The Flat Adventures of Weird and Ninja

Irky! It's always a great surprise to see someone commenting on our thread (especially when there haven't been any updates!) but it's an even better surprise to see when you comment! To all of the entries! :lmao:

I did a quick recap of your first TR bc I couldn't remember what your DBF did since you said he couldn't decipher your graffiti drawings ... could it be because he's too busy engineering software? :goodvibes And another random thing, I think it's funny how he likes the movies just like I do! I thought I was the only 20something year old browsing Target for deals on Disney DVDs! I would love to see your DVD collection though, since I only started not too long ago so I have a pretty small collection. My mom actually owes me a copy of the Lion King because she lost it. :headache: ... I know, I know.

I love your flats entries! It's so hard not to comment on all of it!

Hahaha...no, I think he just doesn't know what they are because 1. my drawing talent consists of three legged stick men (as my students often tease me about) and 2. I never really got the hang of drawing with the mouse!

You're definitely not the only 20something buying Disney DVD's! I would b e so bummed about The Lion King! Didn't it go back into the vault?

A random thing that I noticed when looking at the posts of WoD ... the eyes of the elevator are looking at the viewer in the 3rd floor picture :
IMG_3831.jpg

But then in the picture with me, it's also looking at the viewer ...
IMG_3900.jpg

Am I going crazy here or do other people see it?! Extra creepy elevator!

That's definitely creepy! Do the eyes actually move or does it just look that way in pictures?

Hehe, after reading this, both Weird and I joined theknot.com separately! I used to look at all the knottie bios all the time, but I thought it was a little weird to join because I wasn't actually with anyone at the moment! I remember I used to always say, "I want to get married" because the prospect of the wedding and reception just seemed like so much fun! Now knowing all the work and stress that goes into it and also now that I've got my Weird, I don't necessarily want to get married. Now I want to be married!

I agree. I used to do the same thing, but now it seems like way too much work and I don't want to devote that much time to it anymore.

Then we looked at engagement rings, and he pretty much knows the kind of ring I want (something very simple). The other day, he made a ring out of a twistie tie and on the webcam, it looks pretty real! Ahhh, I'm getting all excited :)

:goodvibes

Recently, Weird and I were also looking at Disney merchandise, you know, for the house we don't yet have. Here are just a few of the things that caught our eye:

For our babies, Powell and Vachel. Haha, when Weird first came to my church, a bunch of the guys thought his name was really Powell! And then a few months ago, my mom told me that Vachel was an actual boy's name! So our children will be Powell (girl) and Vachel (boy).
Baby.jpg

Um, we're kidding about the names, of course!

These dishes came in a set of four so I was like, "Who are we going to invite over?"
Mickey.jpg

Then I saw these mugs and wondered again, who's going to sit and have a drink with us? This was the caption for that picture (in our private journal): Again, who will we invite? Maybe Irky and her DBF, probably her DH by then!
MickeyMugs.jpg

Hehe :thumbsup2

I love that baby furniture! If I ever have one, I am definitely decorating with Disney stuff! Think how cute it would be to have Jack and the flats all around with the dishes and cups!

Haha, I'm not sure! I feel like we just randomly found it, but Weird said he kind of had an idea it was somewhere in that area.

I looked it up and there is one in Philly. I never knew there was one in NYC, but I will be on the lookout for it if I make it there!

Because of budget cuts, we're down to only 4 preps a week. Fortunately and unfortunately, I have 2 of the 4 are Monday! I mean, it's great on Monday, but it stinks on Tuesday and Wednesday when I don't have any break other than lunch! This Wednesday was pretty tough because I didn't even have lunch since we had curriculum conferences on MWF during our lunch periods!

:scared: That stinks!

Cute! They look excited!

This is a picture of the room I shared with my brother. It's funny because we're spoiled from our Florida place because we have full size beds and here we only had twins! But neither of us had a problem with it because that's what we have at home.
IMG_3986.jpg

It looks nice! Where in Virginia were you?

Our dinner experience was interesting. We got take out from Olive Garden. That part isn't so interesting but bringing it back was! We drove back home and parked and I took the bag of food out of the trunk. Just 5 steps away from the trunk, the contents of the bag FELL OUT. The bottom of the OG bag was just nonexistent and everything fell out! That was 4 main courses and 4 soups!

:scared1: I can't believe that! I'll be careful how I carry take out bags from now on!

For a while afterwards, my foot was still warm from the burn, but it was okay.

I'm glad you were ok! That could have been bad.

We had to run a few errands to get food and whatnot. Our first stop was Target. I know it's not really a special Virginia place to go since there are Target stores everywhere, but we wanted to check out the food prices. What I love about Target stores is the Dollar Spot! Why? Because I can buy Disney Princess ice paks for 25 cents each!
IMG_3988.jpg

I planned on using them in my lunchbox to work because it'll be an extra bit of magic in the day. And let me tell you, these little things make me smile in the day! Bright colors can really affect my mood in a positive way so inside my bright pink colored lunchbox has my bright pink Disney princess ice paks!

Yay for Disneyfied lunches! Those are cute.

We went to a few more of the stores there. One of the stores was Heaven & Earth, a Christian bookstore. I wasn't really interested in the place except for the little Veggietales pirate playset for the new movie coming out. Weird and Ninja had so much fun pretending they were the pirates who don't do anything!
IMG_4003.jpg

That playset is so cute, especially for the flats! But, I hate the VeggieTales ever since I worked at Chuck E Cheese during high school and the Veggie Tales songs were on the tapes that looped all day! I got so tired of hearing them!

The Disney section for scrapbooking!
IMG_4014.jpg

Weird and Ninja wanted to buy this one, but they didn't know what they would do with it afterwards so instead they asked for a picture.
IMG_4015.jpg

Some Disney paper:
IMG_4017.jpg

Can you tell I had a lot of fun looking in this section?
IMG_4018.jpg

That store looks pretty awesome, especially all the Disney stuff!

Haha awww, you should post up one of your three legged stick men! Drawing with the mouse took me a really long time to get used to. Ninja and I used to draw on paint for each other and I must say, we've gotten better over time! Of course it did take 2 years and some time apart to practice ... ;)

And yes, The Lion King is back in the vault! I don't even know when it'll come back out because Beauty and the Beast went back but it's coming back soon and it came out after The Lion King! My mother!

That's definitely creepy! Do the eyes actually move or does it just look that way in pictures?

I'm not sure about the eyes, can anybody help us out here?

I know, I keep saying that I'll put an entry up but I keep forgetting to upload my pictures! Sorry about that everybody!

Howdy everybody! As promised, an adventure post! But before I begin, I must say that Ninja and I have been very busy so we haven't been able to spend a lot of time together so we haven't really had many adventures, but do not worry! I've been taking Ninja and Weird along to one of my classes, a class called On-Site: New York. What does that mean? It means a TON of walking/exploring different areas of NY! So far, we've covered a small part of Brooklyn, including an area called The Promenade which had a Fruit Street sitting area. The area is called that because there are three streets there that are named after fruits: Cranberry, Orange, and Pineapple streets! Anyway, there were many great photo opportunities (as well as mental note taking opportunities for me to remember where I can take real Ninja when we go out on dates ;) ) On to the pictures!

As part of my thesis project, we had to visit an abandoned airfield in Queens. Yep, abandoned. With good reason too! The area was flooded and it's been left alone for so long that there's wildlife, homeless people, and a ton of vegetation. Oh, there was also this huge fence that surrounded the area so there was no possible way I could've gotten in there. There was a hole in the fence though, but since I was not in the mood to be stopped by security or attacked by wild animals, I stayed outside as my friend went inside through the hole in the fence. Ninja and Weird kept me company though, so it was bearable.

ON_SITE_NY006.jpg

Across from the airfield, we stopped by to one of the strangest combinations ever.

ON_SITE_NY005.jpg

Anyway ... Let's go on to seeing the city!

Weird and Ninja have never really spent a lot of time in Brooklyn, just because we haven't really had the time and I personally don't know Brooklyn all that well (a real shame since I've lived here for quite a while!) but I think after this semester, I'll know a lot more places to take Ninja! :D

ON_SITE_NY013.jpg

You can see the Brooklyn Bridge in the background that Ninja and Weird are supposed to walk someday.
ON_SITE_NY018.jpg

I also got to take the tram from Roosevelt Island (the island that Jennifer Connelly moved to in Dark Water; also the tram that the Green Goblin stopped with a bunch of kids in Spiderman) My professor prefaced the tram ride by telling us that about a year and a half ago, the tram was stuck in the middle for about 20 hours until they got the people off by helicopter ... what a sense of humor ...
ON_SITE_NY019.jpg

He also took us to an awesome Food Emporium under a bridge (59th Street bridge, for those of you that are interested) Ninja and Weird were so psyched to see this huge case of cheese!
ON_SITE_NY020.jpg

But alas, the tour goes really quickly and we cover a lot of ground so I haven't been able to get as many pictures as I want! I have to find a way to get more pictures and walk for 3 hours continuously without feeling too tired! I did take my friend to a familiar building for some people (not him though, he doesn't really watch Disney movies) ... bonus points for people who can identify which Disney movie this statue was in!

[/QUOTE]

I am going to guess that it was in the movie Jungle to Jungle. I hope I am right. It has been a long time since i have seen that movie so I am not positive about it.

(I'll respond to the previous comments some other time, I just pretty much copied and pasted this from my online journal to take a short break ... gotta get back to work! I'm behind since I spent a good chunk of my time today calling 8 parents! Hey kids, here's a novel idea ... why don't you do the homework and return the signed tests so I don't have to spend my time calling your parents!)

After three years of waiting, I was finally able to go on the church bike trip this past Saturday! I had been looking forward to it for so long, but I was always too sick to handle such an excursion. This year, however, was different. I had gone biking on the Belt Parkway with Weird a few weeks back, but I was still feeling a little nervous about handling such a long trip ... 25 miles! Nevertheless, I was still excited.

Weird picked me up at around 8am. We had to go get lunch for the day since neither of us were in a mood to make lunch (and then have to eat it later on). Subway wasn’t open yet, so we headed to Panera. However, as we were trying to decide what to order, the guy at the register told us that they were only selling breakfast things at the moment. We made a few calls to see what other people were doing for lunch. So as not to worry about finding a place to stop later on, we went to a local superette to get turkey sandwiches. Then we were off to the Poconos!

Okay, we tried to be off to the Poconos. But we got lost like, 10 minutes from my house. We turned back around, and I realized we were close to AC Moore and Kohl’s and I said that we should just stay home and go there. I took it as a “sign” that we it just wasn’t our day!

When we got to New Jersey, we proceeded to get lost once again. I was freaking out because those MapQuest directions were just not doing it! MY GPS wasn’t working very well either so I felt like it was sign after sign that we should just turn around! We stopped somewhere to try to figure things out. Actually, Weird tried to figure things out as I got all nervous. He finally got the GPS to work. It didn’t work before because I were typing in State Route and Route and all that when it was really just PA-903 (or whatever the number was). Phew! Can breathe a sigh of relief!

Unfortunately, at that point, I wasn’t in much of a mood to keep going. We passed by IKEA, and I said that we should just spend the day there instead! Just all these signs to turn around! We did keep going though, thanks to the GPS, who received a name later on in the day!

The ride was a little over 2 hours. Halfway there, I asked to stop because well, what do you know, I had to go to the bathroom! It’s a common thing that I have to go to the bathroom many times in the morning because of all the water I drink for my morning pills. I even purposely skipped my 2nd medicine (I know, not really a wise thing to do!) with hopes that less water would mean no need to stop. Oh well. We picked a random exit that had a bunch of fast food places and what do you know?!? There was a Panera there! Ahhh! Haha, we definitely could have just picked up lunch then, but I just didn’t want to have one more thing on my mind while heading up.

For real?! FOR REAL!
BIKE_TRIP_08003.jpg

We stopped at Wal-Mart because I had to use the restroom. We decided that that would have been a great place to move because it was fairly quiet, but there were all these stores together. Then there was a Chili’s and a Macaroni Grille. Plus, the place was called Mt. Olive! Olive olive olive ... you know, like olive juice! Exit 27A!

If we weren’t slightly late, I would’ve wanted to go through the clothing section to see if they had any Disney t-shirts!a
BIKE_TRIP_08002.jpg

First time in another state alone!
BIKE_TRIP_08012.jpg

We ended back on the highway to continue the remaining leg of the trip. As we were riding in Pennsylvania (with the Wall-E soundtrack in the background), we were trying to think of names for the GPS. My family never named her. So we saw Hazleton and I said, “Hazle.” Haha, it sounded a little creepy too, especially when I made it sound creepy, but Hazle it is! Haha, we also passed by Scranton. Alas, it was Saturday and no one would be in the office, except maybe Dwight.

This is what I do while DBF concentrates on driving ...
BIKE_TRIP_08007.jpg

Dwight?! Or maybe Jim and Pam!!! And yep, there's Hazleton!
BIKE_TRIP_08013.jpg

Hazle! Saved us from insanity.
BIKE_TRIP_08014.jpg

Took a bunch of pictures in the car, but none of them do the mountains justice!
BIKE_TRIP_08011.jpg

The hills and such when we exited were a little crazy. I was not appreciating that at all. We did see a Subway there though. Haha, it was entertaining to see all these places we could have gotten lunch.

Boyfriend's gassy.
BIKE_TRIP_08015.jpg

We ended up at our destination. It was kind of ... empty. There were cars parked there, but there wasn’t anybody around. We parked, and I called our friend who was in charge to ask if anyone had arrived, but to her knowledge, no one was there yet. Soon after, however, two other cars arrived. We went to check in or something to see if there was anything we could do about finding out the meeting place. Apparently we had to drive elsewhere. We got directions and waited a little while, but then it was decided that everyone would meet there. So the 3 cars headed to the new place.

I think we were the last group to arrive, which was stinky because the two of us ended up being the first car to arrive (which was at 11:20, and even then we thought we were late since we were supposed to meet at 11). I thought that I’d be able to close my eyes for a little while as we waited for everyone to show up.

We signed our liability forms, got our bikes, and then the woman working there spoke to us about the do’s and don’ts of the trail. Then we were off! Because it was really cold, I couldn’t just wear my own zip-up gray hoodie because it wasn’t warm enough. I ended up wearing DBF’s hoodie, which was very warm! Haha, very 212.

(continued)

I was a little wobbly at first, but I got used to riding that bike again. The first part of the trail was really bumpy with tons of rocks and I was thinking, “Oh dear, if the entire trail is like this?!?” Ouch. But then it got better after we crossed a road, and I breathed a sigh of relief!

It was still quite chilly so I had to stop to put the hood over my head. I knew a headache would be how I’d end the day if I didn’t do something about it. Later on, I also put on the cap I brought to cover the front of my forehead because otherwise I would’ve been asking for a sinus headache!

Into the woods!
BIKE_TRIP_08017.jpg

It was a wonderful morning though as Weird and I rode side by side. A lot of people ended up passing us because we were losing steam. We decided to stop at the next picnic bench we saw. We did that and broke out the sandwiches and sun chips. Another couple ended up stopping at that picnic table with us too.

A little while later, a bunch of people from our church saw us and decided to take a break too. It was great to take a break and get recharged with the food.

The picnic table where we had lunch. The couple in the background had lunch with us too.
BIKE_TRIP_08019.jpg

The ride afterwards was a lot easier because we had energy to burn. I guess I can’t really recap what happened thereafter since it was just a lot of riding and scenery looking and laughing and such.

A cute little ledge!
BIKE_TRIP_08020.jpg

Let's set up camp and take a break!
BIKE_TRIP_08021.jpg

Soon after, we reached the 10 mile mark, which was where my aunt, uncle, and cousin were taking the bus to head back. I was feeling pretty energized at that point. We took a few pictures with my cousin and her DBF because we’re the corny couples who dress alike, haha.

Couples who are so corny that they dress alike. Don’t you like our shirts!!! Axiom!!!
BIKE_TRIP_08031-1.jpg

BTW, my cousin has a bottle of Gatorade in her hoodie pocket. It's not a baby!

Waterfall!
BIKE_TRIP_08022.jpg

The water. Weird and Ninja in the real Weird's picture spot.
BIKE_TRIP_08024.jpg

I made a stop at the bathroom just in case since I knew there wasn’t going to be another one in a while. Big mistake! It was a natural bathroom, which meant it was a huge, deep hole with no water! It smelled so gross! It smelled even just passing by the outside of the building! No running water at all! Blech.

We continued riding for a little longer and at that point, we were with my uncle, my cousin, and her DBF. My cousin’s DBF decided he would take out his digi cam and start filming us. I don’t quite know what happened throughout this whole thing because I started riding a little faster just to get away. Then out of the corner of my left eye, I see a bike tip over and flying over the handlebars is Weird! I tried to brake as fast as I could without flying over and I yelled out, “Uncle L!” since he was far ahead at that point. I got off my bike and headed over to Weird.

Those few seconds when I didn’t know what had happened were so scary. I didn’t know if he was going to be like, sprawled out on the trail or something! Thankfully he was standing up and he moved his bike out of the way. He was holding his hands in a particular way so I asked to see them, but he didn’t want to show me. Haha, out of all people? I’ve seen gross, it’s okay.

His hands were pretty nasty, particularly his left one. My uncle came back and he opened up his first aid kid. We used a spray to help clean it and numb the pain.. Then I alcohol pad-ed it and wiped off as much dirt as possible. The bandaids weren’t about to work so my uncle wrapped it in gauze and then the tape. My cousin lent him her gloves so that the bandages would stay on tight.

We were okay after a while and began riding again. I was pretty upset at that point just because it was kind of stressful. I rode ahead so I could just think for a while. Weird knew I was upset and slightly angry too. It took a while for me to sulk.

We took a break by the railroad to take flats pictures. I told him I would need a little more time to sulk. He understood. He asked me how much longer and I said, “Give me another minute.” He counted out those 60 seconds and when he was done, I told him a story about work, haha. Of course, I said that that doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t still be upset with him in the future. We had recently both had bad dreams on the same night where Weird got badly hurt so it was just too coincidental.

Don't be too daring, Weird and Ninja!
BIKE_TRIP_08034.jpg

This is when I was still sulking because I was still upset.
BIKE_TRIP_08033.jpg

Chugga chugga chugga choo choo!
BIKE_TRIP_08035.jpg

We took our time riding at that point and stopped a few more times just because I was burning out. We were going around the mountain (and waved to passersby on the train!) and I kept looking forward to being in the sun, but it was always such a tease! I wanted to be warmed up!

This bridge was creepy ... I was like, they have to walk across that?!? I said a lot of stupid things that day! For example, I turned on Weird’s camera in the car, and I said, “Babe, you were in black and white.” He said that he wasn’t. I realized why it as like that ... I had it pointed towards my gray sweats ...
BIKE_TRIP_08039.jpg

Still sulking at this point. Hehe. I was almost finished.
BIKE_TRIP_08038.jpg

Finally we made it to the spot with pavement! That meant we were near the end of the trail! Yay! We found the huge group of people waiting at the bridge for the group picture. I think my other guy said something like, “Wow, she made it.” Haha, I guess I don’t seem like the type of person to be able to make 25 miles?

The last meeting point where we took the group picture.
BIKE_TRIP_08040.jpg

We took the group picture and then we were off for a few more minutes to the pickup point. That was fun and easy though because it was very smooth and easy going on the pavement. Ahhh, nice and relaxing on our bottoms! The bikes were loaded back on and we climbed aboard the cheese bus.

I was hungry and thirsty then so Weird and I munched on some of the snacks that I brought. The bus driver came on and said that we should get comfortable and not be nervous during the ride since he has to speed up when going down the hills so he can make it back up the hill! He also added on that someone on the last run or whatever had gotten sick! Agh! That made me nervous.

Bats and Jacks pretzels for Halloween. Although technically it should have been Bat and Jacks.
BIKE_TRIP_08043.jpg

On the cheese bus ... would we survive and get back safely?!? Weird prayed as we started off because I was so nervous!
BIKE_TRIP_08042.jpg

I knew that I would have to try to go to sleep so I could survive the ride. I’m not into rollercoaster rides to begin with (I mean, my idea of a great ride is BTMRR!) ... and in my mind, those are still so much safer because they’re supposed to do that! Not really my kind of bus ride back! I was kind of just resting for the first 20 minutes because everyone else was still excited and having fun. Then for the second half, I was actually sleeping on and off even though at some points, I woke up because I felt the fairly steep drops.

We finally arrived at Whitehaven once more. Weird woke me up and I was definitely not feeling well. It wasn’t necessarily the ride. It could have been exerting myself way too much and not having much food in my system and then suddenly eating and drinking on the bus. Whatever it was, my entire abdomen and esophagus area was killing me. I hadn’t had pain like that in ages. I couldn’t even stand up straight because it hurt so much.

I sat down for a little while on the benches to wait to go to the bathroom before we left. The bathroom was also interesting too since there was only one stall and a curtain instead of a door!

Afterwards, we hiked our way to our parking spot and I put on this Chinese medicine on my stomach. That’s how bad it hurt because I was willing to smell like it! Weird didn’t mind either because he said he just wanted me to feel better. Haha, what a guy. Willing to let his hoodie smell like Chinese-ness just so that I could feel better.

After some Chinese medicine-ing, I felt a little bit better. Better enough to get this.
BIKE_TRIP_08045.jpg

And then this, because I felt like the previous picture showed that I didn't have much hair so I had to prove that I had it!
BIKE_TRIP_08047.jpg

Once we got onto I-80, DBF looked at me and told me to take a nap. I didn’t really want to because I don’t think it’s fair to the driver if the person in the passenger seat gets to sleep, but he said he was okay and not tired (though who knows if he was lying to me, hehe, couldn’t exactly check his hands to see if they were clammy from nervousness!). He said he would wake me up in half an hour. Alas, I slept longer than that! I slept for about an hour, and I probably would have kept on sleeping if this sudden, sharp pain didn’t wake me. I guess the stomach pain was back in full force. Not a happy camper!

It was really dark at that point and kind of scary. DBF said that people were really crazy on the road, and he said that even he didn’t like driving then and there. Appreciation to you for dealing with it while you let me sleep! Finally, Hazle started telling us about our upcoming exits so that was a relief.

Weird’s hands were really hurting at that point, and I kept crying out in pain because it was getting all intense again. We were not a very happy couple. Plus, he was hungry too. It was just not a very good ending to the night for us. All those signs telling us to go back! Now we know why!

We made it back home, but because we weren’t in a mood to eat out, we stopped by Applebee’s to pick up dinner. I couldn’t even move to get out of the car, so Weird went in to order while I waited, all curled up into a ball.

Eatin’ good (or fast and cheap) in the neighborhood.
BIKE_TRIP_08051.jpg

We got back to my house and before we even ate, I went to the bathroom. When I came out, I saw DBF sitting in the living room by the stairs, taking off the bandages. Again he didn’t want me to see. Haha, I was like, “Surgery!” I’ve seen really gross things ... like my bellybutton turned out the other way, all soaked with blood after I had my gallbladder removed. So gross and bloody that I actually thought it was gauze and not my own bellybutton!

So I ran around to grab a few things ... Bacitracin (from my toe surgery), non-adhesive pads (from my lumpectomy), sterilized scissors (from my surgery ... though not sterilized anymore so I had to alcohol pad them), and then bandaids and such. For those few minutes, I was Nurse Ninja. I bandaged him up as best as I could. Then since he didn’t have much use of his hands, I mixed his food. Hehe, but he was able to feed himself even though he was holding the fork really strangely.

We watched Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives along with a little bit of National Treasure and Mr. and Mrs. Smith mixed in. I couldn’t eat much because I was still in a little bit of pain, but I was glad that we were at home just in case it got worse.

Next time? We bike along the Belt Parkway for free ...

I am going to guess that it was in the movie Jungle to Jungle. I hope I am right. It has been a long time since i have seen that movie so I am not positive about it.

Sorry! It's actually a pretty recent movie. The statue probably wasn't even made when Jungle 2 Jungle came out. Good try though! Any other guesses? :thumbsup2

Drat! That stinks. I will keep thinking about it and come up with another guess. I get three guesses right??

Ninja, DFi just had a killer bike accident. And i actually am a nurse so I bandaged him. He told me I was incredibly gentle for pushing bandages on ripped open flesh. What can I say? I got skills.

He braked suddenly because a car pulled out on the street right in front of him... He flipped and skidded. His chin, knee, and entire palm of his hand were SHREDDED. I told him no biking before the wedding. Thankfully, he healed quickly. Otherwise I would have mocked him at engagement photos!!!

You guys are a really cute couple.

Before I start, let it be said that Ninja is cuter than any fictional character to ever attend Pratt, namely Pam Beesly. I mean, just look at her in my hoodie. :lovestruc I rest my case.

Drat! That stinks. I will keep thinking about it and come up with another guess. I get three guesses right??

Actually, thanks for guessing! I was starting to wonder if people just didn't watch Disney movies anymore ... hopefully that's not the case! You can definitely get more than one guess, good luck! :thumbsup2

Aww, sorry to hear that! I know that my accident wasn't nearly as bad as what happened to your DF but he has my sympathy! Or is it empathy ... anyway, it's a good thing he has you as a nurse! A real one too! Very cool :thumbsup2

Haha, definitely keep him away from a bike before the wedding. A cage sounds like the safest thing ... ;)

My guess for the statue is Enchanted. Am I right!?

Great update with the bike trip! Wow, 25 miles! That's crazy! :scared1:

You guys are so cute together!

Hooray! We have a winner! I knew that if you were gonna guess, Irky, you'd get it right since you're a self-proclaimed Disney movie fan! :goodvibes Now if you could tell me the line Giselle says when she sees the statue ... I'd be a little scared because you'd be at my level! :lmao:

25 miles isn't as bad as you might think. DGF wasn't sure about it at first just because she hasn't ridden a bike in a long time (which was why we went along the Belt closer to home) and that was the only time she went before the 25 miles. Although it would've been nice to finish without her sulking and my hands stinging ... :sad2:

Sorry we've both been slacking a bit with the flat adventures just because we rarely have time to see each other! Gosh, I miss her. :lovestruc Anyway, I'll be going on another tour in NY, this time - 42nd Street! Looks like the flats will be having an adventure and I'll show you guys some parts of NY like you've never seen before! Stay tuned! :thumbsup2

"She's beautiful!" I love me some Enchanted!!! :goodvibes

I don't think I would make it 2 miles on a bike.

Can't wait for the next update!

Just saying a quick hi to everyone! We had a school trip today at the roller rink for a Harvest Party (instead of a Halloween one). While skating around, a 3rd grader went right in front of me, causing me to fall backwards (to avoid going into him). I landed directly on my tailbone/coccyx bone! So needless to say, I'm out of commission! After I was on the rink for a while, some parents were able to help me get up and onto a couch. I waited a while to see if it would get better, but it didn't. I could barely move so they called an ambulance to take me to the ER. There's nothing that can be done for it. I just have to wait it out! The lovely thing is this ... it's going to get worse tomorrow! Ouch! I already can't walk well or sit without pain. Basically, I'm just in pain whatever I'm doing.

The only "good" thing about getting hurt was that the students in the school (not just the grades I teach) kept coming over to ask how I was doing. The assistant principal was saying that that's how much I'm loved! They kept crowding around me, and she was telling them to go away, but it was okay by me. I love every single one of them. Haha, even the one who went in front of me and doesn't even know it!

BTW, that kid ended up being pulled off the rink because he kept doing it to other students, and it was too reckless and dangerous to have him stay on!!!

Weird, I drew on the board today and my kids were teasing me about my three legged stick people (and the fact that my boat was on top of the water...) and I remembered you told me I should post a picture of my stick people. I snapped a picture with my phone and here you have the extent of my artistic ability!

I was illustrating what the mast of a ship was and then how Odysseus was tied to the mast and then broke free of the ropes and tried to jump in the water to get to the Sirens. Just in case you were curious! :rotfl:

Haha, Irky, that's awesome! I've gotten my kids to be absolutely and utterly wow-ed at my drawings. I'll draw something and say, "Aren't I an amazing artist?" and they all agree if they know what's good for them. Haha, just kidding!

Ooo, and in high school when my friends and I were doing a group video project on a bunch of mythology stories, I compared the Sirens to Jigglypuff from Pokemon! I played it on my flute and we had a boat heading straight towards that Jigglypuff song. Although I don't know how well-known Jigglypuff is in this day and age ...
