Heading to NYC this summer with DH and DS15. Son and I have never been. I'm looking for suggestions for hotels. Of course, we will want to do all the normal touristy things so a central location would be great. Thanks!

Park Central is a good one. It's pretty inexpensive. Nice rooms and you are within walking distance to Times Square, Broadway, Central Park, 5th avenue shopping, etc.

We stayed at the Roosevelt Hotel in mid-town Manhattan when we went to NYC. The location was awesome! Near Grand Central Station, Bryant Park, Times Square, Broadway, 5th Ave, The Rockerfeller Plaza, The NYC Library

We took the subway to get down to the financial district to see the 911 Memorial, and up to Central Park. We walked back from Central Park so we could take in the Christmas windows at the department stores that were along the way.

Oh, that's pretty. They have a good rate right now that includes breakfast.

We stayed there last June. Loved it! Our room was small but the hotel was beautiful and the location couldn't be beat.

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt next to Grand Central Terminal. Really nice hotel. But for the most part don't expect a view anywhere except of the building across the street.

It was Donald Trump's first foray into hotels. He bought out the old Commordor Hotel and turned it into a modern-looking glass and steel building.

We stayed at the Marriott Marquis once several years ago. Very nice hotel in the heart of Times Square.

I have to say I'm drawn to staying in the Times Square area just to experience the hustle and bustle. But, we might be better off in a quieter zone.

We have Hyatt points so I did check this out already. I was hoping for a view for this trip, since it's my first time.

We stayed at the Doubletree Times Square last trip and it was fantastic! Great having the space, the hotel was lovely, the location was awesome! Couldn't fault it, not one thing.

There is a report, with photos in my TR link below.

That's where we were drawn too as well and I was worried about noise, but there was silence in the hotel, no street noise in the room at all. We looked down at times square. I loved stepping out of the hotel and being in the hustle and bustle, it was amazing. It felt handy to walk to a lot of places too.

We do need the extra space. DS and DH are huge dudes. I will definitely read your trip report.

Is anyone familiar with the Lowes Regency? We have a lot of Lowes points and qualify for a nice upgrade there. Wondering if this would be a good base for walking to lots of spots.

We've just (literally about 30 minutes ago!) booked the Edison Hotel. It's an Art Deco style hotel in Times Square. We decided we wanted to be right near the theatres as we plan to see a few shows - the theatre where If/Then is playing is right outside the back door!

I've heard and read good things about Edison and I think Times Square is such a great spot to stay, the atmosphere is so exciting.
