We stayed at the Ft Wilderness for the first time a couple weeks ago. We stayed in the cabins, more specifically loop 2500. We had a golf cart, but for people who don't get a golf cart this would be an ideal location. There was a bus stop directly across the road, the loop was small which would reduce the walk to the stop, and the pool and laundry is directly next to the loop. Having the golf cart was a big plus though and I don't know that we would go without it. The resort is beautiful and so relaxing!!
The cabins were wonderful for our family. We all slept in the bedroom in order to leave the living room open for lounging. We also kept all of our clothes in the drawers under the television in the living room and shoes etc went in the side cabinets out of the way. This allowed some people (DH
) to wake up early and dress or shower without waking everyone else. I felt like there was plenty of room for the 4 of us to spread out. Not sure that I would have 6 there though, lol!
There are a few things I think would have made the cabins better when they updated them. The kitchen was sufficient for what we did this trip, but I could see where it would have been nice for the ovens to stay. When the bathroom was updated I wish they had put multiple mirrors or one large mirror. The counter is large enough to get a couple people in there but the mirror was too small. I think they also could have updated the wasted space in the bedroom where the closet and vanity is. That whole area could be organized a little better to make the room seem larger and more useful.
Our family loved the experience of staying at the cabins! We will definitely stay there when we run out of points next time!! Notice I say when and not if
