Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Well, good , very good and bad news for me

Very good First, - 19 Days Til I leave

The Bad - Can not make the move fast enough to snag a role in WDW but this is the Good news, in talking to the casting recruiter she liked what she heard and wanted to offer me the role. But she was looking for people to start within the next week and I couldn't have everything ready to go by then, but she did reach out and said when I do move down to Florida to let her now and she will se what she has for me so there is still a good chance I will be working there at some point.

I like the Freestyle machines because they had such a variety of Powerades. It was still quite warm when we were there in October. I was especially concerned about Pop getting dehydrated, and he likes Powerade (orange), so that was one less worry. Many of the kiosk have blue raspberry, but not necessarily orange.

We had a lovely stay at the Beach Club - Nov 28th to Dec 1st. Because we had done a split stay at the GF the first three days, we never had to take a bus to a park. (We didn't go to Animal Kingdom on this trip since we had spent a lot of time there last month.) We had booked a standard view room but got upgraded to a garden view room. My only request was a full balcony, which we didn't get but considering the location of the room, I was fine with the standing balcony. I think our rate of full balconies to standing balconies remains at about 50%.

We were in room 3636, which was very close to the lobby elevators and overlooked the volleyball court. The room was in that short wing that is on your right as you enter the lake side lobby doors. It was a very quiet room since there weren't very many rooms in that wing and therefore we only heard people walking past once. It had two queen beds and a daybed.

This is the view from room 3636 when looking straight out.

The ground floor windows on the left belong to the Marketplace and the Sandcastle Club.

You couldn't see the lake because of the trees and the side of the building in the way. It wasn't much of a view but the short walk to the elevator made this a great room. :)

I only took the one room picture because it was a normal room and there are plenty of pictures out there. :)

I posted this in the Beach Club room view thread. :)

The bed at the Beach Club was nice and cozy. I loved the pillows and took a picture of the label. I also took a picture of the blanket name. This brand of blanket was also in our rooms at Port Orleans Riverside and at the Grand Floridian. I had to call housekeeping at all three resorts in order to get the blankets.

Did I read somewhere that Beaches and Cream uses QS credits if you order food to go, or did I dream that up? Lol!

The only food you can order to go is ice cream unless something has changed since the last time I was there. As far as using QS credits I don't really know the answer to your question but maybe they would count ice cream as a snack. I'm sure someone will come along that will have a definitive answer.

If I recall, looking at the "Take Out" menu during my many walks past B&C when we were there in October, there was the Disney Dining Plan red logo next to the ice cream cones and drink selections [not milkshakes, just the regular drinks].

So so so sad that I'll be at Caribbean Beach this weekend instead of Yacht or Beach Club. :( I just couldn't find a good deal! YC, I'll be back for you in the spring!

Ha! Me too! :goodvibes We check into Carribean Beach Saturday for a week. DS & DDIL can't afford Y & B, so we're staying where they can afford. But I already have YC booked for April! :thumbsup2

But we'll definitely be stopping by to check out the wonderful Christmas decorations.

Thanks! After looking at the menu myself, it does just appear to be ice cream. Trying to get my dining all figured out and wasn't sure about Beaches and Cream. Is it worth using a TS credit for lunch or dinner there?

Hi there... just curious what sites you follow to see when the dis discounts come out? I use mousesavers but I"m wondering if there is app that alerts you, or a thread on here somewhere that keeps track? Thanks in advance!

Someone always posts on the discounts & codes subforum right here on the Dis as soon as any new discounts become available.

It doesn't seem exactly like a bad review to me, just that there's many more options nearby that are considerably better and more creative.
True, it is what it is, you go there because you want a quick sandwich or burger, and an Ice Cream. I'd go Yachtsman if I wanted a steak.

Never had a bad meal or service there personally, and been a few times now
I agree with only having positive experiences there. The food is freshly made, promptly served, and reasonably priced. My negative is trying to get a reservation, due to its small capacity and popularity.

Thats true. I think of my 4 visits, 2 were reservations, and 2 were walk ups.

They can often get you in at the counter, as I don't think they are reserved.
