That Foo's Boo Is Incredible!!! - Jan 14 TR *THE END 7/19 Pg. 51*

What, there are people out there that don't like LwTL??? How can anyone resist giant lemons and blueberry boy!

Add me to the list of people who have never rode figment:blush: I always wondered what was in that building.

Poor mama, its no fun being sick on Disney. But that was very sweet of you to "give" her your jacket.

Ohhhhh that brioche ice cream sandwich looks fantastic! Will have to get one of those when my "I'm only getting season passes because my big butt is not sweating in the parks in the middle of summer blackout dates are over"!

If you haven't done it yet please read the reviews of the sugar free gummies on Amazon, I about wet myself!

4 1/2 hours to see Anna and Elsa.....nope, nope, nopety, nope.

Monorail. What's it called? Monorail. That's right Monorail! Every time!

Beautiful Dooney bag!

Oh my, that sugar free candy warning is :rotfl:.

The ice cream sandwich looks yummy although I think I want to try one of the ice cream martinis myself.

Bummer you meal wasn't the best at Flying Fish. I'm not a fancy eater so I would probably struggle there but the Mousse cake made my mouth water!

So sorry your mom took so long to recover. It's sweet that y'all took her wellness into consideration with every decision you made. Some people would just truck right along and hope for the best, which rarely ends well!

Now, I'm not an ice cream fan :scared1: but now I must try the ice cream brioche sandwich!! You didn't steer me wrong with the Drunken Little Cucumber, so I will follow you on any food journey! :thumbsup2

I NEED to get one of those ice cream sandwiches!! It was definitely on my list last time but I definitely forgot about it! This go around I will hopefully not, your choices of flavours sound amazing as well!! :)

Dinner looks interesting, crappy about the steak though. I can't stand it when steaks aren't done right! At least the snapper was good and the desserts look/sound amazing!!

You certainly do need to get one of those sandwiches! They are incredible. I totally got another one in May. And I will likely be eating one again in November. :rotfl2:

The rest of the meal was good, but the steak just kind of ruined it for me.

Omg that ice cream brioche sandwich looks so yummy! Its bad that your steak was all cold in the middle, but good that they gave you free desserts. The crème Brulee looks especially good.

It's awesome! I highly recommend them to anyone!

I was happy with the free desserts. I like desserts. :lmao:

Oh my goodness the Brioche ice cream sandwich is amazing! It was our favorite treat last month! :)

How sweet of your mom and dad to get you that bag! I am addicted to all the Disney purses. Dooney, Vera and LeSportSac I love em all :thumbsup2

I'm sorry your steak wasn't better (and while they should have comped your meal) the free dessert was nice and looks yummy!

It became one of my favorites after this trip too! I remember Caitlin telling me how much you enjoyed the ice cream sandwich! They're just incredible.

I love all of the purses! I just don't like to buy too many of them, because then I can get out of hand. :rotfl2:

They definitely should have comped the meal, but I didn't want to put up a stink, so accepting the dessert was okay by me. ;)

Ooh, it looks like I need some Goofy's Candy Company sugar free gummies stat!!! I do not wanna work.

Ummmm.... did you miss uploading a PP photo or two. These ones look WAY too normal. :rolleyes2

Bahahahaha, I so get the Monorail song in my head. Always!!!

Oh dear, cold steak... BAD!!! But complimentary desserts... YUM!!

Oh I totally always check my emails in Disney. Delete... Delete... Delete... etc.

I highly recommend that everyone buy some and keep them on reserve just in case you need them. Kind of like "break in case of emergency". :lmao:

I'm telling you, I'm on a roll with the normal pictures! :rotfl2:

I avoid checking my emails in Disney, because of several reasons.

1) What can I do about it anyway?
B) Things inevitably blow up whenever I leave, and I'd rather not see it.
III) I just don't care enough.

:lmao:

The brioche snack looks simply awesome. I could use one right about now!

I was laughing so hard on the package warning for the sugar-free candy bag especially the suggestion of trying a quarter of a bag first. :lmao:

Nope! It happens to me every time I get on the monorail at Disney. DW catches me every now and then humming the tune. "But Main Street's still all cracked and broken, Sorry Mom, the mob has spoken. Monorail~ Monorail~ Monorail~~~" :rotfl:

Sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at Flying Fish. I tried the restaurant for the first time back in October solo and my good impressions of the place is solely based on a single appetizer dish - Yellowfin Tuna Tartare and Crispy Tempura Tuna-Vegetable Sushi Roll. That may have been the second best sushi roll I've ever tried (the best one still goes to Sushi Ota restaurant in San Diego). I don't even remember what I ordered for the entree or dessert. :lmao:

Try the brioche sandwich! It's so good. Make sure it's on your treat list coming up. LOL.

I checked the bag, because I knew about the warnings that come with the Haribo sugar free bears. Search Amazon, the reviews are hysterical.

Wow, that's super high praise for sushi! If I went back, I would definitely put that on my list.

I have been following (lurking) along but had to post to thank you for the info about the ice cream sandwich!!! How have I not seen it before?! I and the fam have put it on our must-do list for the fall, and we will remember your pics when we place our orders!! Thx again!!!

Of course! I love food and try to make sure I always try new things in WDW. It's a relatively new treat, so it's not widespread. I recommend following the Disney Food Blog. They show you EVERYTHING about the food there.

It was disappointing about Danielle's steak being cold. I don't think we will eat there again any time soon.

I agree. I definitely was not raring to go back after the steak disappointment.

Speaking of the sugar free gummies, have you read the reviews on Amazon? If not, you are in for a laugh! http://www.amazon.com/Haribo-SUGAR-Classic-Gummi-Bears/dp/B006J1FBLM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1404079486&sr=8-3&keywords=sugar+free+gummies :lmao:

I :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc that Disney Dooney! I haven't seen that pattern before. It's awesome!

I have seen the reviews! That's what gave me inspiration with the update! That and it was already a running joke for us before.

That pattern was definitely the one I liked the best. I had such a hard time deciding though!

Me too! I have a 24 hour work day coming up. think these will work? :rotfl2:

Plus - the first ingredient IS sugar. I'm so confused?

I am so sorry you did not love your FF meal. The apps look great. That soup looks wonderful. Yum! But a cold steak is NOT acceptable. I think comp'ing you dessert was fair. The desserts look amazing. I'm glad you enjoyed the snapper.

I have had several wonderful meals there but I always stick to fish/seafood.

Love the sweatshirt.

So sad to your trip come to a end.

Mary Ellen, I prescribe 11 gummies for your avoidance of a 24 hour work day. :rotfl2:

The apps at FF were amazing! The snapper was good too, but you know when you're just immensely disappointed in something? That's what the steak felt like. So it kind of turned me off the rest of the meal.

I know! And I finished the TR in half a year! Woo hoo me!

Caught up finally.

So Sorry your mom was still not feeling well. I am glad she took it easy and didn't try to tough it out, that could have been really bad.

4 1/2 hours - no way :)

I was glad she took it easy too. It makes it easier for us because we go to Disney so frequently.

Oh yes. 4 1/2 hours. Not happening for this girl.

Looks like a couple of nice days- glad mom could join you for part of them. Not a total washout.

Nice Jacket...... so nice of you to GIVE it to your mom... :lmao:

She was able to get the basics done, which I think was enough for her at that point.

I know, I'm soooooo nice. :rolleyes1

I had a great meal at FF but had the snapper only I think. Looked at the snapper and steak but if I had the steak too it was not memorable especially as the best steak on property. :confused3

Last days are hard but you got most of your stuff packed up early to beat the last morning rush.

Can't wait to see where breakfast was.

They are definitely overselling that as the best steak on property. Not even close.

I like to be prepared, so packing early is always the way I go.

Wow, what a great food update! :thumbsup2

I had no idea that the brioche ice cream sandwich even existed. Now I have two things I want from that place...that and the ice cream martini!

That cheeseburger flatbread looks tasty!

The chocolate salted caramel dessert looks awesome! WANT! :hyper:

I know, it was seriously like all food!

Wait, ice cream martini?! Okay, now that's something I'm going to have to try!

That cheeseburger flatbread is awesome! One of my absolute favorite things to eat on that particular trip.

Pretty much, if you say chocolate salted caramel, I'm sold. ;)

Poor Mama, I hate that she came down sick on the trip.

You are such a good daughter to take such good care of her. I love y'alls relationship, yours and your parents. I'm sure I've mentioned this before. :)

I was sad she got sick too. I've been there before myself, and it absolutely sucks.

I'm glad mom got to enjoy some of the park and not stay in the room the rest of your time there.

Your make-up was really pretty. Those are great colors! :thumbsup2 And yes, mom looked adorable on y'alls Epcot day, you really should let her have that jacket.

I was glad that she got to feeling well enough to be able to go out for part of the day. Some of the day is always better than none of the day.

Who says Living With The Land is lame?!? Those people were lame!! Don't you poo-poo on my ride! :snooty:

Buzz behind the curtain......"Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain..."
Sorry, you can take the girl out of Kansas, but you can't take the Kansas out of the girl. :thumbsup2

You tell em!

Bahahaha. Nice Wizard of Oz reference.

Sunshine Seasons is one of my all time favorite places to get breakfast. I think their quality has gone down a bit since our first time eating there in 2007 but I still like it there. Now that I've discovered so many other places to eat in Epcot, I have a hard time finding my way back there. :roll eyes:

I think generally quality of food has declined a bit at Disney, but I still find their breakfast to be really good. And since there aren't many other breakfast options in Epcot, we always end up there.

Speaking of, I'm for sure wanting to try that ice cream brioche sandwich you had! OMGoodness!! It sounds like heaven!!
It's the last thing I need, but that would have to be a for certain worthy cheat, treat. Holy smokes! I'd have NOOO regrets eating that baby! :sad2:

I learned a trick over the time it took me to lose the weight and that is, if you are going to cheat on your healthy way of eating, it better be worth the cheat.
No junky Cheetos, or some stupid thing like a crappy candy bar, it's going to be a high quality cheat, or nothing! :snooty:
That way I don't look back on the cheat and think....."I really wish I hadn't had that." :guilty:
Uh-uh ba-by!! I want to look back on that bad boy and say...."That's the best dang cheat I've had in a long time!!" :rotfl: If don't have them all that often you don't feel the pangs of guilt and you don't see the results on the scale, just a hold off from getting where you are going for a little while. Provided you're still working out religiously and going back to eating healthy ASAP. :)

I ask myself that question all of the time. Is this going to be worth eating for me? I eat things very intentionally. Vacation is a little bit different, as long as I'm tracking my steps and activity and knowing that it balances itself out. But at home, I don't eat that stuff anymore. Chips, soda, crappy candy bars. It's just not worth it at all.

I'm glad you told us about your experience at the Flying Fish, my DS21 and I were contemplating a signature dining experience and thought about going here next May. I'm glad Ty didn't like the menu, we've decided on Artist Point....I think. The menu looked the best out of all of them, at least to Ty. :) I'd try just about any of them at this point. :)

Last day is so sad. :sad1: But as often as y'all have been going, it's not as bad to hear about this time. pixiedust:

The food wasn't horrible, overall the rest of the meal was very yummy. But the steak threw my confidence in them, which was why I said we wouldn't go back for a while. I'll give it a try again at some point, but not for a while.

Beautiful Dooney bag!

I know! It's absolutely shocking that there are actually people out there that don't enjoy Living with the Land. Who would have thunk!

You'll get on Figment someday. :lmao:

You definitely need to try the ice cream sandwich. It's one of my favorite new treats at WDW.

I have absolutely read the reviews on Amazon! Funniest thing ever! It was part of why I wrote about them in my notes, because the P's and I had been discussing them at length.

:lovestruc Love your new Dooney!!! :lovestruc

Your parents at the best!!! :thumbsup2

They really are the best. I'm very blessed to have them.

That warning is the best ever. And then it makes you think...how many of the things we eat regularly have a warning like that? :rolleyes1

I want to try one of the ice cream martinis too! Now that I know they exist.

:thumbsup2

I felt really bad that it took her so long to recover. It took her quite some time after we got home.

You don't have to be an ice cream fan to enjoy the brioche, because they just put in one scoop and don't overload it. It's soooooooo good!

Follow along! I am always looking for tasty treats in Disney. :lmao:

Cute purse!!

Have you guys ever tried blueZoo? Better seafood than FF (still doesn't excuse a poorly cooked steak, at least you got dessert though).

Sad for the last day but looking forward to the wrap-up!!

Cold steak is the worst, but glad you got free dessert out of it! The worst is when then server shrugs it off like "nothing I can do!"

OMG... The Monorail song. My husband sings that every time he gets on or even sees the damn monorail. Now it's caught on with Eli. Oye... After day 2 I almost want to ride in a separate car.

I'm so trying that ice cream sandwich in July!

Yes, I also constantly think about the monorail song.

Mom's a trooper. I understand how hard it is to power through when you don't feel good (I get at least 1 migraine during our trips because of the heat). But when in WDW, how can you not want to power through ;)

yuck, cold steak. I also hate to tell them if I didn't enjoy a part of dinner. I feel like they think I'm asking for free stuff. Glad she comped the desserts ;)

So sorry mom was feeling so bad. Hate being sick at WDW. There is
nowhere worse to feel like that. :(

Cold steak is unacceptable, but those desserts look like they made up for a little!

I'm sure this is all out of order, but at least I caught up.

Okay...that ice cream sandwich went right to the top of the "must try" list for September. And it looks like Flying Fish is going to be eliminated from the rotation in September.

LOVE the bag that mom and pop got you...it's awesome and the placings are wonderful from what I can see.

Some great final photopass pictures of everyone.

Good that you got most of the packing done and wouldn't have to rush that at the last minute.

Your hamburger flatbread looks amazing, but not as amazing as those desserts at Flying Fish.

Cute purse!!

Have you guys ever tried blueZoo? Better seafood than FF (still doesn't excuse a poorly cooked steak, at least you got dessert though).

Sad for the last day but looking forward to the wrap-up!!

I haven't eaten at BlueZoo. It was actually one of the restaurants that made it on the short list for the trip, and we just selected different options. I'll have to make it over there soon.

I'll take free dessert anytime. That's not necessarily a good thing. :lmao:

Hahahaha. Nice on the monorail song.

I'm so trying that ice cream sandwich in July!

You definitely have to try it! It's so so good.

She really is a trooper. She'll push and push and often we have to tell her to take a step back. I had a migraine on our July trip, so I know. They're not fun at all.

I was happy with the desserts. :goodvibes

So sorry mom was feeling so bad. Hate being sick at WDW. There is
nowhere worse to feel like that. :(

Cold steak is unacceptable, but those desserts look like they made up for a little!

I know. I would take being sick in Disney though over being sick at home. Hahahaha.

The desserts did make up for it a bit. They were really good. :lmao:

I'm sure this is all out of order, but at least I caught up.

Out of order, in order, I'll take whatever!

YES! The ice cream sandwich should be at the top of your list for sure. Aaahhh, it's so good!

The rest of the food at Flying Fish was good, but the steak just put the nail in the coffin for me. I'll go back someday, just not anytime soon.

I'm in love with that purse. You're right, the placements were great. I was really happy with it.

That hamburger flatbread is amazing. So so good.

Catching up here (read: I'm all caught up)!

That stinks about your mom getting sick this trip. It's no fun at all to be sick in Disney or at least just not feeling up to speed. I'm glad tho that she was able to power through for those last few days.

OMG, the Ice Cream Brioche sandwich looks SOOOOO good! I wish I had stopped into the France pavilion on my trip to uncover something wonderful like that. Well, at least I was finally able to try Schoolbread. :teeth:

Sorry your experience at Flying Fish was a bit lackluster. I feel like the general consensus has become Disney does not do steak well (my friend had issues with his steak at BOG), unless you are at 'Ohana or Le Cellier.

Can't wait to hear about your last meal in Disney! :mickeyjum

She definitely powered through the best she could. I would have done the same thing myself. It definitely stinks though when you're not feeling the best, but you so desperately want to have fun.

At least you DID get to try school bread. That's a win anytime. :thumbsup2

Best steak in Disney property for me is Jiko or the Yachtsman. Even Le Cellier has disappointed me in the past.

Departure Day - Saturday January 25, 2014

Sadly, our departure day had arrived. Since we were driving, we wanted to head out early to make good time on the road. I had made some FP+ reservations as backups just in case, but we decided it would be best to just hit the road after breakfast.

We had packed everything the night before, so we didn't have much to do in the morning. I had made an 8am breakfast reservation, so we had to be out of the hotel by around 7:30am. I was up at 6:30am and we were all ready to go at 7:30am.

I put on my final Disney shirt for the trip. :(

I'm a big fan of the back of this one.

Soon, we were heading out the door and into the car. We said our brief goodbyes to Saratoga Springs and drove away. It was a lovely resort for the trip and I was happy we were staying there. It's not one of my first choice resorts, but we had a really great location.

Shortly after we left SSR, we arrived at our breakfast destination.

The beautiful Yacht Club.

This is a resort bucket list for me, and I'll tell you why. Throughout all of my Disney trips, I have stayed at every resort on Disney property except:

The Yacht Club
All of the All Star Resorts

I don't count the Swan and Dolphin, because they're not owned by Disney. I have no desire to really stay at the All Star Resorts, so for me, staying at the Yacht Club will complete my Disney rotation! Come on! It's just WWWWWAAYYYY too many points and a bit on the expensive side for me to justify the cost.

So, I suppose if I'm not going to stay there in the near future, then I'll just eat there.

Our destination was the Captain's Grille. I have actually never eaten at this restaurant, so it was another new to me place.

We were seated immediately, due to the reservation being so early.

When we were seated, I thought for sure I recognized someone from Instagram that I followed, who appeared to be a server there. I knew that she was a Disney CM, who used to be "friends" with Cinderella, Aurora, and Giselle from Enchanted. She wasn't friends with those ladies anymore, but still worked at WDW. But I wasn't entirely sure.

When we sat down at our table, our server came by and greeted us and took our drink orders. Well the girl I thought for sure was on Instagram walked by us and said to me "I love your shirt!" In that instance, I knew that it was her. I told my Mom about it, and we agreed that if she came by again, I would have ask her to come over.

Sure enough, she walked by and I waved her over. She stopped by and I said "I think I follow you on Instagram. Are you Disneyfitgirl?" She got so excited and said "OMG, I am! You follow me, that's awesome!"

At that moment, she made me stand up and gave me the biggest hug ever. She was so beyond sweet, it was awesome. She said she loved giving hugs and you could tell.

We talked briefly and she asked what we were doing that day. I told her that we were actually leaving, and she said that stunk, because she could have hooked us up for the day. I laughed, and told her no worries at all. She said she would follow me back on Instagram, so to make sure to comment on her latest photo and she would know it was me.

She talked about her love of Disney and how she loved her character work, but she chose to retire from it before Disney told her she was too old.

And you want to know the worst part? I didn't get a picture with her! I think I was so curious about if she was who I thought she was that I totally forget to get a snapshot of us. Oh well. :rotfl2:

She's @disneyfitgirl on Instagram if anyone is curious, but her name is Meghan, which I already knew. Such a nice person and so genuine.

After our conversation ended, it was time for us to order our breakfast. Pop opted for the buffet option that they have there. My choice?

Dark chocolate cherry waffles.

My Mom got the citrus infused french toast with strawberry.

Mom and I of course split ours, because we love sharing. Overall, breakfast was really good. I liked the options that they had on the menu.

Soon, it was time for us to head out. I stopped by to say goodbye to Meghan though, because she insisted that I stop to say goodbye to her before we left. Again, she gave me another massive hug.

On our way to the car, Mom mentioned to Pop that she wanted to head to Downtown Disney so she could shop a little bit. She missed out on so much on the trip, we figured why not.

Well, stupid mistake that you would think a rookie would make. None of the shops open until 10am. Am I crazy, and has this always been the case? I never pay attention I guess, because we're never in DTD that early.

Mom said there was no point in waiting, so she wanted to leave. Pop and I told her we were willing to wait, but she said no worries at all.

She just told Pop that he owed her more shopping in May. Believe me....she more than made up for it. :rotfl2:

I did take a final picture before hitting the road.

Goodbye Disney. I was telling them that I would see them in May.

At that point we hit the road for the very uneventful ride back to Illinois. Nothing exciting happened along the way in case anyone is curious. Let's remember, I don't take many pictures on road trips, because the majority of the time I'm pretty much passed out in the backseat.

However...I was super excited to use my new coloring book.

And on the way home I colored these masterpieces.

Aren't they lovely!?

We arrived home the following day around 4pm. We made pretty good time on the trip home.

All in all, it was a great trip. Even with Mom getting sick and missing out on a few things, we always have a great time together. I will always enjoy our family vacations.

AND...you guys know I will always have a trip around the bend.

In case anyone is curious, here are the upcoming trips that I have. Some dates might change, but these are the trips and players that should be along for the ride.

November 8 - 14, 2014 WDW - Mom, Pop, Myself, and my childhood friend Julia.

December 31 - January 4, 2015 WDW - Mom and I. Girls take on New Years.

February 17 - 25, 2015 WDW - Princess Half Marathon! Lots of people on this one, 12 will be there total. But readers of my July TR will be happy to know that my nephews Gavin and Joaquin will be there. :rotfl2:

May 22 - 25, 2015 WDW - My brother Jason and I. Star Wars Weekends baby!

August 7 - 15, 2015 DLR - Mom, Pop, and I are taking the littles to Disneyland!

September 3 - 7, 2015 WDW - My BFF Farrell and I go back.

Phew......that's a lot of potential trips on the books. A lot of smaller trips, more than I normally do, so that's a different approach for me. But I'm really looking forward to it.

Thank you again for everyone who followed along. I really appreciate all of my readers so much, and I'm so happy that many of you have become real friends. :goodvibes

I'll see you on the flip side in my other TRs!

I was going to do an update to my TR or PTR, but then saw one of my favorite TR writers had an update and cam here first.

I hate last days.

But I love your last Disney shirt; and the back is awesome!

I'm glad you had a good breakfast at the Captain's Grille. Ours was not good at all, but I've read so many reviews that I'm thinking we just hit a really bad day and will probably give it another try in the future.

Great job on the coloring on the way home to Illinois. :)

I'm hoping one of our dates may overlap next year. I'm not sure we'll do DL in March as planned (all depends on if/when Mark gets job); we may put it off until August. And we may end up just going back to DW and your September dates look like the dates we would go. In the meantime, I'll be in touch about getting together in August in Gurnee. :)
