Thank you for sharing that, now I don't feel so bad. I tried on a cami type yesterday too - had the same thought. Got them on ok but trying to take them off was a real bear. Got them partly over my head and then couldn't get them to move Only the thought of the how I would never live it down if they had to call the fire department because I couldn't breath made me continue to fight and finally it popped off like a rocket. Could have hurt someone if there had been two of us in the room. I stumbled out of the dressing room, my hair looking like I had been caught in a wind storm, and when the sales clerk asked if I wanted her to ring it up for me I just gave a weak smile and said "no thank you." We are packed....3 bags, 45 lbs, 42 lbs and 34 lbs. :thumbsup2 We could take another bag, but don't want to deal with anymore than we have to. We got enough mentionables in there so that I will not have to wash any of them until we get to BCV and we won't even have to turn them inside out!! Dennis will just have to pack up his CPAP in the morning and then we will head over to Spokane, visit our friends in Coeur D'Alene, ID on the way and have him drive us to the airport hotel and then car sit for us for the month. I love it when a plan comes together!! :cool2:
:thumbsup2
Good morning .... D Day minus 4

Didn't sleep well as my mind was still buzzing and my "to do" list kept popping up .... hopefully will achieve a few jobs today and then I might get to sleep tonight.

Have fun Corinna ...... are you going to Alton Towers ?

I used to love the TV show " The Love Boat " when I was a child .... in fact, I think it was that show which inspired my love of cruising and ships in general. When I was in my early 20s I worked with Princess Cruises and although I was based on the Royal Princess I visited friends on the original "Love Boat" the Pacific Princess and it was such a thrill. The show used to amaze me as they only had about 6 crew who popped up all over the place. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I also have a dog story ... we dog sat for my parents when they went on a cruise once. When I say "dog" she is more like a "daughter" to them and definitely above me in the pecking order, so basically she was their pride and joy. During the dog-sitting period DH decided to fix my parents loo seat, which was a bit loose. During the process the dog wandered into the bathroom a few times, which was ok, until DH came to look for the screws to put the loo seat back on. We searched everywhere, and checked the dog's mouth etc as she was a retriever and prone to putting thing into her mouth and carrying them around, but nothing was found.

A few days later, the dog started foaming at the mouth and appeared unwell, so we took her to the vets. The X-ray showed the screws lodged in her intestines and there was no option but surgery. My parents were due home in 3 days and phoned daily to check on their "princess" so rather than spoil their cruise when they could do nothing about it, we kept quiet about the dog and just said yes in the right places. It wasn't easy though.

Miraculously the dog pulled through, but it was touch and go for a while and my heart was in my mouth .... and we told them when they arrived home. They said we should have told them, but I still think I did the right thing.
:confused3:confused3:confused3

Ok .... enough chatter now .... I'm off to do cruise jobs !!!!!

Stupid dog.

Good morning all....has anyone heard anything about the entertainment we will have on the cruise? I know I am going to be watching a lot of movies during these 14 nights......
Thanks all....
Tom

My DH and I are having a disagreement, I say the verandah rooms come with bathrobes he says no. Who wins? We are packing and robes take up so much room that I don't want to bring one if I don't have to. val

They do not. Sorry!

Hi Sue,

When my DW and I were in Florida last winter, the girls were selling cookies to be delivered to the troops in Iraq & Afghanistan. Since I'm gluten-intolerant, and can't eat cookies anyway, I bought some boxes for the troops. Since I'm a Scout leader, I always buy Girl Scout / Girl Guide cookies, even though I can't eat them, and that seemed to me to be a perfect solution. If this "cookies for the troops" is still going on, can I buy four boxes, and pay you onboard? :flower3:

See You Real REAL Soon!
Richard

Their troop of Daisys are not doing this - BUT she will see if any of the older girls are. What a great casue!

Bathrobes. You could order the gift that has bathrobes and wine and ? other things, then you would only have to take them home. We did that when it was the Romantic Escape at Sea thing that they don't do anymore and the robes are great. They do shrink a bit o washing and in the dryer, but are so massive to begin with it is ok.

Don't bring the robes. I have no idea if the verandah rooms come with robes but I say don't bring the robes. Live dangerously. ;)

Stupid dog.

Indeed !!!!!

I a just about getting to the end of the scavenger hunt sheets ...... printing them all off as we speak. I hope I don't run out of printer ink.

I have also exfoliated and applied some Dove "summer skin" so hopefully I will look like I have a healthy glow. Still haven't pack though, and still have a pirate skirt to make. :scared1:

My husband is not smiling when I make comments about how many things I am taking!!! Me thinks I will be getting some very sarcastic comments or big moans when he lifts the cases.:confused3

Well done Angie. I am so impressed with everyone who can pack sensibly. I do rather think I will be taking some things out of my bags. One thing in my favour is that much of the toiletries, sun cream etc will be used by the end of the cruise so hopefully one bag might be slightly lighter by then.;)

You don't even want to know how many suitcases we are taking. To give a hint, United allows us 3 bags each at 70lb or for our over the pond neighbors, 31.7514 kg

I had a bad night too. I was so tense by bed time my back was so bad.It hadn't been good all day. Not sure if it is something completely different to the usual problem I have or not, but I just couldn't sleep. I'm really hoping once I get away and relaxed everything will settle down.:)

pixiedust: and prayers that your back issues are just stress!!

Isn't it ridiculous really. This is supposed to be an exciting time, but we get stressed out. But, that means everything will be planned ready for us to enjoy ourselves completely!!!:dance3:
John has been constantly reminding me we are going "on vacation" not on a business trip. I guess with all the tour planning I have been approaching this as if we were going on a business trip so I need to get into vacation mode!!

We are putting all the suitcases in the car today as soon as he finishes making the magnets. I will then call Air Berlin and pay for our excess baggage. At that point, we are done with the preparations for the trip!!

John is hoping that both of us having a mani/pedi on Monday will help me to relax.

As for me, I think I just need to be on the airplane on Monday so I can just relax and go with the flow. Whatever I have forgotten to pack or do, I will just have to deal with it.

We are going to the airport quite early as DD Samantha needs to be at work at 4:00 PM so we are going to hang out in the Red Carpet Lounge. John and I have decided to go over all of our trip plans at that point so we can get the schedules in our Kindle as PDF's as I don't want to carry much paper with us as we walk around Barcelona.

It´s been really warm in BCN. Today is in the 80´s, hot and sunny. My ipod weather predicts that all next week will be hot and sunny. Found out we do have ac at the Pratik. I asked the desk for a fan and the girl said ¨doesn´t your ac work?¨ Dummy me said that I didn´t know how to turn it on. She told me about the little white remote control that we had thrown all our things on top of. Anyway we have ac and I shorted out my computer. I guess I can´t have it all.

We took the train to Montserrat today. Left early in the morning, took the 7:36. arrived before the tourist buses. We had the whole place to ourselves with about another dozen people. Really easy to do. By 10:30 there were hordes of tourist.

For those of you leaving soon, have a safe trip.

That was good of your hubby... very sensible.

BUT , I wish everybody that went on vacation would leave instructions re there pets... I work in emergencys, this happens ALL The time, people wont make a decision re a pet they are looking after until they contact the owner.
This is really frustrating and totaly not fair on the animal in question.

I leave simple intstructions for my pets.. NO HEROICS.
If in doubt take the vets advice, dont waste time trying to get me in my pet is suffering, if it is the wrong decision ot doesnt matter just make one.
Countless times we end up with animals needing pts but carers just wont sign the paper, folks just done talk about it with pet sitters...ie are you happy to make that hoorible decision and am I happy to let you make it, I understand its not something that we want to think about but please do.

Good advice Lynne

We've just done some packing.....seem to have enough room hopefully.....just have to weigh them now but I think they'll be ok...all 4 cases!:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

......and MArilyn...I hev managed to cull several tops, some trousers and shorts! :dance3::thumbsup2

I think I will be more relaxed once I am in the air and on the way. As for on board, as long as I can make it to all our activities somewhat on time, I will be fine. Serves me right for signing up for so many activities!!

We had treatment booked for the spa, we were told we could go back to our rooms withthte robes on, which we did, it was really nice, anyhow, the next day the room person asked us is we wanted to use them of if he should put them in the laundry, so if you have a spa thing booked you could always borrow one from there for your cruise.

Once you are away you will be fine, I am lloking forwrd to tom away from work, but have SO much to do.

DH John & I are headed to DS's this afternoon. DS will take us to the airport in the morning for our flight to Orlando and then we board our magic carpet for Barcelona Tuesday. Bags are packed...only 2 to check in. How did I manage that?

Only kink in the plans is my arthritis & bursitis in my hips has decided to rear its ugly head. Got plenty of pain pills but hate to take them. Guess it's time to suck it up and swallow those bad boys! Hopefully that will help me sleep on the plane as well as take care of the pain.

If we don't see you around Barcelona, see you aboard the Magic!

Jackie

Ok ... 4 cases ... don't rub it in !!!!!!

I am trying to squish everything into just 2 big wheeled bags and 2 small cabin bags !!

I know what you mean!! If I hadn't started packing weeks ago, I would be in a tizzy!! I need to learn to pack with much less items as that is a skill I have never acquired. Either that or I need to become filthy rich so the excess baggages fees will not bother me so much!!

Are you doing all the booze meets? Now then you will be relaxed!!

Well that is a good idea.

I have just packed a lightweight cotton robe for me. John isn't bothered fortunately, so that means another T shirt can stay in the bag!!:lmao:

Just want to say, because people are up and travelling at all times now and I will miss some folk saying goodbye.

Have safe and enjoyable journeys and see you on Saturday if not before at the HRC meet or in the Praktik Rambla.

I haven't downloaded the Navigator to my iPad yet. Is it easy to do? I'm a novice who finds it hard to learn!!
