Sweet Sixteen on the Dream! The Good, the Bad, and the Crazy!

Love reading about Diser's meeting in real life. So sweet especially since I've read Missy's trip reports too.

The Chateau Elan looks really pretty. I was thinking how that staircase would be a great entrance for a bride....your DD someday maybe?:)

What a beautiful place! Thanks for sharing your weekend with us :)

Thanks! I love sharing my "non-Disney mini trips"!

I want to get married there too...and I'm already married. :lmao:

:thumbsup2

Another meeting with them coming up. We're gonna try to have some get-togethers every once in a while. It's pretty neat meeting someone on the Dis, and actually meeting up and hanging out!

Since we had a fun time meeting up with Missy & Mike, we planned another get-together. They were having a Women's Show in our area with lots of shopping, exhibits, samples, cooking demos, kids stuff, etc. They have it here every year. So I asked Missy & Mike if they wanted meet up and go there and out to dinner.

DD came across this Bi-Lo character (local grocery store)

They had a cooking demo with a local comedic chef, "The Drunken Chef". He was pretty funny and cooks with alcohol in everything.

He gave these strawberry desserts to everyone that attended, so me, Missy, and Mike each got one. Now it looks way better than it tasted. We agreed that the alcohol was a little too strong tasting to be in this dessert.

So we walked around checking out the exhibits, and came across a DISNEY one!!!!! I had to take this pic:

We also came across this dessert display with candy apples and rice krispie treats. We both said right away that it reminded us of Goofy's Candy!

We seen this little owl with the wildlife display and stopped to take a look at him.

So we left there and decided to go to the Beacon. I had told them about it and how it was featured on the Food Network show, Diners, Drive Ins & Dives.

Well, she said that was one of Mike's favorite shows! So we were excited to go there.

Here's the clip of the Beacon from that episode. It is really neat to hear the history behind the restaurant and the man that has been working there for 50 years!!

So you know me, we had to take a few pics!

Hope you enjoyed this little mini trip.

Mike said "The Drunken Chef" was annoying!! He was bold, that's for sure!!

I had to choke back the tears when I saw the man from the Beacon in person...he amazes me!

Was the food delicious? The fries look fabulous! I can never ever resist fries!

Yes, their food is delicious, and the sweet tea!!

Yeah, he was kinda annoying and a little too silly.

I know what you mean about J.C. He is really sweet. I've watched a few different videos about him on youtube. You can really get to know his story by going to some of those videos.

woohoo Im all caught up.. just in time for the last remarks...

The cruise looked amazing even for the few mishaps. Cabin steward, canceled excurtions etc. But looks like you made the best of its, thats half the battle! So how do you like the dream compaired to the others you have been on?

Also I wanted to how ask how does the photopass work on the ship? Im interested in that. Not that we are cruising disney anytime soon.. or cruising at all for that matter LOL. But you know a gal gets nosey! :)

Even with the mishaps, I really did like the Dream. I have been on the Wonder, Carnival, and Royal Caribbean. There's a few things that I liked better on the Wonder than the Dream, such as the shows. But I think Carnival has them both beat when it comes to the food. Disney's food is pretty good for the most part, but on the Dream, we found that most of the desserts were kinda plain tasting.

The way the "photopass" system works on the Dream is through a "facial recognition" type of thing. At the location where you can check out your pics, there are lots of different folders, and everyone is assigned to a folder. That's where you find all your pics instead of searching through tons of pics on the wall. You don't have to carry around a photopass type card, like you do at WDW. They just take your picture, and usually within the same afternoon, you can go find your picture in your own folder! I think it's really neat and makes it easier to get to your pictures!

Remember the Chick Fil A Mini-Moo Cow vacation contest I entered? Well, I didn't win, but my picture was displayed on the Chick Fil A bulletin board! Oh, well, we still had a good time getting those pics on our trip! So of course, I had to get some pictures of it:

Off-subject, but did ya'll know that Subway has Lion King kids meals???
Well, they have been out for about a month and I didn't even know they had them all this time! I really don't eat there often, but I wanted the kids meals reusable bags. So I did get a kids meal and asked if I could just buy the other bags, too. They said yes, so I got all the bags except for one (Simba). There are 6 different bags. The Simba one must be pretty popular because I couldn't find any Subway that had any. So I'm hoping to get that one before the promotion ends.

And inside the bags, there's little goodies, such as a ruler, stickers, and bracelets.

Not much to update right now, but I am working on some upcoming Disney plans, so stay tuned for more....................

OOOOHHHH!!!! Disney Plans in the making, excellent! Of course I think your picture was the cutest, definitely should have won :)

Cute bags from Subway! I preordered the movie from the Disney Store, so I have to pick it up from them. Just an excuse to go back to shop. :rotfl:

I hope classes are going well for you, I know it can be tough to go back :)
