Disney Diet.

I don't know where to post this, so if there is a better place please feel free to move the thread or kindly tell me where to repost.

Our Disney Trip is in January 2018 and I need to lose a few pounds before we go. Y'all (I'm from Texas), I know that this should be a lifestyle change, that I shouldn't do anything drastic, and all that good healthy advice. For now, the Disney trip is my motivation so I wanted to see if anyone else on the board wants to join me in a "Disney Diet" to get ready for our trip!

My goal is to lose 20 pounds in 6 months. I don't want to overdo it and I don't want to become obsessive. I just want to start eating healthier and making better choices.

Anyone care to join me in this thread to keep track of each other's progress and just for support?

I started the keto diet yesterday. I'm not going to freak out over every little thing, but i'm going to do my best to cut out some carbs (the obvious, pasta, potatoes, bread) and so far so good (but i'm only on day 2 lol).

What's your plan?
 
I'm in! Our next trip is February 2018 and I am hoping to be 40 pounds lighter. I just recently joined a couple Disney diet Facebook groups if you want the info.
 


I think you would really enjoy Crazy for Disney Fit and Healthy. A lot of the members seem to be doing keto.

For me it is about getting in more activity and not eating processed foods. Baby steps!!!

I'm on Keto since January and feeling fantastic!! I've lost 35 pounds and 2 sizes. I sleep better and I have lots more energy and no cravings at all. My Disney goal is to get under 200 pounds by our November vacation!!

I am actually trying to do the keto diet as well, but like you I'm also not going to cut carbs out completely ( I would NEVER be able to do that). I started this week too so we are on the same schedule! What type of exercise plan are you implementing? That is my biggest problem, trying to find motivation to exercise. Also, do you have a set day to weigh youself in, I didn't want to obsess over the scale however I feel that is the only way I can keep myself going. Thinking about joining Weight Watchers just to have that weekly weigh in lol
 
What is your ladies go to snack when on the keto diet? Lately, mine has been roasted and salted edamame!
Since my diet doesn't include legumes, I can't eat those :( They make me bloat. SAD! I eat pork rinds dipped in guacamole, or some soft cheese with veggies. I don't snack too often anymore, ever since my body got adapted I'm just not hungry.
 
Hi Ladies!

Sorry I haven't checked in. Work was crazy last week. I am happy to report that I have stayed true to the Keto Diet (under 20g carbs per day and as little sugar as possible - definitely no added sugars) and today is day 9 on plan and i'm down 6 pounds.

MandLBee, that so amazing! I can't wait to see more progress.

My Stats are:

Start weight - 195
Current weight - 189
Goal weight (Disney or not) - 140

I changed my goal and I want to be 160 by our Disney Vacation, so I have 29 lbs to lose to get there by Jan 8.

How is everyone else doing?

I just wanted to tell you that you can ABSOLUTELY do this! I lost over 40 lbs this year from January to our trip departure last month. I didn't do keto, just diet and exercise. I used the free sparkpeople app to track. Just keep at it, and you'll get there. Good luck!

I'm 2 weeks and 3 days in and down 9 lbs!

How is everyone else doing?
 
I went on a week long trip to see family and I did not gain weight!!! As soon as we got home, I started dropping weight again and now I weigh less than I did on my wedding day. So exciting.
