Ridin’ Solo – ‘Une Personne S’il Vous Plait’ **COMPLETED (Plus Lunch At Walt's)**

It mus be a wonderful and very strange feeling to walk around alone.

It was wonderful but it was also nice when there were a few more people around :goodvibes

another great installment :thumbsup2.I'm so glad you also enjoyed the Blue Lagoon, after all the bad reveiws on here I was in two minds about trying it,But I am so glad I did.

I had the parrot fish but debated between that and the Capitaine fish so it is nice to see what I could have had...looks lovely.

Patiently waiting for the next instalment :surfweb:

You're right, there are lots of bad reviews and I nearly cancelled but I am so glad I didn't. If nothing else the atmosphere is wonderful :cloud9:

You know, most of the photos I've seen with Captain Jack Sparrow in them feature the ladies of the group, not the kids :lmao::lmao: (wonder why that is :rolleyes1??)

Yeah funny that isn't ;) when he called me 'darling' I thought I was going to faint

and when I think that pirates of Caribbean will be closed at time of my visit :sad1: do I have a chance for such a photo?

anyway, wonderful photos and wonderful TR. More more more!!!!!!!

I am sure Jack will still be around, check the show guide as he is listed as an official meet and greet :thumbsup2

We obviously have the same taste in booze, I also had that same cocktail in Blue Lagoon :rotfl:
My favourite restaurant at DLP so I'm very glad you enjoyed it! Loving your trip report and looking forward to more.

Great minds think alike :goodvibes loved your last TR by the way, you inspired me to try Walt's :thumbsup2

How amazing having the park all to yourself!!!

I think I would have been tempted to have lunch with Jack - husband or no husband!!

Fab TR, love the food photos too... popcorn::

Thanks so much for reading along, I hope this isn't too long a TR :confused3

Loving the "Cocktails around the lake" All in the name of research for the DIS boards :rotfl2:

I feel it is my duty to support the DIS boards in everyway possible :rolleyes1

Cocktails around the lake!:cloud9: Linda - you are really spoiling us!:lmao:

A cocktail tour is already on our itinery - a New York, New York is now a must!

How disappointing that there aren't any nibbles at Sequoia - that's where I'm staying!

Were the cocktails on the pricey side?

I can't wait to hear what you think about the 'New York, New York' :yay:

The Sequoia Lodge bar was very busy so my server may have just forgot to bring any.

It really is a lovely hotel, one of the best in my opinion and you are going to have a wonderful time

The cocktails run at around 12 - 14 Euros in the hotel bars so yes, they are a bit pricey but hey you are on vacation - spoil yourself

Linda I am thoroughly enjoying every second of your TR and I don't want it to end!! "Cocktails around the Lake" is absolutely fantastic!! :thumbsup2

I have to say, you've inspired me somewhat too - I have now booked my very first solo-trip to Disneyland Paris in August for 3 nights and the more I read your TR, the more excited I am getting for it!!

I must remember that I will be on my own, and therefore limit myself to ONE cocktail per hotel when I pay homage to you in a "Cocktails around the Lake" of my own :rotfl: Things could get very uncouth otherwise lol

Rottie155 you are going to have an absolute blast :-)

DLP is the perfect venue for a solo trip :-)

I would like to thank you for your selfless efforts on our behalf in the name of research, we are truly grateful... :worship: :worship: You know we all like a good cocktail review! ;)

When I had a cocktail in the Redwood Bar we didn't get snacks either, but then we did have our birthday cake from Cafe Mickey which we were attempting to finish!

p.s. your "kebab" looks pretty good!! :rotfl:

Just caught up with your TR. Absolutely loving the "cocktails around the lake" :thumbsup2.
Looking forward to the next installment.

:worship: The new york new york cocktail looks fab, its on my list too! we're doing a similar expedition next week, cant wait to try all the yummy cocktails. paracetemol is packed for the fuzzy head already.

your trip looks so nice and relaxed. i think your winning over the masses in favor of solo trips! and no youre not rambling - a love a good long, detailed TR.
Cant wait for more!

I'm impressed with your dedication to the cocktail cause!! I also had one in every bar, but I did them a night at a time, I'll need to adopt your approach next time it seems way more fun :rotfl:
The New York bar was busy every night when we stayed there in November - occasionally with live jazz music too - and I can confirm that it was our favourite hotel bar of them all as a result! You'll just need to go back on your next trip in the hope that it will have more buzz about it :thumbsup2
Can't believe the amazing weather you had too, lucky thing!

I would be more than happy to conduct another research trip in the very near future - such is my dedication

Aww thanks so much :goodvibes I worry that I am dragging this TR out too much but it's nearly finished :thumbsup2

I would love to re-visit the New York City Bar at a busier time and it really was a lovely setting
The staff were wonderful in there as well :thumbsup2

After a wonderful night’s sleep (I wonder why that was :rolleyes1 )

I was up bright and early and excited at the prospect of Pancakes for breakfast

IMG_1606.jpg

Look, there is fruit on the plate so it must be healthy

I got a table by the window again and just loved looking out at the castle

Just before 8am I headed out to the Disneyland Park entrance and yes, I was the only one there again.

I walked into the empty park and a lovely CM congratulated me on being the first person in the park.

I set up my Gorilla-Pod Tripod on the Bandstand at the top of Main Street to get a solo shot

IMG_1614.jpg

Something had been troubling me in my alcohol fuelled dreams last night. I couldn’t remember seeing any English dolls inside ‘It’s A Small World’ so I decided to go and check it out (yep, they are there, right at the beginning, mocking me with their cold eyes )

Next I headed to Discoveryland and jumped onto the front row of Space Mountain before heading off to try and improve my score on Buzz

My plans today were centred around The Studios, specifically Crushes Coaster and Toy Story Playland so I decided to head over in plenty of time for park opening

IMG_1620.jpg

By the time the gates opened there was quite a crowd waiting to get in and as soon as everyone got through the turnstiles there was a mad dash to Crush’s Coaster

IMG_1292.jpg

I ended up being third in the queue behind a very pleasant French couple so ended up sharing the first Turtle Shell of the day with them

This was my first time on this ride and I thought it was great; it seemed very fast and was lots of fun

Just as we approached the disembarking platform at the end of the ride all of the lights came on and the ride stopped.

What was cool was that I was facing back into the ride building so I could see the track all lit up.

Within seconds CMs released the lap-bars and we got out of the ride vehicle.

I have no idea how long the ride was down for but by the time I was back outside the wait time was already showing at 45 minutes so I think I was lucky to get on so quickly

Next I walked on to Race Car Rally (yes I know I am too old but it was a walk-on!!)

IMG_1622.jpg

I then headed into Toy Story Playland

IMG_1644.jpg

First I rode RC Racer which I though was great (just wish it was longer)

IMG_1642.jpg

IMG_1640.jpg

Slinky wasn’t working so next I headed to the Parachute Drop which was already showing a 20 minute wait but I used the single rider and walked straight on

IMG_1634.jpg

IMG_1636.jpg

As I walked back towards the exit I noticed that Slinky was just being tested so I asked the CM when it was going to open and he said ‘right now’ so I was first on and bravely sat at the front ;)

IMG_1639.jpg

I had done pretty much everything I wanted to do in record time so I decided to go and check out The Art Of Animation which was just about to start and then the 11.30 Light’s Motors, Action Show (I really enjoyed both)

Just as I was heading out of the Park I noticed the Big Cheese was out so I hopped in line for a photo

IMG_1648.jpg

I actually ended up buying the official photos as they came out really well, I’ll scan one later if I remember

The weather today was absolutely gorgeous so I headed back to DLP and grabbed a coffee from the Market House Deli and sat at a table outside watching the word go by :cloud9:

I had a little bit of time before my lunch reservation so I headed to Pirates, BTM and Phantom Manor (all walk on) and had a wander around the maze

IMG_1696.jpg

NEXT UP LUNCH AT WALTS

Thanks for the trip report and gorgeous photos! Loved the look of the Blue Lagoon - think I'd love sitting by the water watching the boats float by - plus those cocktails - yum!:)

IMG_1726.jpg

I made a lunch reservation for Walt’s before leaving England but had thought that I may well end up cancelling and just grab counter service instead

Following my great experience at The Blue Lagoon the previous day I decided to keep my reservation and once again I was so glad that I did

IMG_1723.jpg

IMG_1722.jpg

If anyone reading is planning a solo trip I would really recommend scheduling a nice sit down meal in the Parks. It really helps to give the day a nice structure and you are made incredibly welcome by the staff at the restaurants

When I checked in I asked if it would be possible to have a window table and they said it shouldn’t be a problem

My table was in the ‘Discovery Room’ and I had the room to myself (there were quite a few people in the other rooms)

IMG_1704.jpg

I decided on the two course menu as I didn’t think I would manage three. I chose the Main Course and Desert option

This was my appetizer :lmao:

IMG_1707.jpg

Glow-Tini (well I need to get a glow cube as I had given my other one away )

I was brought fresh hot bread and butter which I nibbled on whilst admiring the view from my window

IMG_1708.jpg

For my main course I chose the Mushroom Risotto and ordered a glass of wine to accompany it

IMG_1710.jpg

This was delicious, creamy and rich :thumbsup2

I asked if I could have a short break before desert arrived and enjoyed my time relaxing and people watching :cloud9:

OK, so this is what I had been waiting for

IMG_1714.jpg

This Cheesecake was amazing, it was served with a dark chocolate twirl, caramel popcorn , fruit salad and a raspberry sauce. Oh boy this was great :worship:

I walked off my lunch by browsing the shops along Main Street and picking up some last minute gifts for home

IMG_1742.jpg

When I had bought my cappuccino earlier in the day I had been handed a voucher for a free hot drink so I took one final visit to the Phantom Manor before claiming a yummy hot chocolate and admiring the view

IMG_1733.jpg

So that my lovely DIS friends brings this trip report to an end.

I headed back to the Disneyland Hotel to collect my bag and walked over to catch the Eurostar home

There was one final bit of pixie dust to come ………………. I got an upgrade

Thanks for reading along, hope you have enjoyed it and ‘Yes’ I did bring a souvenir cocktail glass home with me
