Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Somebody asked about buying stamps. If somebody wants to investigate, the question is not just whether they are sold in the gift shops. If they are, the next question would be whether there is a mark up on the price.
We'll be arriving on Sunday. I'll try and find out!

I keep going back and forth on bringing my son's puddle jumper life jacket for swimming -- it's so much easier for him to swim in than a life jacket. Any tips?

Your question may have already been answered but we brought ours from home! I can't keep my 5-year-old son in a life jacket but he'll wear that puddle jumper w/o complaint! I kind of folded his up and packed it in a suitcase with our swimming stuff; on the way back it wouldn't fit in the suitcase anymore (souvenirs :D) so I clipped it to the top loop of my middle son's bag and made him "carry" it through the airport, etc.

Tomorrow it'll be one week since our vacation and I seriously have the Disney Blues. :( We won't be going back until at least 2017.

I feel like I have so much time on my hands since I'm not planning a trip!

Me, too! Got back Monday and it already feels like a lifetime ago. Need to post my pics to cheer me up! Which resort did you like better? We loved the Poly but preferred the YC. Seriously, I'm obsessed with it! Loved it so much.

18 days.................18 days........................18 days and I'll be enjoying a beer on my (hopefully) full balcony, looking out at the lagoon at the BC. We're all so excited we can't stand it. Even Dr. Jekyll, (aka my husband the last time he came with us on a fall trip), keeps telling me how pumped he is.

WOW..SO SAD to hear about the festive holiday Osbourne Lights! So grateful that we had the opportunity to see it last Dec. CAN'T UNDERSTAND why this would not continue!
For Disney, it really is all about the money. Those lights bring in a lot of people for two months or so, but Star Wars is going to bring a lot more people year-round. I'm betting they will find some place to put those up next year but they just haven't figured it out yet. Here's one suggestion, convert BB or TL to a Christmas themed park for a few months before they shut down for their annual maintenance.

We will wave at you from across the lagoon--this trip is to BWV! We also arrive in 18 days.

We really like the poly but fell in love with the beach club too!!! I'll have to post some pics too. And get my memory pics downloaded.

They are sold at the gift shops and no mark up. They have a three-ring binder with the ups codes in it which they scan and then rung up.

Thank you so much for responding to the question about stamps!

And :welcome: to the thread. I can't remember if you have posted on previous incarnations of this forum.

No problem! Yes, I chime in every now and then if there's something I can help with. BCV is our home base with regular trips in October for F&W and then the marathon in January! Thanks for the welcome!

Thanks for the review and pictures. Do you mind sharing the room number, if you remember?

Sure do!
It was right off the elevator... Room 4623.

Sorry I've been MIA. We managed to sell (or agree to sell) our house, and our buyers have become nightmare buyers, demanding inspection after inspection, visit after visit, and sadly, as we absolutely need to sell the place, we are at their mercy. We're already taking an $8000 bath on selling the house, and I expect that number to go up by at least $1700 over the next 48-72 hours. It's been unbelievably stressful, and making what should be a happy occasion (moving to our new home) more of a chore than anything. I think it's the curse of HGTV. We got the sappy letter with the offer (telling us how special our home was), followed by ridiculous low-balling non-negotiable offers, and then all the inspections...and plumbers (and our place has passed 99.9% of their tests BTW) but they still won't sign on the bottom line....and we're almost out of funds/consessions/repairs we can offer. It's such a headache. Needless to say, I think an August 2016 trip to WDW is way off the table. And it's a shame as it's going to be our 10th anniversary. Sigh... oh well.

Hope you all are enjoying your trips, and Teena, you know we're thinking of you.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Great introduction post! (I'm a fellow shortie, 5 feet and 1/4 inch)

For a request, I suggest: "Full balcony please. Courtyard (non-woods) view, if possible"

I think the Garden View category now includes Woods View and it sounds like you want to avoid this. We just had a GV room, near to EPCOT- in fact, we would be able to see EP from our room had it not been obscured by the trees.

:magnify:

Thanks

Brilliant on the room request info sounds perfect and I've made a note. Thank you.

Now I have to look for you. If you see some staring through binoculars across the lagoon into other people's rooms like a creeper, thats me! LOL

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just bought a regular letter stamp for 49 cents they didn't have any postcard stamps available so not see how much those are ...
