So the conversation with the boss went kind of strange. It was like she already knew and didn't really seem to care. I think one of the agents told her. She asked where I was going and said OK I wish you luck. Didn't ask why or anything.

Not to surprised...we all know she's a "strange" person. Sounds like someone did "squeal" on you which is okay...you won't have to deal with any of them in a week or so. My guess is she KNOWS why; she can't honestly believe your "actions and demands" make her employees happy...can we say The Devil Wears Prada? I think she probably knows she'll never win "Boss of the Year"!

Been out running errands the last 1 1/2 hours. Had to finally laugh when radio weather man started taking "shortcuts". Instead of "watch your pets, check on your neighbors, drink plenty of fluids, outdoor activity not recommended, etc..." he says, "We're sitting at 96 right now with a heat index of 106...you know the DRILL"!

I think that is quite a compliment that she would like you to stay and is willing to try to make you an offer. Obviously she didn't dislike you as much as you disliked her.

It would be nice if the offer was for more hours so I could get benefits instead of less. I told my husband she would have to give me a 5.00 per hour raise and 1 more hour a week so I can get benefits and (yup only 1 more hour to get benefits) and change some of my job duties then MAYBE I would consider staying and that's a big maybe.

The job is at a middle school grades 6-8 (I think) I start August 24 at 7:30am. It is about a 15 minute ride a few towns over. I'll miss my 4 minute commute but that's about all I'll miss. The Principal seems really nice.
