January/February 2018 discounts, who else is in?

Our CMs keep asking for a "code." Um, nooooo, it's right on your site. First CM dropped the call. Now we're on but only really save 10% at WL which is the lowest discount we've had in years. Hey, I'll take it! But gosh.

Welp, no deal for me this year. I've got the dates I want and resort I want (Pop) and discount is not available for my dates. I'd be willing to change my room category, but they're all no availability. Well, Rack rate at POP is still less than anything available for my dates, and the only places I'd change to are POFQ (not available) or an Epcot resort (way too much).

The lesson I learned for sure, though, is to jump on the room I want as soon as the rack rates come out. At this point, I'm just thankful I've got a room where I want to be.
Same here, nothing available at Pop. So frustating!

I have a reservation at Pop Century for a preferred room I booked in June for January 22 to January 27. There are no discounts available for a preferred room at Pop, just standard rooms. So I am staying with the rack rate.

There is nothing for standard rooms either. I checked first thing this morning, as soon as play stay dine was live and there was nothing. I called and waited 60 minutes while searching online and there was still nothing. I don't believe there ever was anything, it was "available" but there were no rooms in the bucket.

I didn't have a chance to post an update earlier today but I got through on the phone around 8:50am EST. Ended up with 35% off AKL standard view for 6 nights beginning of feb. Was hoping for POR but the discount was poor and for $180 more we had a chance to stay at a resort we've never stayed at.... so, there ya have it.

FYI - if you add or subtract a day or two here or there, you may be able to find a discount and/or more days for less or relatively equal costs. For what it's worth, the days we originally had booked earlier this year with no discount were not available for any type of discount on a room comparison (i.e. garden view), but by changing our starting dates , I was able to get the same room type at the same hotel and save a few hundred dollars over the original trip plan. Room only comparison.
I originally had booked at POR for 1/13 - 1/20 for standard view back in July anticipating the PSD. When I went online today right when the PSD was offered, I was not able to get anything better than a royal room -standard room. I saw your post and decided to play around a bit with the dates. I now get in a day early at POR (1/12-1/18) and end with two days at Beach Club (1/18-1/20) for same price as just staying at POR with PSD. I will have to pay out of pocket for extra day of dining but it's worth it for the amount Beach Club is offering their Gift of Magic room offer. Thanks!

We had a reservation for POR but changed to AK as well. We're going for 7 nights and the discount at POR was only $45. Wound up getting Visa discount which better than all other discounts.
We stayed at AK lodge last year for the first time, I loved it. One of my favorite resorts now.

Yeah, I actually changed to a Royal Room Garden View at PO: Riverside and then decided it really wasn't exciting me in any way. So I went back to my rack rate CSR Standard Room, I'm actually excited that we have a chance of a remodeled room. So I took that upgrade money I didn't spend and bought Disney After Hours Tickets during our stay.:confused3

We must have gotten very lucky. We saved $270 at POP 5 night/6 day base/QS.

I was expecting $100-$150 tops. So was very pleased with the discount. Decided against CBR or CSR due to all the construction, so that's about a $600 savings too by staying with the Value.

I had to leave for work at 7:10 am yesterday but began calling when I got to work. At 8:55 am I called and got right through to an absolutely great cast member. I asked her about Stay, Play and Dine and she told me she could do it but it would take a couple of tries. We wanted Riverside and a Royal Room. Took only two tries and she got everything to work. She really knew her stuff which was very helpful. She lives in the Orlando area and has two little girls and is at Disney all the time. Can't blame her for that. Anyways, it seems some people were fortunate to speak with great cast members while others were not. Hopefully as the dust settles everyone will get the discount they want. Hope everyone enjoys their upcoming trips!

Awesome! Glad that helped.

OCD me looks again this morning. Sure glad I booked last week as I booked the resort I wanted and think I got a good price in comparison to what I could get now. I booked a one bedroom savanna at Kidani for $2797.88, same price as the regular rate online this morning--no discount. I also booked two day tickets for 4 adults with my room last week for a total of $3225.96. Looking at that today would be a total of $3651.25.
1. Not sure about ticket prices, as my total looked low, but hey I got a receipt and confirmation number.
2. The room selection is horrible this week
3. I do not stay on top of all of this.
The Big question:
4. and if some one knows how 4 2-day adult ticket only cost $428.08 that would be interesting. I have looked at my email several times to make sure I am reading right.

We're booked at Saratoga Springs, but I'm hoping to see something open up at AKL or BC. While BC was never available, there was availability at AKL yesterday. I wish I would have just booked both while they were available and then figured out afterwards what I really wanted to do. This is insane. I remember one trip about 6 years ago, we decided on New Years Eve to take a trip that March and we still got availability and a great discount at BC.

That's wonderful! Do you know if you were able to snag one of the few PSD offers at Pop?

I was able to get a room discount but it only saved me $97 for 8 nights. Hoping a PSD opens up and I can snag it. Checking often just in case!

We are at Pop Feb 1-8 in a standard room and got the 10% discount. So strange that at the end of January there isn't anything available.

I think much of this has to do with the renovations. There are normally 2 buildings down for refurbishment at the same time which takes many rooms out of their inventory. They are also quite behind schedule for the renovations so I wonder if they might start taking even more rooms down in order to work at a faster pace? Just speculation on my part though. I will be surprised if more than 2 buildings are closed at the same time.

Another thought is now that refurbished Pop rooms have the 2 Queen beds, a number of people who used to stay at moderate resorts are moving over to Pop as the price point is a lot lower.

So for January after crunching the numbers I'm trying to decide between the following for me and my daughter:

Old Key West for 4 or 5 Nights

Contemporary for 4 Nights (This is the most expensive options)

Wilderness Lodge 4 or 5 Nights

Split visit option is

1 Night at Polynesian and the 3 or 4 nights at POFQ (least expensive option)

1 or 2 Nights at Pop and 3 Nights at Contemporary

The Old Key West is the next to least expensive option to the Poly/POFQ split but by 10 or 20 dollars and the Pop/Contemporary split is only a little more then both of those by about a $100.

I've never stayed at any of these so no clue what to choose..
