Modifying our info. Kelly cannot make the cruise, so it will just be Nick and I going on it.

I'm cunfused by this whole situation, I'm not understanding

I am assuming you are trying to find out more about the Fish Extender activity? I have copy/pasted one of the earlier posts from this thread that explains it all.

Here is a detailed explanation of the Fish Extender activity, including photos of fish extenders and gifts.

Absolutely- adults can (and should!) participate in the exchange! I would say the vast majority of those participating on a Podcast Cruise are adults.

Once everyone has signed up- you will have a list of those participating and cabin numbers. Then you will know how many gifts you need. You only have to deliver one time during the cruise. Of course, you can break up your deliveries into a few days if the rooms are spread out all over the ship. But one gift per cabin is all you need. Some people do one per person- but that will depend on the gift you choose.

As has been said- we get candy, mints, pens & pencils, CDs (homemade Disney or seasonal variety) "toys," lip balm, photo albums, photo frames, trinkets from where people are from, key chains, air fresheners, magnets and so much more!! Be creative!!

Finally- you can simply Google "fish extender gifts" and "fish extenders" and find countless ideas and examples to spark your creativity!!
If you have more questions- this is the place to ask!!

This is by no means a mandatory activity!!
If you are interested in sharing small gifts with other cruisers, I think you will find it to be a lot of fun.

This thread is for people on the 11/30 Western Carib cruise on the Magic. Many (if not most) of us are signed up through Dreams Unlimited (DU) to be part of the DIS Unplugged Podcast Cruise (PCC). But there are certainly many, many more people on the ship! There are even other DISer's on the cruise who may want to participate as well.

Jennifer is maintaining this list so those of who are participating can know how many gifts to bring.
You have 3 choices (well, maybe 4):
Be a part of the PCC/DU group
Be a part of the DIS group (not podcast cruise)
Be a part of both
Do not participate at all.

ALL options are fine. Your choice.

If you want to participate in Fish Extender - PCC 5.0/Nov. 30, 2014...

post or send me a message with the following information

DIS name
first name
ages & gender of children
cabin #

allergies, etc...

Booked thru DU/PCC? [So I know which FE list on which to put you]

I was reading the FE how-to and I see that some people have shipped their gifts to the ship. How does one do that? And if you are going straight to the airport upon disembarkation, how does one ship things home?

Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!! UPDATED AS OF 2/25/2009
" ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
" The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
" The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
" NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
" The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs.

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

Fabulous Tinkerbell Family - I am working on our gifts and some of them are gender specific. I do not want to assume the genders and be incorrect and hurt someone's feelings, so May I ask the genders of Sean and Kerry just to avoid my embarrassment?

Thanks Jennifer. Now if I could figure out how to ship something back! I understand the drop boxes at MCO are not large enough for boxes and it is a Sunday so nothing will be open. We are heading straight to the airport via Disney transfers, so no chance to stop off anyway.

Just thought of something that might work. Use a limo company for the transfer to the airport and stop at one of the resort hotels inside the world or at the Hyatt inside the airport. If I have the box taped and ready to go, I should be able send it from there.

I normally wouldn't need to do this but with the FE gifts and my over-packing traveling buddy, I think we will need to figure something out.

private limo may even stop at a post office or ups store, if they know ahead of time.
