Have a Photopass Question? Ask me!

I think you may not get a card but if you go to guest relations they could probably get one for you. Yes, it probably wouldn't be added to your account until you check in since the card or MB numbers needed to be linked to your account.

I had a reservation that included a free MM. It did not show up in the account until we checked in. We did NOT get a card at that time. We never needed it, they just scanned our bands for everything. You could probably also just ask the PP photographers for a PP card when you get the pictures taken. The only pictures that they may not add to those cards would be the ride photos, since those are only included with MM. Ride photos should automatically link to the bands anyway, no scanning is necessary.

thank you both
:thumbsup2

I have a quick question. I heard that guest will not be allowed to enter disney parks if their camera looks like a professional camera. Is that true?

In my experience it is not. I have a DSLR and last year took it in a backpack with several lenses. No one said a word to me about it.

I've seen spome really good cameras in the park, especially at Animal Kingdom when people use huge lenses to get good shots of the animals. Unless you bring in a professional film crew with lighting and mics I think you will be ok.

Thank you both! I didn't think that they would do that.

Hi, I was just wondering if you have permission from Disney Photo Imaging to speak on the behalf of the company. If you do not, you will want to stop posting as you do not have the authority to post on this website to assist guests. I have know cast members in the past who have tried to do this for your department and have been reprimanded. I know you are trying to help the guests but if you are not working in the media/marketing role for DPI you might not have the most up to date or accurate information.
Just looking out for you!

Thanks for looking out! No I don't but I'm not promising any official answers, basically the same answers you would get if you ask a CM in the park. If people want me to stop, I will. I just know if I was a newbie I would want some help so I thought I would treat people the way I would want to be treated.

Thanks for this helpful thread, just read through all of it and it's really cleared up almost all of my questions.

I just have a couple though if someone wouldn't mind helping me with -

I'm staying offsite so don't have a MB but will be buying one from downtown disney on our first evening. I've already bought MM and it seems as though it's automatically linked itself to my MDE account. When I buy the MB will the MM automatically go onto this when my park ticket does, or should I bring my MM card with me when I buy the MB just in case?

Not sure if anyone can help with my 2nd question but - I'm going with my friend and happily left me to sort out all of our FP+ and reservations etc. She's on my MDE account and is linked to all of our reservations & FP+ stuff however she doesn't have her own account. I know there's an option to send her a link to input her own email etc, would this allow her to edit our photos and things when we come home on MM?

Or can only one of you edit the photos?
For example could I edit a photo of us in front of the castle by say for example adding a border to it, and would it remain unedited so she could do what she wished to it on her own account? Or will any changes I make display on her MDE and vice versa?

Sorry for the complicated question and thanks again :goodvibes

Your memory maker is linked to your MDX account and so when you add the MagicBand that magic band is linked to you. Since you have the memory maker, and the magic band is tied directly to you, you having memory maker means your magic band is linked to it. There's nothing stored on the bands that grants powers or access or anything like that. It's just tied to your account.

As far as the second part, with memory maker only one person is allowed to make any edits because only your account can download the photos. If she created an account to make edits the system would charge her to download and that memory maker can't be linked to more than one person, so that would just waste time. Edits have to be done in the memory maker account.

Oh I understand what you mean, so as long as MM maker is already connected to my account on MDE, when I buy the magic band and link it to my account the MM will automatically be recognised on the band?

Thanks for your help!

It might have been covered in here already but too much to review. I am staying at a Disney resort and have magic bands. I purchased the memory maker and linked to my bands, when I purchased online they said I have to pickup my card at will call. I thought if I link to the magic band that would be all I needed.

Hi, Thank you for the awesome information and response.

I have 2 related questions I hope you can help me with. I purchased the MM for my upcoming vacation in Dec. Can I still order prints in the park from my MM? Also, can I order a CD/book with all my prints in the park or do I have to wait until I get home and do it online?

Has the ability to pre-order the PhotoPass Archive Disk for $119 gone away?? I don't need ride photos or character meals, so I was planning on saving a few bucks over MemoryMaker... but of course now I can't seem to find the pre-order price on MDE anywhere??

Prints would cost you way more in park than by waiting until you download and getting them done locally. And you wouldn't be able to get the cd made in parks.

Yeah.... The prepurchase PhotoPass archive disc is no longer available as of today.

First, thanks for all the helpful info! My DS has some sensory issues. One thing that typically upsets him is the flash on a camera. He is fine taking pictures as long as there is no flash. I was wondering is it possible to ask the pp photographers not to use a flash, especially for outdoor shots? Would the pictures still come out? Thanks.

Just looking out for you!

Cast members are allowed to post on message boards (especially if it's about common knowledge things)

For indoor shots, most likely not (outdoors is more likely)

Thanks for all the info about MM. I'm going to buy it since this will be the first time my daughter will be able to ride the big rides.

All the info I've read has convinced me to get MM for my upcoming 4 family WDW trip. However, I've got a question which you probably can't answer OP (since you work at the parks).

It's my understanding there's no "photopass" photographers associated with the Disney Cruise Line, but are you aware of any plans to make MM extend to cover shots taken by cruise photographers as well? The trip I'm planning is going to have a sea portion, and I'd love to use the MM for both parts.

You are right. There is no "photopass" photographers for the DCL. However, you can purchase a variety of photo packages for your cruise. They range in price and in what they include. I am sure there is a thread about this on the DCL forum. :thumbsup2

I wouldn't expect it to happen anytime soon. Two different companies completely and as long as a different company does photography for DCP I would be surprised to see any changes. Ditto marathonfoto.
