The Jersey Boys/Jersey Girls

Being irish myself, I would say st.patty's day will be celebrated with a few beers and some good friends company. I haven't gone to the city to celebrate in a few years. I know better-the city will be a freakin zoo that day.

how r u gonna celebrate it??

I have no choice, I work in the city and have to cross over midtown to get to the east side and back to Jersey. :scared1:

How was the Meet/Trade? I wish I could have gotten there. Are you as disappointed in the new Times Sq Disney store as I am?
I did my first SWW last year & it was great-you are going to have alot of fun!
I'm a D23 member but I havent been to 1 single event yet!
:confused3

I am soooo disappointed in the new store. The WOD on 55th and 5th was a thousand times better!

The meet/trade went fantastic!!! :thumbsup2
We got a really good response, so I'm hoping for even more fun time if we do another one in better weather.

Everyone traded for something they wanted, met some new friends and we walked over to the Times Sq store and peeps did a little more trading. :goodvibes

Then a couple of us went out to lunch/dinner which was really nice.

Personally, I was able to finish my Animation series and got a heck of a start on Urban 5 (and I promised myself I would *not* be collecitng urban series!).

Last week, I bought 7 more urbans from my local store and only got 2 doubles! the other 5 were all ones I needed, plus I got the chaser!! :wizard: Now, I only need armour mickey to complete my set.

It's not that I am disappointed in the Times Sq store, it's just that it is so small and crammed with merchandise, it's to even move around. I do like the old store much much better because of the space and the art level.

What a great thread! Morris County here, and I have to say the best thing about living here is the sheer convenience of being so close to NYC but being far enough away so as not to be consumed by all of the congestion.

So many great things to do in Disney, but one of my all time favorites is looking down on nighttime London on Peter Pan's Flight. It's my fondest memory of WDW!

I'm heading back down from October 8-15th, so I'm super pumped for the Food and Wine Festival!

Well welcome to the thread...most of us kinda wander in and out of here but you know you can always come home!
I do have to share with you all something quite amusing...well at least it was to me. 2 weeks ago I had the honor of watching my bff win his body building competition which he worked very hard for. the competition was in Indiana...when I tell you I drove for hrs and saw nothing but cornfields and trees I mean it...:scared1:
anyway, I met his family and when he told them I was from NJ they all said "Joisey? you don't sound like your from Joisey...."
being the polite person I am, I humored them and let them ask all the questions they could about the state...and of course I proudly answered....no we don't pump our own gas...yes you can take a ferry to NYC....no none of the people on The Jersey Shore are actually from NJ...
so here's my question to you all.....
when you travel out of the state or meet people from another state, what's the one mis-conception people have about NJ?

Welcome!!!!
I did Food & Wine for the 1st time last year & LOVED it! :lovestruc
Celebrating Thanksgiving there this year!

Greetings! A Florida girl for 20 years next month, but forever a Jersey Girl at heart. There is nothing I don't love about New Jersey and I hope to move back one day and certainly end where I began.

Born Morris County and raised Ocean County. And yes, I went to the Aztec many a winter's night back when I was 21, 22, 23, 24... just like those wacky kids on that TV show. :crazy2: But we beach kids waited til winter when we had Seaside to ourselves again and it was just locals. :thumbsup2

And speaking of Disney... my current proximity to Disney is one of the only reasons I haven't gone stark raving mad living here. :scared1:

I truly love the Disney experience. Coming from a design background I find myself wandering around Dis just looking at buildings, architecture, site layout, landscaping, wallpaper, carpeting... yes I bump into people, a lot. The creativity, the planning, the magic, the life-sized green Army men with injection-molded feet!

I'd love to see some of guys there! It'll be tons of fun and for a very special cause! :)

sounds like an awesome time! I will, in fact, be in Orlando that weekend! I want to hear all about it I know you ladies will hook us up with details!

Hi all...
Raised in Hunterdon County now living in Somerville Somerset County....love all the great dining and shopping in my area....Favorite park is MK and I can't wait to see the new Tiki Room in October...Epcot comes in close second love to eat and drink through the lands.

90 degrees feels downright chilly right about now!

Any fellow New Jerseyans heading down in October? I'm heading down from the 8th-15th. Nothing like a good ol' fashoined bar crawl at the F&W festival (hopefully without the hangover the next day!)...

We will just be missing each other... I am heading down Oct 16 to the 22nd. Just a hint for the bar crawl ...by some Chaser you can purchase it in Walmart or Rite Aid...it works big time. Can't wait 82 days and counting.

Gonna have to try that!

I just miss you - 15-18 for us. Super excited for F&W though, I've never been before!

Same here, I'm super stoked that I hopefully will not be sweating my butt off for the first time in WDW!

Where are you staying? We're staying at POR Columbus Day weekend, then moving to the Swan from the 10th-15th. I may switch that since I'm interested in the S/D Food and Wine Festival going on that weekend!

I'm so jealous!! I'm not doing F&W this year but I will be down for Thanksgiving! Have fun!
:)

We're staying at OKW. We tried to get BW and BC, but it was kind of a last minute trip so we didn't get either :/ I don't care where I'm staying though as long as I'm in Disney :)

We've go in January every year too, so I've been down when we're not sweating before (two years ago we needed winter jackets lol). From what I've heard though, October can still be pretty hot sometimes, so we might still sweat a little bit lol.
