Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout

I think this is shortsighted. It's the die-harders who follow this stuff closely and post. That's not representative of most Disney park goers. Give it some time, and many of the people who will frequent that park won't even know that it used to be a different ride. Most people just move on. Most people aren't deeply -- or even slightly -- affected by this or any one Disney decision. There's far from enough reason to conclude that "Nobody wants this and Disney does not care".

I say all of this as someone who would be REALLY disappointed if they did this in WDW!! But I don't expect Disney to run its business based on my preferences. Nor those of a relatively small die hard group.

They NEVER make a decision that EVERYONE is happy about. No company can!! You name it, and someone or group on here forecasts the end of Disney as we know it. None of them have been right yet! Doesn't mean that WON'T happen at some point, but if it does, it won't be because they rethemed ToT. As much as I'd personally dislike it.

Completely disagree. A majority of people who go to Disney are not first timers. They go on vacations with family and they pass it on to their kids etc etc. Based on all the negative reaction I have seen, not only on this board, but on their own twitter, Facebook, and basically any other website that posted about it, it should lead someone to believe that a majority of people dislike the move.

" Give it some time and many of the people who frequent the park won't even know that it used to be a different ride " is an insane statement to me. TOT is an iconic ride and one of the most beloved rides in Disney. Disney is financed by the " die hards " who pay all the money to go, even though Disney does things we don't like sometimes.

To me, this is Disney stupidity because there is no way that in the meeting to discuss doing this, that they didn't believe they would see a massive backlash from people who visit the park. Thats the point. They did it knowing it would piss a lot of people off, but in the end, they care about one thing. MONEY.

Disney fans are on a short leash right now from all the increases they have been doing, and they shouldn't do even more things to break the straw on the camels back.

I would personally hate this at WDW, but my DDs would love it. They are big fans of the TOT ride itself, but they hate the Twilight Zone theming. It freaks them out. Something funny and upbeat with a good soundtrack would be right up their alley. I know there are other kids (and even adults) who find TOT to be creepy, so I'm sure some people would like this change. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that WDW leaves theirs alone.

This would give us an excuse to go to DL, I suppose. The girls could try out the "new" ride. We were considering a layover in LA on our way to or from HI next year. I wonder if "summer" would include the first week of June? Considering all of the times Disney has failed me with ride openings lately, I guess I shouldn't bank on it.

*ducks* I am ok with this. I was hoping they would actually change the ride. Just gut it and start over, but they aren't. I was not impressed with the original ride, it left much to be desired. So I am ok with this.

We don't have actual numbers but I don't believe the majority are disney veterans at WDW. At disneyland sure, they have over 1 million pass holders but not at WDW.

Have you ridden both the DCA and DHS version? I ask this because were you not impressed with the DHS version? The DHS version is one of the best Disney rides they have ever done from an engineering and technological stand point.

I have not had the chance to go to Disney World yet. The Disneyland one is completely underwhelming. I have heard the DHS version is much better.

They aren't out of money or ideas they just want to do things cheap. IPs and doing things cheap is the Bob Iger way.

I hope Bob Iger eats two pounds of bacon a day. Just a matter of time and we could be rid of him. Just kidding of course.

That's surprising.
Mainly because of construction costs. The park lacks in number of attractions for an opening day park. Toy story play land was supposed to be on the opening day roster and even was started in construction but was put on hold. Expedition Everest was also part of the plans, but was cut.

Okay, I have only ridden the DHS one and its a great attraction. The DCA only goes up and down, the DHS one, the elevators actually move through the building before dropping.

That's interesting, I had no idea about EE. I wonder where that would've gone?

It looks like it will be very well done. I love Tower of Terror, but as long as we have the original one I guess I'll be fine. And this confirms something else: Marvel Land is happening.

You don't need an excuse to go to DL. Just go ;)
