DIS Divas Trip! (old thread, see first post for link to new one)

I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Raquel and I'm an...oh wait, this isn't a 12 step program. Or is it?

So, I'm Raquel. I'll be Roommate #4 with Vanessa, Paula and Anjie. This will be my first trip to Disneyland, and my first trip to California. I "met" Paula and Anjie through the Oct. 2012 group and we've been virtual friends ever since. Although we've yet to meet in person, so this will be a huge adventure for us.

It looks like I have a lot of catching up to do and planning since I just decided yesterday that I'd be taking the leap and joining the Diva's. I did at least book my flights, so all I know is that I'll be flying to California from Boston in February. (Did you hear that Mother Nature? Please be good to me and make it perfect flying weather!)

Okay, so I know this place is like a ghost town, lol, and most of you are on our Facebook D.A.S.H. chatting page and our official Facebook planning page, but just in case anyone isn't here is an update I posted on FB:

Are you up to date on your trip planning? Below is a check list of what you should be doing, or already have done, for the Diva trip thus far. ALL information, links to the DIS and other websites, names, addresses, etc. can be found in the pinned post at the top of this page. (our FB page, if you cannot access that, PM me and let me know) It's all there, just click on the "See More..." and scroll through the headings to find what you need.

1. Hopefully by this time you have found your roomies and booked your hotel room. We have a group rate at the GCH.

2. Start looking at or book a flight or other mode of transportation.

3. Figure out if you will need park hoppers for the trip. If so, check out the link for our group ticket prices.

4. Take a look at our current schedule, found on the first page of the DIS, and decide which meals to sign up for. A deposit is required for all table service meals. The deadline to sign up is December 1st, and the deadline for payments is December 15. You are not considered confirmed until your deposit(s) are received by Kandace N.

5. Grab a couple friends and form a group of 3-4 then sign up for the scavenger hunt. Team sign-ups must be submitted to Linda R. by December 20. There is a cost per person and that needs to be sent to Linda by January 20.

6. Make sure Capri L. has your $ for the Meet and Greet. It is the main event that the Divas do each year. It's fun, festive, and fabulous! Do not miss out. Payment is due by December 1st. No exceptions.

7. Message Melody B. with your order for our new, super cute shirt design. Orders for that are due by Dec. 7th. No late orders accepted this year.

If I have left anything out, please let me know. The trip committees are hard at work, and we want to make this a fun trip for everyone, but we need everyone's cooperation for it to all go as smoothly as possible. If anyone has any questions or comments, please let us know. Thanks!

Since I'm planning our next family DL trip for February, I thought I'd come by to say hello to all the Diva's! Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! Chris and I surprised my son Ayden, who is now 11 yesterday morning with a countdown chain. That's what we made his first trip to DL when he was 4. It took him a few minutes to figure it out but once he did he couldn't stop jumping for joy. Looks like we'll be missing the Diva trip by a few weeks. We are going the first week of February for my (shhhh 40th) birthday. I can't think of a better place to get older.

Yep it sure is. I just stuck it in a gift bag with tissue. It's made with black and red links. It took him a few minutes but he eventually figured out. The video is priceless.

We always go the last weekend of February. It's a lot of fun and we plan many rides, meals and events. I have attended every year since the beginning. If you are going to be there anytime from 2/25 to 3/1, please come say hello if you see any or all of the group. We are hard to miss in our matching shirts. I hope you can join us!

I have not posted on here in ages! Since I don't plan much for the Diva trip, aside from booking the hotel, I'm not really active on the FB page either. I skim sometimes but mostly it's radio silence and hello! when I see you in February.

I'm also planning a Disney World trip for Sept. 2015 so that will probably take up most of my Disney brain because I can plan the heck out of that trip.
