Here is a nice frontal view of the cake. I was expecting flat bows...my DD's favorite part of Minnie, but I was surprised and very pleased with the 3-D bows that were perfect! My DD always wears a bow!

Does any one have a picture of the nightmare before christmas cake and does anyone have Brian's email address It is easier for me to email him then to call. Thanks a bunch.:thumbsup2

Call first and they will give you an email address. That's how it worked for me.:thumbsup2

The Head Pastry Chef who made my cake at YC was named Brian...I wonder????

Ok, I have been reading through this thread and I have to admit I am a little confused. I was hoping to order a cake for DH's b-day. I would like to eat it in our room at Pop. I have read that there are some issues with ordering a cake to Pop. Can I order it from the bakery there and pick it up? Do I just call the main cake number on the 1st page? Sorry just a bit confused. TIA!!!

It depends what you want. They do sell some small generic cakes in the cafeteria.

That cake is absolutely divine!! I would like one of those for my 40th. I have been tossing up between a sort of mad hatter cake or a castle cake. But that Minnie cake is so cute!

Is anyone else having trouble viewing this cake? I have not had this happen before--but I can not see a cake...:confused3

For those of you who ordered from the GF, how long did it take Pat to return your phone call? I called yesterday morning and I haven't heard back yet.

Thanks.

Hi! We will be celebrating my dd's 9th birthday at WDW this spring and she wants her birthday dinner at Le Cellier. Has anyone ordered a cake there and do you have pictures? I haven't really seen or read of any examples from this restaurant in particular.

People have not had a lot of luck getting customized cakes served at theme park restaurants. Epcot's bakery, in particular, seems extremely limited in what it can do (think grocery store cake with whipped cream frosting). If you want a fancy cake, you're better off ordering it for a resort restaurant.

Also, can you have a cake delivered to the room at Pop Century? (This is if LeCellier doesn't work out) Are they just the 6inch premade cakes or can one be ordered more customized?

You can sure try, but because Pop Century doesn't have room service, there is no infrastructure for doing this. Occasionally people have been able to reach a sympathetic CM who will go out of his/her way to make it happen, but in general your best bet at Pop Century is to buy one of the premade cakes in the cold case at the food court.

Hi, can someone help me please?

I would like to order a birthday cake for when we have dinner at the California Grill in a couple of weeks. I would like it to have Dumbo the Elephant on it, not as an edible image but something special. I've read about Brian and seen some of his designs, they are great, but I'm not sure who to ring and how to go about ordering this cake, any ideas?

Many thanks!

Call the Contemporary Resort's main number - (407) 824-1000 - and ask to be transferred to Private Dining. Then tell them that you want to order a customized cake, and they'll give you the contact info for the pastry chef. :thumbsup2

Hi. I suspect this question has already been answered, but I can't find it.

We just called the cake hot line and at the beginning of the message is says that you can order a "standard" cake at any Table Service restaurant. My question can they do any decorating to that. We are celebrating our daughters 17th birthday and would at least like Happy Birthday on the cake. Can anyone who has done this, please Let us know.

Thanks

Decorations vary, but usually there are buttercream swirls and some sprinkles or candy confetti. They have interchangeable white chocolate discs they can put on top that say Happy Birthday or Congratulations, etc.

A few questions for anyone who has ordered from the Contemporary.

1. Do they allow you to order a 6 inch or 8 inch cake as a custom specialty cake? There are only three of us, so 10 inch seems a bit excessive!

We had to order an 8-inch even though there were only 4 of us. Policies seem to differ among bakeries - the GF lets you customize a 6-inch.

2. Do they have the same flavors as the Grand Floridian?

No. The Contemporary only offers:

Flavors:
yellow
chocolate
marble

Fillings:
white chocolate mousse
chocolate mousse
butter cream (vanilla or chocolate)
fruit mousse
custard and strawberries

3. Do they automatically paint the white chocolate figures (i.e., Tinkerbell) or is that something that needs to be requested/costs extra?

Needs to be requested, costs extra. ;)

I have seen the things that can be ordered at AKL for the room (the chocolate animals) and the chocolate covered strawberries at GF. I was wondering if there was anything special I can order staying at the Boardwalk Inn. I would love to surprise my love with something special when we are there in October.

You need to call the BoardWalk Inn - (407) 393-5100 - and ask for Private Dining. The selection varies by resort and changes all the time, so only they can tell you exactly what they have. :thumbsup2

Lurkyloo .. i wasn't sure if i ever thanked you for all the info you gave me on ordering DD's cake so here it is .. Thankyou :thumbsup2

I will be phoning this week to see what i can order .. wish me luck everyone

Good luck! I can't wait to hear how it turns out! :goodvibes

I have read on the board that at restaurants you can order a 6 inch cake to celebrate. We will be celebrating my DH's 30th birthday while at disney world and I was wondering if you could get the cake delivered to your resort room? How much do they cost? And where can I order one? Thanks!:thumbsup2

Only the resorts that offer room service (a.k.a. Private Dining) can deliver a cake to your room. At the other resorts, you may be able to have one delivered to the table service restaurant or buy a 6-inch choc/choc or vanilla/vanilla cake at the food court. Prices range from $21-$100 and up, depending on how fancy you want to get.

To order one for you room, call your resort and ask to speak to Private Dining. To order one for a meal at a restaurant, use the Cake Hotline number listed on the first page of this thread.

We are going to be celebrating 2 birthdays on our next trip.

Does anyway know where to get a good Goofy cake or if we can order one from one of the disney bakeries to pick up since they don't deliver to Pop Centry.

Next cake is where to locate a good Cheshire Cat cake or can we order one from one of the disney bakeries and pick it up.

BoardWalk Bakery is the only Disney bakery that lets you pick up a cake. You can call and ask about your options for cakes with those characters on them. You need to call the BoardWalk Inn - (407) 393-5100 - and ask to be transferred to the bakery.

You might also try Publix - their cakes are cheaper and taste better, and there's one not too far form WDW.

My dd is turning 15 and wants to eat at 50s Prime Time for her bday dinner. Can I do a special order cake in the design of the Mad Hatter cake but only the first layer and have it at this restaurant? THANKS!!! I'm trying to surprise her.

You'd need to call the Cake Hotline and follow prompts for DHS and then 50s PrimeTime Cafe. Theme park restaurants don't have as much variety and flexibility in the cake department, though, so I'm not sure you can get a Mad Hatter cake there. Someone posted on this thread a few months ago that they were told they could get one at a DHS restaurant, but we never heard how that turned out.

THANKS FOR THE PICTURE THAT CAKE IS SO CUTE

SO IF I NEED A CAKE SIX DAYS AFTER WE ARRIVE FOR CRT DO YOU THINK i CAN JUST ORDER IT ONCE WE GET DOWN THERE

I'd call 2 weeks in advance unless you want only a basic cake. :thumbsup2

Lurker coming out of lurking here :wave2: Anyway, I have been lurking to get ideas for a cake for our 15th anniversary in May. I was originally going to get it at the California Grill on our actual anniversary but our restaurant has always been the Yachtsman. DH in fact just had me add an ADR for our first night to dine at the Yachtsman so I think I will get the cake there. We are staying at the BC so any leftovers would be easy to take on back to the room.

My questions are these if you lovely cake lovers can help a girl out:
1) I am interested in the cake below but do they have any non edible cake toppers? There is a figurine that I have my eye on and if the bakeries don't have access to it I would be happy to send it to them before we arrive. Can this be done?

2) Are the cakes delivered to the Yachtsman done by pastry chef's like at the GF and CR?

I am sure I will have more questions but in advance I would like to say thanks to all of you for this very informative thread.

Not sure about #1 but I'm thinking they would do that for you if they can. :)

Regarding #2. I believe a Yachtsman cake would of the same quality as the CR and GF cakes. They have their own bakery and I've heard nothing but good things about them. I believe someone who posts here knows someone very well who works in the bakery and she of course, highly recommends them. ;)
