January/February 2018 discounts, who else is in?

I booked POR with Stay Play Dine. Only POFQ Is excluded.

However, for our dates there was very limited availability. POR made us “upgrade” to a royal room, which we don’t care about.

BC was requiring we do a club level or above, which eviserated any savings.

My calculations show we “saved” around $750, but we wouldn’t have upgraded to the royal room except it was required, so the savings is less than that in real life “what we would’ve spent otherwise.”

Super bummed! Been waiting months for this deal - and it sucks. 4 nights booked at WL standard room. For the room-only deal, I could upgrade to courtroom view for $300. I'm just going to keep our original reservation without a discount.

Me too. And super-discouraged. I was hoping for a discount and every available choice makes my total package more expensive. Hoping SPD is a bit better, when/if it comes...

So 53 minutes on hold to finally be told that they couldn't apply ANY discounts to my current reservation (Jan 1-9 at CSR in a junior suite). Not even a Disney Visa discount. She said to try again later in the week in case they released more rooms....

For our August trip this year, AKL standard was approximately $20 more per night than POFQ. It was our 4th AKL stay and we were very happy - it was a great value. Having stayed at all the mods (except cabins) I highly recommend the upgrade to AKL. If transportation is important to you, I'll add that our experiences at AKL with the bus (no sharing with other resorts - just Kidani) has always been fantastic.

Just upgraded from POFQ to AKL standard view for an extra $13.54 a night! I used the Disney Visa room only discount. Wow!

I called and was able to get through within about 2 minutes The cast member I spoke with was very nice, her name was Pebbles and I was able to get SPD. We are at all star music because POP was no longer available for my dates but it also was unavailable for my dates before any discounts were released. I called the customer service number 1 (407)939-5277.

Are POR discounts only available if you upgrade to garden rooms or is that just what's left for my dates? Was really hoping to stay there. Also if I book online can I then call in after work to apply the extra visa discount?

You can book the park hopper with the deal. It can be confusing though if you have it set for a 5-day ticket. If you're selecting a 5-day ticket the only option that shows is a base ticket (apparently because part of the deal is to get a 6th day of tickets free or something). So make sure you're selecting either a 4-day or 6-day ticket to get the park hopper (but the 6-day ticket should be the same as what it would quote you for 5 days).

I only need 5 day hopper and and the price goes up when I add the 6 I'm on hold right now waiting to try and talk to someone.

Seems like the better room only deals are for premium hotels- club level rates got a big cut- I'll need to keep an eye out for Annual Passholder discounts too when they get announced

Yes, I had to call. Which is unfortunate because I kept wanting him to try and run things different ways but it was hard because I felt like I knew more than he did and I couldn’t see what he was seeing.

In Canada we are seeing something called a 'Fun Filled Escape' Room Only discount but the SPD offer isn't showing up online at all.

Ugh, someone let me know if/when SPD comes online. I don't have the patience for hold times and I just realized my plan B is a flop because SSR is one of the resorts that is still in the Disney system as sleeping 4 in a 1 bedroom, so unless I rent points that's not going to work. How stupid, that they'll let us cram into a single room at POR but not into a villa that's more than twice the size!

I'm seeing the SPD link at the bottom of the Gift of Magic offer page, but when I click it, it just loops me back to the GoM page. Adn every time I try changing my search, it bumps me back to looking at standard rates so I have to click on the resort, then click on the discount, to see what is available.

No, the SPD isn't showing up online. There is a room+ ticket package showing up, but doesn't save a lot.

I'm crunching my numbers right not on when it's best to go for Gift of Magic room only discount. The offer keeps going away so it's taking some time. If I needed tickets the Family Magic would be good but I don't and so I would rather use that additional money on food. Good think my dates are flexible.

Yes! Keep trying! People will be moving and changing things quite a bit for the next couple of days.
