids are just OBSESSED with Peter Pan. They would be so impressed with your work!

My record is 4!

Thanks so much for the compliments on the Peter Pan dress! Tessa wanted all of those characters on her outfit, but I didn't want to piece together a bunch of appliques. So, I got the idea for the silhouettes while we were watching the movie. The silhouettes were easier than I thought they would be! I'm working on making a picture-heavy applique tutorial. I'm trying to spell out each step carefully to make it as easy as possible for beginners. When I get it done, I'll post it here.

The link Aimee just posted is for a Trip Report!! YAY! I love me a TR!!

Barbara update: She just called me and told me that the sonogram they did on her left breast a few days ago was clear. The cancer they have already found is in her right breast.

After Teresa forwarded a very helpful PM from CampbellScott (thank you so much:hug:). to me, I called and made Barbara an appointment with an oncologist at our local cancer center. Then, I called her and let her know she had an appointment. She seemed really glad that I did that for her. I didn't want to overstep the boundaries, but I also really wanted her to see an oncologist. Barbara is mildly mentally challenged and also deaf, so it's really hard for her to communicate with doctors. My brother is really stressed out about everything and doesn't seem to know what to do. So, I really hope they don't mind us "interfering".

I went back and read all the well-wishes and prayers that are being sent our way. You guys are so wonderful. :grouphug:

I am so relieved that y'all stepped in and made that appointment for your sister in law. You aren't interfering, you are advocating for someone who can't do it for herself and you are arming your sister in law with the best medical care she can receive in this situation. It's SUCH good news about her left breast being clear.

I've been praying for y'all. I'll keep on it!!! :goodvibes

:welcome: and thank you!! I think that's a great idea for a boy's shirt!

Hey Heather! I found a purse for you! :rolleyes1

(Heather and I have both had a fear of sock monkeys)
Now Teresa, that's just MEAN!!! :scared1:
Is it just my imagination, or is that also made out of that plastic weave stuff?

I am so honored that Maureen sent you over here to see it!!

Peter Pan was Tessa's favorite ride when we went to WDW when she was 2 1/2. We rode it at least 7 times!

Has anyone seen the Minnie Dot fabric lately? My mom is going to check out Hancock fabrics in Indy when she goes in a few weeks but I want to be sure we get it. If not, is anyone willing to check their stores for me?

These are gorgeous, Laura!!

Do you have free instructions that you use to make these bows? I have found a lot of free tutorials online, but not for bows like these. They are beautiful!

The internet is a strange place....
I guess it's time for me to take a break from the Dis, for a while.

Creepy! Elisa, you will be seriously missed. As a few people have said before, it was your designs that originally attracted me to this forum and inspired me to make Disney things for my own kids. It is SO not fair that this creepy guy has spoiled it. I hope everything works out okay!

Breathtaking! So different and wonderful! Thank you so much for posting the pics you used!

:rotfl: :lmao:

I had a mean baby sitter who put me off of clowns and sock monkeys too...she told me their mouths were red b/c they ate children. :scared1:

To THIS DAY, clowns freak me out. I can't look at them.

good thing I have a good therapist...

;)

:scared1: Nice sitter!:scared1:

Elisa: I miss you already!

Heather: that is a work of art! I am so jealous of your creativity. First Cinderella's dress with the birdie and now this; you are so talented!

I had the worst day today, all of it my own fault. We have a school carnival in the spring put on by the PTA and anyone with a business was invited to donate something to be auctioned off. Of course I decide today that I need to do this and they are due tomorrow. So I run over to JoAnns and look at fabric. It would be so much easier if I wasn’t so indecisive. I thought some thing princess, but then I worried that it wouldn’t appeal to the non Disney-obsessed. So I went back and forth and then I settled on drama queen monkey fabric. It seems monkeys are very popular these days and Lori's outfit is so cute. So I buy it and get it home and can’t decide what kind of dress to make. An a-line seems too babyish for elementary school girls. I finally find something on :wizard: that I like so I copy it. Only I screw it up, royally. And the more I try to fix it the worse it looks. Fortunately, all the mess is on the inside but at this point there is no way I would give it anyone. Megan is happy she has a new dress though. So I took pictures and sent them in and asked for more time so I can make another one. Next week is spring break and we are going to Disney. So when we get back I just have to make another one and not screw it up this time!

My sinuses are bothering me big time and no one is sleeping very well, so I am super cranky. Yesterday someone asked me if I was sunburned because my face looked weird. No, just swollen because of my sinuses!

Here is Megan's new dress:

I did manage to make something new for our trip:

Megan loves the purse and has already filled it with disney toys!

Is it just me...

or does anyone else feel the need to close their eyes when they get down to the bottom of the page? I feel like I'm looking at some kind of men's magazines with some of the google ads at the bottom of the page! :rotfl2:
