We aren't against doing a split stay if that is our only option. It's just being Disney newbs (this will be our 3rd trip) we have no experience with that at all. I've been checking out the split stay thread for more info.

We've done WDW once, being from the west coast, but we did a split stay between the Grand Floridian and the Animal Kingdom Lodge -- best decision we could've made. WDW has so many beautiful resorts with different themes; we were torn and just couldn't decide which one to stay for the week we were there. Doing a split stay between a monorail resort put us within easy access to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios for the first part of our trip, and then we moved over to AKL where Animal Kingdom was just about 10 minutes away. Besides saving on a lot of travel time, we got to enjoy two completely different themed resorts. This is our plan for all future trips. Good thing we don't have a trip back planned for another few years -- at Deluxe prices, we'll need the time to save up.

Anyway, moving between the two resorts was the easiest thing. On the morning we had to leave the GF, we packed everything up, went to the front desk to check out, informed the CM we'd be checking into AKL later that day, and then left our luggage with bell services, which had instructions to deliver all our bags to AKL. We spent the day in the parks, then caught a bus to AKL when we were done. While we were in the parks, we received a text message alert that our room was ready. When we finally got around to checking in, our luggage had already arrived and was brought directly to our room. So easy!

We do split stays almost every time we go. It's very actually easy. Disney makes it completely painless. We don't do the dining plan though so I am not sure if that complicates things at all.

I'm almost done with the spend on my Hyatt card but have until July 11 to finish. I had a car repair yesterday that put me a bit over $20 from my spend but I'm ordering pizza tonight so I figured out that I could use my card and still tip what I want and be less than a dollar from my 2k spend :) I wanted the 2x on dining which I'll use on Friday to finish the spend.

Do you know with the Hyatt card when the 2 nights will hit? I am pretty sure I've done the match correctly since I've used excel and the chase site for the transactions and input everything but the annual fee. I wish they would keep track for you though I suppose there is a benefit to them not keeping track. I have a couple of things I can also put on the card this month to help make sure I'm over the spend.

Argh. I dipped my toe in last November and get the 100000 points from the chase reserve card. I just applied for the southwest plus card, and got the "we need to review further 30 day message." My credit score is excellent; last I looked it was over 800. I have three other chase cards, the Reserve that I got last year, a southwest plus that Ive had for several years, and the slate, which I've
had forever. No other new cards except for the reserve in the past two or three years. I have a feeling my credit limits are too high. Two of them are ridiculous. Hey, chase, I didn't ask for, nor do I need, that much credit. Next steps for me?

from what I've read you can call and find out the reason at which point if what your saying is correct they will most likely rearrange some of the limits ot get you the car, or you can sit on it for a few days and they will send you a letter that states the same, thats what happen to me when I applied for the CSP, and hoping they do the same for the SWplus I just applied for and got the same we need to review

My husband has had the SW premiere card for about a year. He never took advantage of the points you can get after signing up. If he was to call what are the chances he could have that offer for the extra points??

Just have him apply for the SW plus card with the current 60k point offer. Alternatively you could cancel the premier and apply for it again with a signup bonus after a month or so. They aren't going to award you a signup bonus now for an existing account.

Log onto the Chase site (where you view your other cards) and see if the new Southwest one happens to be listed there. I guess this is common. I just applied for the Hyatt card last night and got the 30 day message. About 30 minutes later, I went on the Chase site and it was there. :thumbsup2 Good luck!

I'm not an expert on this, as I only just got approved for the Hyatt card yesterday, but what I've read about it seems to indicate you get the free nights after the statement where you hit the spend closes out. I'm hoping they post quickly once we hit our spend as well (we're ready to book free rooms!)

I didn't read enough about how long the free nights were good for until after I applied, opps. Had thought we'd use them fall 2018 but spring works too. So I've been trying to push hitting the spend as close to my date as I'm comfortable. We'll probably end up going in May but this way we can go into June if necessary.

I was focused on using my vacation to help with spend, had I thought and researched more I would have done a different chase card now and then waiting for the hyatt, but it'll all work out.

I did see some indications in the things I read that people are sometimes able to get Hyatt to covert their free nights into points that can be used later, but I don't think there's any guarantee they'll do that.

Unfortunately, he's going to be out of luck for the first card. Cancel it, but I think you have to wait 2 years to be eligible again for a bonus on the same card.

Has anyone used a CIP or other Chase Ink cards to take advantage of the current Best Buy gift card deal? If so, how does the purchase code?

For those of you who don't follow the Disney Gift Card Deals thread, the deal is Buy $150 Best Buy egift card/Get $15 savings code. Click the link for details. Anyway, I occasionally jump on these kinds of deals because you can redeem Best Buy gift cards and savings codes for third-party gift cards, including Disney, in stores and essentially save 9-10% off pretty much anything Disney.

The deal is processed through Cashstar, which occurs to me may qualify for 3x on CIP. DoC has a blog post about this, but the results seem to be mixed. Anyone with personal experience to share?

P.S. I may go ahead with this deal anyway since I have a minimum spend to meet! I'll share what I find.

FYI: For all of you who also follow the Disney Gift Card Deals thread, I jumped on gift card deals through PPDG (iTunes) and Cashstar (Best Buy) last week and both purchases earned 3x UR points (coding under "trvl, ship, adv, telecom") using the CIP.

Anyone know if these merchants earn 5x on Ink+/Cash?

I believe the both do if you pay through paypal. I've used PPDG and definitely received 5x on my Ink+ card. I haven't used Cashstar, but I have a list (I think I got it from this thread somewhere) that shows Cashstar. I'll copy the list I have - there are a lot of places that it shows as qualifying for the 5x.

Thank you! Eventually I'll have to make the decision whether to product change the CIP to the Cash. But in less than the two weeks I've had the CIP, I've already earned more UR points than my typical month using the CSR. And DW's and my cell phone bills still have yet to hit. Being able to earn 3x on rent and student loans [on the CIP] through Plastiq is BIG. Who knows how long it'll last, but I'm enjoying the bump to my UR wallet.

In the same boat, can't seem to decide if I want to PC the CIP to Cash once I meet the MSR and the bonus posts...would like to get the pro-rata refund of the AF back and I think Cash would offer us more perks in the long haul with 5x in overlapping categories...

I got the Hyatt and the free nights hit almost instantaneously with the minimum spend. Same way...wish I would have waited and not got the card when I did. Apparently the free nights are best to use at a big expensive property and I don't know that we will be able to make that trip before next Spring.

i recall chase recently changing the rules on refunding AF. Its no longer prorated. I always find the CIP categories too similar to CSR, (travel part). If you do the other categories of CIP, then keep your CIP. IF not, CIC is so far the best UR earning card imo.
