I’m so used to Disney World, and checking in online, but with my Aulani stay fast approaching, I have no idea how to do it!?

Can anyone please chime in and walk me through how to check in on-line?

Thank you:)

Thank you nkereina!!

I checked the link and hope it works! It does state I can’t do it until 10 days before I check in, so I assume if I put my confirmation # in, It wouldn’t work?

I rented points off an individual, so do I put my name or their name?

The reservation should be in your name, not the member's name. And yes, there is a limited window to use the on-line check-in. 10 days out up until 48 or 72 hours in advance (I honestly can't recall). We did on-line check-in last time and it was great - they gave us our keys outside as we were handed leis and never needed to go to the front desk.

We arrive Nov 10th, and I did try my last name and confirmation #, but a message came up saying they couldn’t find anything under my name or confirmation #. Is it possible it’s because I tried it too early?

You can go onto mydisneyreservation.com within 10 days prior to your arrival (no sooner). You need to select booked using a Disney Vacation Club membership, enter confirmation number, your last name and select Disney Vacation Club Villas in the drop down box. It won't let you check in until 10 days prior to your arrival. Please let us know if this works when you try it next month!

I will let you know for sure, thank you!

I guess I will be able to try it on Nov 1st as I check in on Nov 10th.

Renting points always makes me a bit nervous cause I can’t check to confirm I even have a reservation, and I have to ‘trust’ all is well!!

Thank you again for your help:)

I agree with the concern. I recall that we were able to call Aulani and make sure they had the reservation. They were able to look it up using the confirmation number and last name. I usually check a few times between booking and leaving town so that I can attempt to resolve any issues should they arise before we are standing at the check-in counter. We've never had a problem, but it makes me feel better. If you are concerned, call and make sure they have your reservation.

We did the online check in and lets just say room wasn't ready and they still sent us to the front desk.

You can look up your Aulani reservation while logged into the Disney web site at any time with your confirmation number. I did this as soon as the owner I rented from completed the reservation on their end. The owner sent me the confirmation too, but looking it up myself gave me peace of mind. In addition, you can do online check-in once the window opens up.

I didn’t know that!? I know how to check when I was staying at Disney World, but wasn’t sure how it worked when staying at Aulani.
Do you mean the Disney website as in ‘My Disney Experience?’
I called a number and spoke to someone at Aulani and they did confirm my reservation, phew!!

Thank you nkereina :)

I have a few questions for you ‘nkereina’ if you don’t mind. They’re totally unrelated to online check in haha!

I know you did a tour at Kualoa Ranch. We’re going to do one too...But not sure what way to do it, and would love your input.

I am going to book Kualoa Ranch, but should I book it in the am and then head over to Kailua Beach Park after for the afternoon....

OR

I’m also booking a Private Charter on a different day to go around the Kane’ohe Bay. This happens to be 15 mins from the Kualoa Ranch. So, I could do my Boat tour which is 10am-2pm and then book the Jungle Tour for 3:30pm afterwards, and head back to Aulani after.
Or I could just do the boat tour and head to Kailua Beach after or Laniakea Beach as well.

What do you think would work better?

Also, how long of a drive was it from Aulani to the Ranch and what day of the week did you go?

Thanks a bunch! :goodvibes

We did our Kualoa Ranch tour on a Wednesday morning. It was scheduled for 9:15, but we were required to be there by 8:30am for check-in. Google Maps showed about a 55 minute commute time from Aulani, but we left at 6:45am just to be safe. I was glad we did because there was an accident holding up traffic not too long after we got on the highway, which set us back. We also ran into traffic once we made it to the windward side of the island, as most of the road is one way in either direction. We ended up arriving at the Ranch exactly at 8:30. We did the VIP movie tour which was two and a half hours long, so we finished up around 11:30am and opted to eat lunch at the buffet at the Ranch which was delicious! We left the Ranch by 12:30, and stopped at the Byodo-In temple briefly. We then went to Kailua beach park and arrived probably around 2pm I'm guessing. It was moderately busy and we lucked out finding a parking spot in the lot after someone pulled out, so parking did appear to be a challenge that time of day. However, we didn't run into any traffic on the roads there ,and the beach itself didn't feel crowded at all. We didn't intend on a beach day, but I felt the timing of everything worked out well so I would do it this way again if we return, and if we visited Kualoa Ranch again.

If you go with option B, the boat tour followed by Kualoa Ranch, I think you'd run into rush hour traffic after the jungle tour on your way back to Aulani. So this would be my last option.

I think option C would work ok - doing the boat tour followed by Kailua. I don't think it would leave you as much beach time as option A (Kualoa Ranch followed by Kailua), so I would just prioritize which you are most interested in - the Ranch, Kailua, or the boat tour. We really enjoyed the Ranch, but we did the VIP movie tour. I can't speak to the jungle tour but our tour went through some parts of the jungle tour, and I'm not sure if it would be worth missing Kailua or the boat tour for.

Hi there:)

I apologize, I didn’t explain it very well on my part.

I do have 2 different days planned for all these activities.

I’m doing the boat tour for sure (10am-2pm) and then either Kailua Beach Park after for a few hours or the Ranch. I just wasn’t sure what to do?

On another day (non boat tour day) I either plan on spending the whole day at the beach (Kailua) and a few other beaches or I do the Ranch in the am and the beaches in the PM.

When does traffic start coming home?

That’s brutal it took you so long to get to the Ranch. Maybe a weekend would be better? Less traffic??

The two hour ATV tour at Kualoa is awesome. We did it last week and my wife, who's never ridden one before, had no issues and loved it (We're 63 years old). The scenery is amazing.

Oh gotcha! Sorry, I may have been reading too fast :)

On your boat tour day, I would do Kailua afterward and eat dinner somewhere around there too. Lots of cool, low key local type places in that area. PM rush hour traffic, very generally speaking, seems to be about 3-7pm. I assume the highest volume being like 4:30-6:30 window.

On the non-boat tour day, I would do the Ranch in the morning and Kailua in the afternoon. I definitely think the Ranch is worth the visit, especially if you're going to the beach on the boat day too (plus beach time at Aulani!). Kailua is awesome but unless you are big beach people, I don't think its worth it to forego the Ranch for a day and a half at Kailua.
