Looking for some advice. I've been following the Galloway plan. I'm heading out for 3 days on the Dream Thursday and am suppose to run 7 miles on Saturday then next weekend I'm suppose to run 3 miles with my magic mile. Would it be ok to switch them? I would really rather spend my time on the ship with the fan and run more when I get home. Any thoughts?
Can you do it wed before you leave, or right after you get back? When I have a long run scheduled for a friday I can't do, I am going to try and do it that wed or Thurs instead of one of the shorter weekday runs. I wouldn't switch the weekends because then you will only have 1 week between your 7 and 8 mile runs. I would try and give your body a little more time then that if you can. If your body is okay with running that much 2 weekends in a row, then ofcourse you can just switch them :) My old body would have hip problems if I did that. I am sure there are other ways to switch them around as well.

I like to get my long runs in before I leave, but if that doesn't work out I would swap distances. I've never been on the dream, but I've heard about the castaway cay 5k run before, maybe that is an option for 3 of the miles, then maybe hit the running deck or TM for the last mile.
Have fun!

I ran on the Dream and had a great running partner, at least one afternoon,

I loved running on deck 4, 2.5 laps = 1 mile. So 18 laps of hearing the ocean as you run the straights. I did 5 days of 2.5 -3mi over 10 days.

Awesome picture! Now I want to go on a Disney cruise even more!

I have not posted for a while, but just wanted to give folks an update. When I registered for the race, my sister and friend signed up with me. Now they have both dropped out so I will be running alone. My family is coming with me to cheer me on, but I will be on the course alone. I am staying at the Polynesian and would love to meet up with folks to catch the bus to the race. I am sure I'll go to the expo alone on Saturday. We get in late Friday night, and my kids and husband will want to be at the parks.

Even though I'll be solo, I am still really excited about the race. It's the first long distance race I've done since I had kids---and my oldest is 14! I am slowly plugging along. My longest run has been 7.5 miles and it is hard to imagine going a full 13. I am trying not to think of how far I have to go. Instead I just take it one step at a time. Thanks for all your posts. It's inspiring.

I'm running solo as well and staying at the Poly. My mom is my cheerleader but will not be running. I would love to meet with someone. Last year my sister-in-law ran with me and it was so nice to have someone navigate all the pre-race stuff with. I'm most nervous about being alone through all that this year.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this picture!

That sounds live a magical way to run!

Pjpoohbear your picture is amazing!! I just love it! How magical!!

I wanted to post an update: I am running well and just started the running plan. It isn't the distance that is tough but the three days of running in a row. I am a little sore but doing well.

I am also running solo, I am staying off property but could meet a group of you at the Polly in the morning if that works. It would be nice to not be all alone.

Keep on running and think Disney!!!

This is random, I know......last year I found these awesome babydoll style tank tops at Target. They have a little support, but I need more.....however for a tank top, the babydoll style is very forgiving!

I was so excited when I saw them back today at the store and they are also online....

http://www.target.com/p/C9-by-Champion-Women-s-Babydoll-Athletic-Tank-Assorted-Colors/-/A-13541649 is the link, but if this link gets erased, let me know and I an PM you. Just search by Racerback Tank C9 and you will find it!

Yes, its the little things.......

Oh and that picture of you running with Minnie is AWESOME....now I want to go on a cruise.

Cute top! I always get the muffin top look if I wear tighter shirts since my bottoms are tighter to keep them up. Did they have more colors last year? I would love this in a black!

Love that tank, thanks for posting

Too cool running with Minnie!!!!

I almost fell off the treadmill, I was 4k into a 5k, when she jumped on the machine beside me. She has great gym etiquette, she wiped down the machines she used.

They def had black in the store I was at today. When I originally bought them, bought 2 blacks. Held up well in the wash!

I don't post a lot, but, as I have said a few pages back, I am new to running and new to RunDisney! Loving the community feel.:lovestruc I am doing the Galloway (beginner) program. I started late (11/7/11) so I was a little dissappointed in myself when reading where everyone else was on thier long runs. Well, happy to say that I have caught up on the program and am also scheduled to do 7 miles this weekend!!:cool1: I never thought I would be excited about having to run 7 miles, but, like some others, I can't wait to see if I can do it!! :scared1: I have been thinking of you all and all your inspiring words as I push myself. Trying to stay injury free and enjoy the moment!! I figured out how to load "Move it Shake it" music to my ipod and can't wait to hear it today as I go out for a run. Thanks for sharing how to download this music. Definately my favorite parade at Disney right now. If anyone has any inspiring songs that really get them going, please share!! I am just slowly getting a playlist together for my training sessions. I "reward" myslef with 1 song after I do a run. I figure that by the princess I might have enough music to last the 13.1.

My power songs..... John Williams Oylmpic Fanfare, I am telling you, you will feel like a champion running to this one..... Youtube it! My daughter is really into Indiana Jones right now, so loving that one as well.

My favorite Princess song is from Mulan, "make a man out of you".

and of course the Black Eyed Peas, great running music. I also like Beasty Boys and bunch of 80's stuff.

What website do y'all recommend for buying running shoes? Which one honors the WISH code?
I shop at runningwarehouse.com and always find great deals on their clearance shoes, plus they have free shipping and return shipping! They honor the wish code, but I have it saved in my checkout and can't remember it off the top of my head. Maybe someone else can help out with that...

Thanks for the info, I'll have to check one of my stores when I'm there!

Coach popping in....

Just wanted to say online shoes are great, but want to make sure that all of us are getting fitted in a running store every so often. It's a pain, but an incorrect pair of shoes can be one of the worse things you can own. Not throwing stones here as I order 5 or 6 out of 6 or 7 pairs online myself. I do go to the local running store just to get a feel for new shoe ideas on the market.

THanks

I used to run track in high school but always did sprints and relays. Long distance running kills me. I haven't run for a while but started with the couch to 5k app on my phone about two months ago. I'm getting an iPhone in January and I'll start the 1/2 marathon program with the run jog app. Does anyone here have any other app recommendations they like better?

Thanks for posting that pic! I love it. If only I could be so lucky.

I'm such an idiot. The thought never occurred to me to run it before we left. I guess I'm in such a mind set of doing long runs on Saturdays I never thought about it. So I ran my 7 miles today and am now packed for our flight tomorrow after work. Cannot wait to get on the ship! Thank you both for the advice :goodvibes
