2015 FREE DINING THREAD _ All Questions HERE!!

Ok sorry for the newbie question but I'm confused. I think that I read that if I have a 6 night stay then the park hopper is not required, is this true? Thanks!

For the fall FD offer the minimum stay is 3 nights, and with the tickets portion you have to have either a park hopper or a water parks and more option.

I got up at 5:55 and got online and saw the offer. I needed two rooms and wanted a Mod. Got 2 preferred rooms at CBR (thankfully those were available as I didnt want pirate ones). My dates are 10/31-11/6. I meant to book 7 nights, not 6!! I got online and tried to modify, but it was saying that there was no availability for the last night I wanted. I called WDW at 7 am and got in within about 5 mins, but she told me the same thing. No availability unless we went to Pirate Room. Guess I will keep checking back to see if it becomes available and do a room only if I can't do anything else. After reading through the comments here I guess I should be thankful to have gotten the 2 preferred rooms I got (and we wanted preferred from what I have read about how large the CRB is).
 
What are the wait times like over the phone right now? Online it appears to be working until you go to select a resort, then it kicks you back to the resort page that lists them all. It doesn't let you select anything.
It's doing the same thing for me. I've been on dead silence for 1:26
 
I have a question...are people seriously booking packages just "in case" they want to take a trip? Because if so...knock that sh** off!! If you have no traveling agenda don't eat up phone time and bandwidth just to cancel in two weeks when you decide you can't go.

That's most likely what 75% of the phone calls are lol.
Beat the crowd calls, worry calls and in-case calls.
 
We don't know what we will do. Family of 5, booked at BC, want BC or YC. Can't get either. POR excluded and can't get in CBR. Looking at downgrading all the way down to a value. :-(
 
This might be a silly question but we already have an existing reservation. If I call at some point today should I be okay with getting the offer? I know they have certain amounts of rooms available but surely they wouldn't sell out in one day?
 
Wonder why yours is listed that way? I entered my son's birthday into his profile sometime last night. Yet it didn't change him to a 10 year old for the trip. I will definitely call about it when the phone lines die down. Thanks!

Whenever I book, I always manually list what their age will be at the time of the trip. I'm not sure the system compares it against the profile.
 
They lost it on me because I already wanted and had booked PHs.
But how many people (like me) wouldnt have gotten hoppers? And how many upgraded to preferred rooms or a higher resort tier that otherwise wouldnt have?

I was just trying to say that Disney knows what they are doing, and overall, they wont lose money on this. :)

I wouldn't do anything drastic yet, sounds like system is flooded and servers overloaded more than everything being booked solid.
 
$3000 to me almost another vacation. Our package cost $2000 at Pop. Was expecting to pay $2300 at CSR. As much as I wanted a Mod, I certainly can't complain about the savings.
Oh trust me, I get it. We did pop last year for 9 days for half what this 5 day is costing, but it's an anniversary and a birthday and probably the last Dis trip we take for a few years. Very much considering downgrading...
 
How are you people modifying your reservation online? Mine only shows a payment option and a details option.

We had a bounce back set but we want to switch resorts.
 
Yup. The one time I got a price it was almost $900 more than the price I got yesterday. We're a family of 4, CBR package for a week in a standard room is $2800. Free Dining it looks like only preferred or pirate rooms are avail, at $3750. Still not sure since I can't get the system to work for specifics LOL

Ouch. Yep, that one would be hard to explain to the spouse. Hey, dear, Disney has this great discount promotion for free dining and it will only cost us $900 extra! Lol. She would look at me sideways..
 
It's 9:23am EST and I still didn't get any emails about the FD. I have the Premier Disney Visa.

update: nevermind. I didn't get the email, but the website shows it.

It could sell out in one day. There are already tons of people not able to get any mods, mods they want, deluxes they want, etc. It could sell out, but then with cancellations and other changes there might be openings later. Best to call as soon as you can.

We booked our trip from 10/31 -11/8 about a week and a half ago so I would be in for the 180+10 and there were only pirate rooms left then. If we would've done like you, until 11/6, we would've had our choice at rooms but with the wine & dine, that weekend was almost sold out even before this promotion.
 
I successfully modified our reservation this morning at Coronado Springs and got a confirmation email. But the email is showing free QS dining plan.... just to confirm, moderate resorts get the free regular plan, correct? I'm chalking it up to a system glitch and will call to confirm when thing settle down. Just want to make sure I have it right though. Thanks!
