I love credit cards so much!

SW CP Question. I SM'd chase a few days ago to see when my statement would close on the business card, because I've hit the $3k spend. They told me today, so I wasn't worried about changing it. I was wondering how long was it between statement close and your points showing up in your RR account?

Typically within a day or two.

I'm not loving credit cards so much this morning. I found a $4,100 charge for a local builder for lumber on my citi thank you card??? Three weeks ago my csr had fraud. Last summer it was my quicksilver card. This one is the weirdest though since it's local.
Oh no!!! I hope everything gets settled quickly.

I am hoping Disney restaurants code as "restaurants" under the Chase Freedom 5 percent categories as we will have NO problem spending $1500 for our 6 nights at Disney in August. We have ressies at California Grill and Narcoossees which are not cheap. DH wants to eat at Narcoossees twice. We also have ressies at Via Napoli and Sci Fi. I did not purchase discounted gift cards this year as I hope to get the points from my CF and transfer them to my CSR.

In other news, Chase messed up my grandiose plans to use the Fairmont free upgrade certificates. Since the program will no longer exist after August, I will not get new certificates come March 1, 2018. I was lucky to find a basic "Fairmont" room at the Chateau Lake Louise (Easter weekend) where I can apply my free night certificates. No "lake view room upgrade" as they wanted $400 A NIGHT to do so. I told my husband that there is NO WAY I'd pay $400 a night for a VIEW. We could use that for excursions and fine dining.

On the bright side, we are still going to Banff and Lake Louise, as well as Calgary. I also dropped our stay by a night at the Fairmont Palliser since no free 3rd night free certificate anymore. Sucks, but I was lucky to book it at a great rate-$161 CAD a night and it's now $363 CAD a night. Instead I used 7,000 UR points to book a 3 star hotel by the Calgary airport for our last night since we have an 8:00am flight back to Philly. I will PC the fairmont card to a CFU since I want to get the signup bonus for the CSP.

If I had Disney travel plans, I would definitely hit the $1500!

Sorry that your plans had to change. But I am sure you will enjoy your trip anyways. Lake Louise, Banff and Calgary are all wonderful. I really loved it there and look forward to going back sometime in the future with DH.

I'm glad you were able to adjust your plans--I agree that I'm going to miss the Fairmont awards. Did you see, though, that apparently people who have had the card for less than 12 months on August 15 (I think that's the date) will get a free night certificate if they have spent $6000? I was contemplating trying for $12,000 by the end of the year for the free night; I'm pretty sure with some of DH's work expenses this summer we can meet the extra $3000 (assuming the initial $3000 counts too).

I am, too. I just returned from a wonderful Fairmont Pacific Rim Vancouver trip and it was lovely. I suspect I won't be a Premier member (a perk of the credit card) anymore...it was very nice as well as the free nights. Boo. I think I'll do a product change to the CFU once it becomes the CSP as well although this Q3 isn't very helpful. Boo again. Sigh. Just a frustrating Chase week for me. Of course, it's all gravy since this is a hobby. Must look on the bright side :)

Thanks to all who helped me get to this point. Need some advice before I proceed with my first reservation through Chase UR portal.First, I need to transfer DH's UR points from his Ink to his CSR. Can we do that easily online and is it instant? I am planning a Las Vegas-Grand Canyon-Sedona trip for Oct. We would like to use our newly acquired UR for a car rental but there is no way to pick up at Las Vegas Airport and return to Phoenix. Is that something I have to call for or is a different drop off city just not allowed? If anyone has any advice on this trip I am all ears. I have never been to either city so am kind of overwhelmed at this point.

That stinks. Hope it is resolved quickly.

Once you sign in and get to the rewards area, there should be a box in the upper right corner with your points. Click on it, it should open and have Combine Points listed. It is instant.

I have mixed feelings about restaurants and movie theaters being Freedom's 5x categories next quarter. I'd hate to think we could spend a max $1,500 on eating out, but we'll probably make a good dent. The problem is we can always find significantly discounted gift cards for restaurants on Raise, eBay, at Costco, etc., so between 5x cash back/UR points vs. buying a gift card at 10-20% off, upfront cash savings wins. As for movies, we have a young child and a lot of the family friendly movies she's interested in seeing will have already released before July. But I'll still be sure to use our Freedom on the MileagePlusX app to double dip on the miles and the 5x UR points when dining or seeing a movie.

$500 a month isn't much though. if your 2 people i guess. My friend spends that much in 1 month haha. CSR the rest of the month.

That's a possibility - but I have a Capital One card that pays 2% everywhere. I should probably do some math and see which would be greater, 5% back some quarters or 1.5% everywhere.

1.5x UR might be worth more than a 2x though. if you have a CSR, combine your 1.5x with CSR 1.5... worth it! :D

Just a quick DP for the charges that have posted to my new CIP:
- Rent earns 3x coding under "trvl, ship, adv, telecom"; payment submitted 6/13, posted 6/15
- PPDG earns 3x coding under "trvl, ship, adv, telecom"; purchased 6/13; posted 6/15
- Electricity/gas earns 1x as everything else.

P.S. Based on a few DPs from Reddit, it seems some people are still able to submit mortgage payments through Plastiq using a Visa if their mortgage lender/servicer is a smaller company that is slipping through the cracks of Plastiq/Visa. YMMV. All DPs suggest mortgage/rent now earn only 1x using CSP/CSR, but several DPs are saying mortgage/rent earn 3x on CIP. Not sure how long all this will last. Happy to be getting at least one more month of 3x on rent.

P.P.S. Interestingly, some people are reporting that their student loan payments through Plastiq are earning 3x on CIP. Seems like YMMV based on your lender/servicer.

This is why I don't like the UR portal for car rentals much...it's only a rt option- also I never like the prices I'm quoted(!) so I end up booking elsewhere and using UR for something else. I tend to want lot of one way trips too

I remember seeing it said rentals are roundtrip, though I guess you could call the number and ask. I had originally thought about doing the one way rental until I saw how much it added to the bill. It was a lot! Not to mention that Phoenix and Salt Lake (the 2 I considered) were a pricier airport for us also, it just didn't make sense. We just did Vegas/Grand Canyon plus the Utah parks last week. We used UR points for hotels (except Grand Canyon hotel, I paid cash for that one) and car rental. The car rental was higher on the UR portal till about 2 weeks before the trip, then it evened out to what I could find myself online.

Has anyone ever noticed availability increase in the UR portal? I'm looking to book another WDW resort stay with DH's UR. Last week there were several Disney resorts showing as available. Since yesterday morning I'm only able to pull up 5. I'm hoping it might be related to the Disney site going through "enhancements" that I've been reading about a lot lately. Just curious if anyone has seen where there was very limited availability in the UR portal, then found more available later.

Has anyone used a CIP or other Chase Ink cards to take advantage of the current Best Buy gift card deal? If so, how does the purchase code?

For those of you who don't follow the Disney Gift Card Deals thread, the deal is Buy $150 Best Buy egift card/Get $15 savings code. Click the link for details. Anyway, I occasionally jump on these kinds of deals because you can redeem Best Buy gift cards and savings codes for third-party gift cards, including Disney, in stores and essentially save 9-10% off pretty much anything Disney.

The deal is processed through Cashstar, which occurs to me may qualify for 3x on CIP. DoC has a blog post about this, but the results seem to be mixed. Anyone with personal experience to share?

P.S. I may go ahead with this deal anyway since I have a minimum spend to meet! I'll share what I find.

Quick question about SW CC offer. If my husband currently has the the regular SW card, can he sign up for the premier SW card now to get the 60K points? Or is he excluded from this offer since he already has the other SW card? Total newbie here...... TIA

They're considered different products, so yes your DH can sign up for the Premier. In fact, a lot of people are signing up for both the Plus and Premier to qualify for the CP almost immediately with a combined 120,000 points from the signup bonuses.
