We are staying CL in September. We are requesting bunks due to our two boys. Do they have bunks on the fireworks side of WL CL? If not

We our staying CL at the end of Dec/beginning of Nov - I put in a request for a room with bunk beds facing MK for our girls ... DSS acknowledged receipt of my request. However I didn't see any CL bunk rooms listed on the touring plans room
finder ... so I am curious about this too! Hopefully someone can confirm either way :flower3:

There is a bunk bed room on the MK side on the club level floor. They had originally assigned it to us but we asked to be switched to a regular room. After we had been assigned our new room on the courtyard side I wished we had kept the bunkbed room. It had a great view of the castle. :)

I can't remember the room number of the bunkbed room but it was somewhere in the middle of the floor, I think.

Awesome! Thank you so much Wood Nymph - that gives me hope :P
Hope you had a wonderful trip also!

Hello, headed to WL in September with my kids and my in-laws. Are connecting rooms options for any standard rooms?
I'm getting conflicting reports when I search online and when I tried to put in the request into my reservation over the phone the CM told me she could only put in a request for adjoining rooms but that adjoining and connecting mean the same thing but that hasn't been the case in my experience. Just trying to figure out if I should give up any hope of connecting rooms now and cross my fingers we get adjoining.

Yes.

Unfortunately, you got a misinformed phone CM. Call back and hopefully you get a more knowledgeable CM. You are correct that adjoining and connecting are not the same thing. Adjoining means rooms near each other and connecting means directly next to one another with an interior door connecting the two rooms.

Yes.

Thanks for your response! I called this morning and the CM told me again that adjoining was the only option she could put in. I don't know what's going on.

I believe what is happening is they are sticking to the original definition of standard view rooms, and in that category there are no connecting rooms. With the current situation where former woods view rooms are used for standard view reservations, having connecting rooms would be possible. With this situation, my suggestion would be to request whatever they will let you request, and hope that the rooms connect. If connecting is more important to you, you could pay for courtyard view, where I bet it will be an available option, but even then they don't tend to guarantee connecting rooms. Good luck and happy planning, hopefully it all works out for you.

Hi...we'll be staying in a deluxe club level room 8/28 through 8/31. It's been a few years since we've stayed at the Lodge and I know there have been lots of changes going on. Last time we stayed we had a view of the woods. Does anyone know what the views are from club level room deluxe rooms.

Thanks!

Thanks!

We stayed in a Deluxe Room just after Thanksgiving last year, a week or so after the new CL lounge had opened. The links below are from a few posts I did on the CL thread about our experience. Sometimes my posts aren't back to back so scroll through as page or two.

WL CL Food - November 2016

WL CL Lounge - November 2016

WL Deluxe Room-Nov 2016

The views from the Deluxe Rooms are mostly woods/trees with glimpses of Bay Lake through the trees. Attached are some pics. My room was on the third floor (Deluxe Rooms can be on the 1st - 6th floors)... any floor is going to be roughly similar as the trees are so tall here. Note that the view could look a bit different now that they've done the path to the cabins around on that north side of the resort.

Hope that helps!

Have fun!

Hi, all! We recently bought DVC and will be using our points for the first time this September to stay at VWL. We haven't stayed at WL for about 2.5 years, basically before any major construction. The last time we were there my son LOVED the playground on the beach. I know it was closed during construction, but does anyone know if it was reopened, or even relocated on the resort?

TIA!

Hello, Unfortunately the playground was removed, and I don't think it was replaced anywhere at the resort. There still is the nice one over at Fort Wilderness, but it is a bit of a trip. Geyser Point is now in that general area, and there is a clearing where they show movies, but no playground that I'm aware of. We'll be there tomorrow with our almost 2 year old, so we'll be looking.

We are in the twenty something days out and so weird random questions are popping up in my head. I don't want to do the "wrong" thing. We will be arriving by car, with some groceries (no fridge needed), late morning 10:30 ish, and have to return the car to the car care center. Right now my plan is to go to the WL first, check-in, get our stuff to bell services, and return the car while DH and DD have an early lunch. (we are early risers). We will have to stop at the guard post first, but then do we just park prior to someone checking in, or do we unload our stuff with bell services first? We are staying CL too. In our past driving trips at AoA and Poly, we have checked in first, then moved the car to a lot more convenient to our building, before unloading, but that doesn't apply with WL. Is doing online check-in going to mess this up even more? We did online at AoA in Nov 2015 and still had to go to the main desk because of our charging pin for some reason.

ahh can't wait to be back!!!!

We are here now! We were surprised with a bunk bed room in a new location for us. The kids are super excited. We had a great dinner at Roaring Fork and are looking forward to a great trip.

ETA:
We walked around the resort tonight and are very impressed with the additions and changes. The new villas pool is beautiful, as is Geyser Point and the waterfront area surrounding it. We will post some pics.

Thanks GC! Geyser Point looks like a nice place to hang out. We are staying at BW in October ( first time in many years that we haven't stayed at WL) . Thanks so much for posting! My DD and I are determined to find time to go over to WL and check out the changes. Have a wonderful trip!

You should be able to pull up and drop everything off at WL bell services, no problem. We did that after coming back from the beach one time, and it was after we checked in. We just wanted to drop off our beach bags before parking the car. It was no problem.

We love it here. It is so great to have everything done and opened back up. You can even access the 7th floor from the open stairways on the South side of the lobby. It gives a great view that wasn't available to non-club level guests before.

Also they added led strip lighting to the open wood stairs in the lobby. They stand out now.

Finally, I was also glad to see the balcony on the 4th floor by the front of the resort is again accessible.

It is great to be at WL!

Hello! It took me 2 months but I finally read thru all 350+ pages of this thread! Our family (me, DH, DS8, DS6, DD4, DS2) is booked Mar4-10 in a BRV studio and it will be our first stay at WL! Our first family trip to WDw was in 2014 and I knew we needed to stay here someday. It has been a dream of mine ever since. Our youngest turns 3 next June so it's our last chance to fit in a room for 5. So yes we will be maxing out the space in The studio but that's ok, we are used to it! We have a small house and all 4 kids sleep in the same room at home (that's their choice, there is an extra bedroom.)

My only question for now is about arriving via car. We drive from MO and our SUV will be packed! It will take several trips to unload the car because we will also stop for groceries. I know bell services can help but it would probably be 20 plus bags (lots of small bags that we cram in different places with only 2 suitcases, backpacks for the kids...etc). Tipping the bellhop $2 per bag seems a little out of our budget so we would prefer to do this ourselves. I am familiar with the layout of the resort and parking lot. Would it be best for us to just park then walk to check in then go back to the car to start unloading and make several trips? I know it's a bit of a walk also. Or can we park by the lobby check in and unload or will the bellhop start doing it automatically? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

@ArielSRL how did your unloading go?
