Good info! Thanks! Is it possible that you are an AU on each other's account? It seems like Chase would cross check the RR # that you provided when you applied for the cards, especially with the value of the CP. Do you both have your own RR#? Regarding the business requirements, they seem to for the most part take your word for it. There are several DP's that indicate they allow for things like selling on ebay (even reselling clothes or other household items), pet care (grooming, walking, sitting), Avon, plants (garden surplus). If you are concerned you could ask the personal banker at Chase for their opinion as @wendow did. I would figure out who's RR# the points are going to, and who has the best chance of getting both cards approved. I would want some confirmation that if you applied for one card and your DH applied for the other card that they would pool your points and even if they did, SW may not allow it. Would hate to see you apply for one each only to find out one of you will still need to be approved for one additional card in order to get CP. If you get a chance let us know how it goes.
Chase (credit cards in general) attach each account to primary SS#, so if you login to Chase and see both accounts, they are both for the same SS# and person. If you login and see one & your DH logs in and see a different account then you each have one. (For instance, DH has CSR & CSP and mortgage visible on his login; I have My CSP, SW, Marriott and mortgage on mine. We cannot see each other's CC accounts on our separate logins)
If they are indeed different accounts under different SS#, I think it was a glitch that both accounts linked to one RR account because I'm pretty sure people can't share a RR account
It's automatic! Once you earn it, it will show up on your account. They eventually will send you an official(meaningless) card. The card does nothing other than look pretty. You designate a companion on the website and then with each reservation you will see a box to click to add companion. Enjoy!I need some quick advice. I just got instant approval for the SW Plus (going for a CP). I opened a CSP in April. Should I go ahead and try for the SW Premier right now or should I wait a month or so and hope the bonus is still there?
Edited to add: Well I did it and I got instant approval for the Premier as well. CP here we come !!! If I already have a RR account , do I have to sign up to earn a CP or is it automatic?
I think it depends on which offer. Are you talking about the regular or premier? The regular, if you get referral from someone is a gift card. I know the Premier offer on the Disneyland website is a statement credit. I got the Premier with the gift card (although I forget how I found that offer now LOL).As far as the $200 Disney offer, is it a $200 statement credit that you receive after spending the $500 or is it a $200 gift card that you receive and only redeemable for anything Disney?
Thanks

The spending requirements are the same for both, $2000 in 3 months.OKaaaay....
Just now got the scoop from a SW Cust Serv Rep via phone.
Each of our SW CCs are in separate names. One in mine the other in DH's. So that's good bc that's how I thought it was.
My next question for the Rep was, "why are the points from both being deposited into ONE RR acct?"
Her answer was that I must have selected that option when I applied for the 2nd card.
She said on every application there is an option to enter an existing RR acct # to link the new CC to.
[Disclaimer: this info comes from the SW phone rep. Not my own personal knowledge]
So my plan is to apply for the Premier in my name (since I've only ever had the Plus) and the Plus in DH's name (since he's only ever had the Premier) and have both of these new cards linked to my (in my name) existing RR acct. since I am the one traveling the most by air. I will use DD as my designated companion since she flies with me more consistently than does DH.
Anyone know:
Is the spending req'ment the same ($2000 in 1st 3 mo) same for the Premier promo?
Thank You!The spending requirements are the same for both, $2000 in 3 months.
From what I understood from @crazymomof4 post is that when they applied for the credit cards they put the same rapid rewards account # in the application. Different social security #'s obviously as one card is in her name and one in her DH's, but I guess when you apply they don't check to see if the applicant and rapid rewards accounts are the same person or they allow it. You can not share rr points after they hit your separate accounts. You can "gift" iirc but that's not usually a good deal.Wait. Hold on. AS far as SWA RR points are concerned, from what I know, and years of having the accounts myself- only ONE person can have a RR acct, you can't share it. So either you,or your DH is the acct holder,it can't be both. SWA charges $$$ to share points between accounts-
So Example would be I get a SWA cc, attached to my RR acct. (when you get approved it's linked to either an existing,or new RR acct, always) DH has AU on my card. That means any purchase points go into one acct- MINE. Even tho he has a card with his name on it. The points awarded are in my personal RR account, which is a different acct than the SWA card.(2 separate things) The SWA cc awards points, which are sent to MY RR acct, usable in my name. I can't have both our names on my RR acct. (I can cancel my swa cc,and still have my *separate* RR acct.,in my name open and usable)
What am I missing here?Is something changed? b/c that would be so awesome. (if we could swap points in RR accts that easily and for free) Or is this truly a glitch?

Hmmm Just remembered waiting a while for Chase SW cc to transfer the bonus points to my RR acct after I'd reached the spending requirement. Looked it up and the Terms & Conditions say "Allow 6-8 weeks for the bonus points to post to your Rapid Rewards account". So it could actually be 5 months (3 mo to reach req'd spending + 2 mo for points to post) from now before the CP is awarded? So we're talking possibly Nov? Then the CP awarded would only be useable for a short time in the 2017 calendar year + 2018. Am I correct in this?
Thanks for sharing. What an ordeal! I'm in for 2 new cards in the last 6 months, and 0/30. I've tried to take it slow, go after only big bonuses, avoid hotel co-branded cards regardless of bonuses, and focus on maximizing points and miles for the bonus categories on the cards I already have. I'm pretty sure I'll apply for the CIP. The signup bonus -- even at 80,000 UR -- is too versatile and tempting to ignore. I'd dread having to answer questions about my business because a lot of it is still prospective. (In reality, I'm also a bit nervous picking up new gigs and clients after stepping away from it these last two years.) And I'd really hate to waste a hard pull on a denial, even if it might ding my score by 10 points or whatever.
