I don't know if anyone's seen this. In Skagway, it's a tradition to paint rocks for people to see. DS works for another cruise line, but he knows I'm a Disney fanatic, so he took this photo and sent it to me-

I really like this. I wonder if we'll see this when we sail in a few weeks.

Thanks for posting the picture. We were on the Inaugural Alaska sailing (May 3-10, 2011) and while on one of our tours we were told about the rock paintings. We were told that it was a tradition that a rock was painted with all the ships information during the ship's first docking in Skagway but since it was a little damp when we were in Skagway our tour guide said that Disney probably would wait for nicer weather during the season. Glad to see DCL keeping up the tradition.

We visited the wall on our July 5th cruise. We could see the DCL one from our ship (especially since it was new and bright white) but the Carnival ship in port with us was blocking many of them. So after our excursion on the White Pass rail we walked over to see them. Some of them date back to the 1920's! A very cool tradition and I encourage anyone visiting Skagway to check it out.

They must have just finished it because when we were there 2 weeks ago the bottom (saying 1st Alaska season) was just being stenciled in.
