If you order any of the specialty drinks that come with the cup, they will give you a new, boxed cup to travel home with.

hoping to hit up a business center to pack up and ship this - among the other tiki cups - back home. i'm not feeling so confident this and the others will fit in a suitcase. LOL. :)

The box is huge for the Nautilus! It is really well packaged with lots of styrofoam. The only reason we could get it home in a suitcase is because we bought some new bags.

My family and I are headed to the Poly for our first stay there. Our usual "home" is WL, but we wanted to branch out a bit and try our other favorite resort. We booked a standard room, but I am unsure what this entails because from what I have read, it seems there are varied types of standard rooms. I have no idea what we have! Any way I can tell? I am definitely missing something.

My DH wanted to request Samoa, looks like that is a popular request lol :)

Congrats on your first Poly stay! I don't think you'll be disappointed as the Poly is an amazing resort. Standard refers to the view, which could be of one of the pools, garden, or marina (vs lagoon view or TPV rooms). The actual rooms are the same, with all of them having 2 queens and a daybed (unless you book a suite or DVC). Hope you have a great trip and enjoy the Poly :goodvibes.

we are off in 2 weeks and can't wait to be back at the Poly. Ordered some shirts from Etsy for DH and I to celebrate our 20th this year - we honeymooned in WDW the year of the pink castle cake! :)

Congrats on 20 yrs! Hope you have a great anniversary trip! :wizard:

Poly has some of THE best standard view rooms on property.

I agree! :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if the work on the 1st floor of the Hawaii building is still going on? Thanks!
I would like to know this as well! We arrive tomorrow and first floor was my only request. I'm going to be VERY bummed if we don't even have a chance to get it, especially since they didn't notify us there is work going on. We have a LV room and I REALLY don't want 2nd floor :( The patio/balcony is our escape after the little one goes to bed! I'm sure our chances of 3rd floor are slim to none since we don't have a TPV. Guess we will find out soon enough!

We checked out today and the first floor was still closed. Hopefully, it will be open very soon. Our first stay at the Poly was very nice and we enjoyed our stay! Last night we ordered roommservice and got the twilight feast, one kids meal, and it was just the amount we wanted. We subbed out shrimp and the pot stickers or whatever that is called, for chicken and steak. I took a few pictures because I thought someone had asked about it. It was good and I would order it again. Hope everyone enjoys the Poly like we did. Now one night at PBH over on the dark side before we go home. Sorry the dark side won't let me post the pictures but I will try again later...sorry.

We will be staying Poly CL and plan on ordering the Twilight Feast one evening. Since we will probably be taking advantage of the food offerings in the lounge, we are not going to order a Twilight Feast for each one of us. We were thinking of ordering one adult and one child portion from room service. Here is my question: My daughters are both 14 not child aged. Will we be told we can't order a child's portion since there is no child in our room?

I don't think they would say anything. I been to Disney with extended family before and we all spent time in each others rooms. They have no way of knowing in the kitchen if you had a "Disney child" visiting or not.

Glad you had a great time and enjoyed the Poly (and the twilight feast) :goodvibes.

Our home resort is the Poly and my wife and I always order 1 adult, 1 child for the feast when we are really hungry. The recommendation actually came from the staff, they warned us that 2 adult meals would prob be too much food for just 2 people. We have no children and have never encountered a problem. We also have ordered 1 adult if we are not that hungry.

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but is there a reason the Oasis pool is not on the map of the Poly Disney just sent me for my upcoming trip?!

We are staying at the Poly in a little over 2 months and are very excited! This will be the first trip for our 2 year old. I was wondering if the pool has life jackets small enough for a 2 year old or if we should bring ours from home? I was also hoping someone could point me in the right direction as far as where to lok to learn about monorail and ferry operating hours? Thanks!

Hopefully someone else can chime in about the life jackets, but I can help with the monorail/ferry information. I would suggest you ask for a time schedule when you check in because I know that last year there were some times that the resort monorail didn't run until the time that the Magic Kingdom closed. But, there will always be a way back to the resort.

We were there when our daughter was 3 and she's very tiny (20ish lbs then) They have a wide range of vests. And the smallest fit her ok. I wouldn't let her out of arms length though. If she got in the water by herself the vest would pop up around her ears because the vest just wasn't snug and the arm holes were big. Sometimes finding one that fit her was a bit of a hunt. If there wasn't one by the main pool there would be one by the splash area. I packed a small vest from home that fit her but we usually just used the ones at the pool.

I'm confused - is Tuvalu for standard view resort stays, lagoon or theme park view, or is it DVC?
