Of course, things can always change as we know, but I thought I'd share that.
I would add bag check, I know they don't take tons of times but if you are bringing large bags it's a slight inconvenience
Disneyland has about half of the attendance of Disney World.
that was posted somewhere. My guess is that this is a test and if popular, better accommodations will be provided, this is Disney after all. As I posted, for us the reserved seating for three events makes the price easier to swallow.
Bill
The first example being Maleficient at the Villain party. I'm still chapped about that one.Basically there seems to be someone (or a team) of people in the Parks department of Disney whose job is to increase revenue with low overheard.
And they just keep dreaming up more ideas ..
Think about all the things they've added. Dessert parties, reserved seating for parades, Cabanas, Early Morning Magic, etc.
All things they keep trying out because the cost to "try them out" is minimal (not much infrastructure cost and maybe redirecting a few cast members) but the price they charge is big.
They are "quick hits" .. low hanging fruit .. that can make them money in the short term and even if they fail, there isn't that much invested in it.
I guarantee we are close to very exclusive "paid" meet and greets and other things like it (well, now that I think about it. The Tiana dessert party and Cinderella's Castle dinner is like that).
Whatever this team can dream up as an extra revenue maker without having to build a whole new attraction, will probably get tried out.
There were three that I saw, just like the one pictured on this thread, clustered around in the greenery behind the stage, on the end towards Star Tours.where were the ones at DHS?
I'll have to go check that, can't picture where exactly you're talking about. By the big backstage gate, between the JT stage and Backlot Express? There were three that I saw, just like the one pictured on this thread, clustered around in the greenery behind the stage, on the end towards Star Tours.
For just a little more you could have a studio at BLT for Christmas night. For less you can have a studio at VWL for a NYE night. So an actual room on property that you can go and lay down in with AC and a pool. I guess not for 8 people though. This only makes sense with 8 adults who are all chipping in.
Kids all day longWould anyone be able to nap in the middle of all the theme park noise? I know I wouldn't.
I think it's a good idea and would consider renting one. Even if someone is staying at a MK resort, you still have to leave the park, get to your room, and get back into the park. For me, the atmosphere is more important than the rides, so being able to hang out and have a dedicated spot to rest is appealing. I can understand why this would not appeal to many visitors, but I can also see many reasons why it would.Anyone on here thinking about booking one of these I would personally like to know someone's viewpoint who was in favor of this.
Wish I'd taken a pic now....No, they were literally right up against the end/back of the big stage in front of GMR, on the end closest to the movie star busts--left end if you're facing it. I saw three. Didn't look at the other end.I'll have to go check that, can't picture where exactly you're talking about. By the big backstage gate, between the JT stage and Backlot Express?
Those "tents" are the holding area for the SW characters in the show.Wish I'd taken a pic now....No, they were literally right up against the end/back of the big stage in front of GMR, on the end closest to the movie star busts--left end if you're facing it. ah ok. Those are the tents they use for the characters for Star Wars A Galaxy Far Far Away. When you said Star Wars stage I thought it was the JT training oneWish I'd taken a pic now....No, they were literally right up against the end/back of the big stage in front of GMR, on the end closest to the movie star busts--left end if you're facing it. posted my answer before reading your...what @hiroMYhero saidThose "tents" are the holding area for the SW characters in the show.
I was at a media event years ago where an Imagineer talked to us about the theming of the Haunted Mansion. Someone asked if they'd ever consider doing the Nightmare Before Christmas layover at WDW like they do at DLR. We were told that they wouldn't because more folks from around the entire world visit WDW and they want those Guests to see HM in its original form and not with a layover.

BTW, getting back on topic, I hate the cabana idea, but my thoughts aside, I feel that just like with the Extra Hours thing from a few months back, this won't get too far because most people will not be able to afford it/will see the use in it.
