Free Dining Watch 2009 - Dates Released!! Update post 1

Can anyone answer this question before I call the hotline...

We are going for 9 days in September for free dining, but I only purchased a 7 day park ticket because we have 2 days where we won't be going to the parks...

Is it Free dining for your "length of stay" or is the Free Dining attached to the days on your park ticket? :confused3

I'd appreciate any advice...we've been to Disney a bazillion times but this is our first adventure with Free Dining!

FDP is based on the nights you are staying at the resort. If you are at the resort for 9 days then you get 9 days of FDP. You are only required to purchase a 1 day ticket to receive FDP. ;)

That's a good question! The answer is that the dining is for the length of your stay. So, if you are not planning to be in the parks for 2 days, then you will want to find restaurants in the hotels or at Downtown Disney.

Enjoy your trip!

The Moms Panel on the WDW site says "Dining Plan credits are based on the number of NIGHTS of your reservation."

Yes, the Mom's panel gets some things right, especially on info that's readily available in a lot of other places.

We are going 9 days in October for FD. I only have base, one day tickets on our package. We are considering APs. We get FD for all 9 days though.

We do the same thing. I wish they would let AP holders in on the deal without having to buy extra tickets!:thumbsup2

Does anyone know... we have 10 day park tickets booked as of now. This will be our fifth year in a row to be at WDW during FDDP and know we'll be back in Orlando next April. So, we are considering getting APs. Can we apply the price of the 10-day MYW PHs to our AP? It seems that a cast member once told me this was an option, but I wondered if any of you have done this and how it works.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Yes! You can do this; I've never done it but I have looked into it a couple of years ago. I believe that the best way to do this is to convert your 10 day MYW tickets to AP's on your second-to-last day in the parks or at the TTC. This just give you an extra few days over and above the typical 365 days. What they will do is take the amount that you spent on your MYW tickets and apply it to the price of an AP.

Like I said it's been a little while since I was looking into this so other may have some more up to date information.

HTH :thumbsup2

Gotta love the people on the Dis...I find new info EVERY day! :thumbsup2
You guys are the reason my trips get better and better each year!
I can't BELIEVE I never knew about FREE dining!
And I Doubly can't believe anyone would pass this up if they know they'd be planning a vacation there anyway!
Guess that means more food for the rest of us!!!! :rotfl2:

Can someone please tell me where I can get info on the costs for upgrading to AP's?? We have a 10 day park hopper plus and I am thinking of doing this so I can return the first week of December!

Thought I would pass on for those who received the "GOOFY" pin email................
Just got off the phone with Disney Travel as to whether the"Goofy - Big kids get little kids prices" email pin code was extended into December 2009. Evidently it has been because we (2) was able to get 11/30-12/4 at the POFQ with King Bed, 1 day tickets and DDP.

We just did this with the buy 4 get 3 deal. Have to upgrade at one of the parks not at the resort. We upgraded on the first day as they told us it starts with the date of first use of ticket. For 3 adults and 1 child the premium pass wound up being around $388 each. Not really sure, dd was paying for the upgrade, lol.

You just pay the price difference between the tickets you have and the ones you want to upgrade to. You can find those prices at http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tickets-passes/

Hope that helps :thumbsup2

Thanks soo much!!! I can finally figure this out! I can't believe I couldn't find it! Do your annual pass coupons expire in July? Just curious since my trip is in august and the last person I was going to get one from had ones that expired in July? Thanks again!:flower3:

No problem at all, glad I could help :goodvibes

The coupons I have are probably the same as your friends, which expire July 31st and have to be redeemed at a park window. Sorry :(
