Hi everyone, Wow the cruise is really getting close now - its great to see there are loads of other compulsive planners like me out there! I've been wondering how much longer I have to wait before its acceptable to drag the suitcases out??

We were so pleased when we logged on to Disney today to find we have been assigned our cabin. We were a GTY CAT6 and we have been allocated our cabin midship on level 6 as requested. Myself (Paula) and my DS 11(Tyler) and DS 8 (Samuel) all suffer from motion sickness so we didnt want to take any risks. We didnt have any problems on the 4 night Wonder cruise we did in 08 - Its a bit different bobbing around the Caribbean as oppossed to crossing the Atlantic though. We will be bringing plenty of ginger - that seems to work for us.

My DH (Gary) loves the rough seas. It doesn't bother him in the least.

We are staying in England the week before the cruise and are really looking forward to showing the boys all that England has to offer. Gary and myself have both been there several times over the years but never with the kids. Our boys are mad keen soccer (football) players and I love the Royal Family so I'm thinking we will fit in very nicely :)

I notice there are some more Aussies on the DISBOARD now - I think that makes 5 families in total - Disney Cruise line is not well known down here. Our travel agent mentioned it in passing to us one day and now we are hooked - I'm already eyeing off the Alaska Iterinery.

We have just completed all our ADR for the 2 weeks in Florida following the cruise - I can't believe how quickly those spots fill up!

No... it's never too early to drag out the suitcases!:cool1:

And welcome to this chatty group.

Another Disney fan ??? so that makes 3 of us, who knew? our very own Disney community :) can't believe we've booked onto the same cruise though!

I once ran into someone i knew from home in the Magic Kingdom in WDW. i was just walking down Main Street and heard someone calling my name. You never expect to fly halfway around the world, go into a theme park with tens of thousands of people and bump into someone you know.

It is a small world after all.

SW

Similarly weird story we ran into my Aunt and her family in Magic Kingdom once! None of us knew the other was on holiday! Very odd!

Also on the 11 night cruise on the wonder, we were having lunch in Parrot Cay and my Dad noticed that the chef on the bread stand had a badge saying Wales. Well he got chatting turned out he was from Newport like us. Then my Mum was chatting to him and said where she worked. Turned out my Mum used to be his Aunts boss! It was amazing! Far too small a world sometimes!

Bummer! Hopefully we'll get a different perk! I suppose the $100 per person onboard credit was a good one! ;)

Sounds horrible, Good excuse to spend the day relaxing, I hope you feel better soon. :daisy:

:welcome: Mandy and Mark!!!

Is anyone planning on going to the :hmghost:MNSSHP:hmghost: at MK after the cruise??

Thanks! Still not feeling great but Im sure this can't last much longer!

As for MNSSHP were still not sure on this one. Only there 6 days so not sure really

That sounds a really good idea. :)

As you know Sarah we are staying at this Rennaisance Hotel, but didnt know they had a shuttle to the port. We have booked disney transfers for our Med cruise and the TA one. I wonder if we can cancel the TA one as we havent paid yet ?.
Hope you start to feel better soon Sarah, flu really knocks you out doesnt it.
:

Sorry Jan. Should have mentioned it earlier! I think though you can cancel transfers up until the date. We cancelled ours to the airport after the WBTA on the day before we were meant to take it and just had to send our tickets for the bus unused back to DCL. I would assume as you have yet to get documents (I assume the med ones haven't come through yet?) you wouldn't have this issue?

Oh and thanks for the well wishes!

Hi and welcome.

Early September will be a great time to be in London and anywhere here to be honest. The schools will be back so everything will be much quieter too.

Don't worry, I have a case with loads of stuff in including clothes where I've started to work out what to take! You can join me in the "have I already packed that" stakes!

Also ginger ale at dinner! Its free in the restaurants!

I have done one ADR I think that's it this time! I think well just go with the flow as last time only made about 25% of our ADRs as kept phoning and cancelling each morning due to the allergic reaction and asthma! Not going to tempt fate again this time lol

I'm not so fussed on the variety shows either. I don't mind the ventriloquists so much (especially the adult shows) but I don't like the magicians.

I think its going to be quite a crowd. We've always booked cat 11/12 and have yet to stay in one - we have got upgraded to a 9 or on the EBPC, we got moved to a cat 4 after a few nights due to a leak above our bed - the gods were smiling on us to get such an "upgrade".

I'm with you there, Not a huge magician fan at all.

I have to put restrictions on myself or I'd be packed now! We aren't going to need summer clothes through Winter so I would really love to make a start! I have been buying bit's and pieces and throwing them in a big basket.:thumbsup2
That would be us, 1 of the Aussie families.

I have started buying small size toiletries, Disney stuff for kids and stuff. It's a bit of a bummer that we get to the USA at the END of this cruise. Shopping is so cheap there compared to here, I would have loved to have bought my entire cruise wardrobe in the USA! :rotfl:

ADR's, I have made 10 ADR's and BBB appointments, along with tickets for Discovery Cove, Seaworld and of course WDW. I think I'm all set ;)

For those of you with kids, what special activities do they have for kids? I read something about a Tea with Alice on one of the blogs. My kids did something similar at Grand Floridian a couple of years ago and would love this!!! Anything else???

Oh just remembered the Disney tickets. Something for me to look at lol

I also read about a sleep over thing for kids!

Well, they're only 36 hours old at this point and I was able to get them away from mom for a quick photo shoot. Mom said unequivocally and emphatically "NO" to having her picture taken as her hair hadn't been done for days and she did not want to be seen in public looking looking like a dirty mop!

We are!!!! My hubby LOVES MNSSHP!

Today is our 6 month wedding anniversary! I can't believe I've been married for 6 months - it feels like it was just yesterday!

Congrats on the anniversary!!! Time does fly, huh?!

We'll be at MNSSHP, too! This will be a first for us.

It strange not coming down to Hatboro for the weekend anymore... I can't believe it's been 6 months already!
LOVE that area of PA. We used to fly out for a huge dog show weekend every October (King of Prussia, Devon, Hatboro). It was always fun trying to figure out what the weather might be like; do you pack warm clothes and bundle up or summer wear for Indian Summer!!

I have 48 people on the list so far - I'm not sure how many of those may have dropped off though - I'll follow up nearer the time.

We're still planning on it, Paula! Hope it works out (and thanks for keeping track of it all!)

Thanks Sarah! It seems to have come on suddenly too which isn't nice. Dan had the joys of trying to cool me down with wet flannels on Thursday night as I was on fire but claiming I was cold! Not fun! Today we seem to have gone to the cold sweats stage! I hope this passes soon!

I'm sorry that sounds rotten!

Oh, how cute. I certainly understand how mum feels!!!:lmao:

Thanks! My chest feels like its been ripped apart today thanks to coughing most of the night. Just wish it would clear up now!

Oh, that night time coughing is dreadful and you have my sympathies. Hope you feel better very soon Sarah.

Hi folks!:rolleyes1
Looks like we'll be joining this merry band of swashbucklers!pirate:
Dh has just told me he secretly booked this as an anniversary surprise!!!:cheer2:
I know a few of you from other threads and holidays.....but I don't think I'll manage to catch up on everything this late in the day!:thumbsup2

Look forward to joining in some of the fun:woohoo:

I still haven't gotten over my excitment about the purses!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:
Is it September yet!!!:lmao::lmao:

Oh I have a feeling I am going to have to hit myself every time I say "last time they did this" because I think I'm going to feel the same way. Dan wont know any difference so Ill have to avoid saying it so he doesn't feel bad too! Oh well!

Oh and thanks for the get well soon!

I know what you mean! The last WBTA was so amazing, it's the reason we're doing it again!

Thanks! My chest feels like its been ripped apart today thanks to coughing most of the night. Just wish it would clear up now!

Hope you feel better after today.

Welcome to the new people on our little cruise meet: looking forward to 'meeting' you on The Boat!

And those puppies are super cute. I want to smell them and kiss them and carry one around with me. I looooooove that puppy smell: like damp newspaper and sweet musk, or something. Our dog previous to our dog now (a white Standard Poodle) was a Dalmatian. There is nothing cuter than a little of Dal puppies. They have the sweetest faces and the softest velvet fur! When we went to pick out our Divah, her litter was about 12 puppies and I sat in the whelping box and they were running all over my lap. It was the strangest and most amazing sensation! Enjoy those babies, even amongst the chaos of moving!

Oh, how cute. I certainly understand how mum feels!!!:lmao:

Thanks Marilyn - and everyone else! I just need something to knock me out at night and Ill be fine. Dan can sleep through anything luckily!
