So it looks like Be Our Guest is becoming Prix Fixe Meal and 2TS credits...thoughts?

I would love to try it...the rest of my family will want no part of this.

This will definitely cut out BOG as a dinner option...not for the cost but just because of the food.

Just because they have a new menu doesn’t mean it’ll taste any better then before...and I don’t think my DH or older kids will find anything here to eat...hopefully the kids menu is ok

Myself and many are assuming since it will become 2 TS credits that the quality of food will improve.

I’m ok with this. We really enjoyed our dinner there last trip and have another one booked for next month. We’re there before the changes come into effect but I’d still pay the new prices for dinner there. Dinner ADRs are hard to get and this may help alleviate some of the hassle of getting one.

I agree. I am on board with it as long as the food is improved. We have had lunch there multiple times and enjoyed it. We had dinner once or twice and thought that it was good, not great (also had breakfast there one time and did not like it).

The one thing that I love about DAK (my favorite park) are the food choices. I think, aside from Disney Springs, DAK has some of the best in park food, aside from the typical Restaurantosaurus and Pizzafari (I think that every park needs those types of choices as there are many people that prefer more standard fare as opposed to more exotic items). Knowing that we can experience a true, 2 credit, signature experience in DAK at Tiffins and the Nomad Lounge really adds to the park experience. This is one of those locales that helps elevate a Disney park above other parks. Tiffins and the Nomad Lounge are an in-park treasure for foodies.

That being said, MK just doesn't have an option like that. You could hop on the monorail and visit the resort signature restaurants I suppose. I just like knowing that there is an option of having enhanced dining within the boundaries of a park. And for me, until they added the Skipper Canteen, the MK had some of the lesser dining choices. This will help that now. I still wish they would add a TS or signature restaurant in TL as well.

I totally agree with you and agree on your assessment of the food offerings at AK as well. Visiting Nomad at AK has become an attraction in and of itself for my family - it's a complete oasis in the park. MK is the only park without a true signature (I don't count CRT) and is in need of one, IMHO. $55 for a three-course meal at WDW is not exorbitant when paying OOP, IMHO. I understand why those on the DDP may be hesitant to spend 2 credits if the quality and/or character meets aren't increased somehow, though. I will say, though, going prix-fixe is really the only way they could close the "cupcake" loophole. They cannot leave this restaurant with an a al carte menu and prevent people from just ordering dessert, which, based on the numerous threads on these boards, appeared to be a rampant exercise. Prix-fixe completely took care of that.

I'm not thrilled with the change. While our meals have been inconsistent (1 awesome, 1 just OK), they've still been relatively decent and a cut above Liberty Tree etc. There are plenty of great signatures on the monorail loop and I doubt this will become a great signature. It's Le Cellier all over again. The inside is cool, but the main room is very loud and crowded and is not a signature environment in my opinion. While $55 isn't too expensive for us, I don't see the value in it or forcing prix fixe on people who may want to eat less. I feel by going prix fixe/signature, they're just creating another CRT.

It seems every change lately seems to not be a good one for how we visit currently, but we'll be OK! I still like CHH for QS, and we can hop over to the Wave/Kona and Top of the World Lounge for drinks/fireworks. On the positive side to balance things out, we really enjoy Tiffins and the value that brought for AK visits to us.

Well .. when I first went to BOG for lunch in August of 2015, I enjoyed the ambience and was frankly shocked it was quick service. It was a nice atmosphere, and great experience to just order your food, find a table and have it brought to you. So, I've wanted to go back with my family FOR DINNER to experience the Beast M&G and have some different food options .. and I was planning on doing that for our next trip in November.

But at $55, (rumored) more expensive by a LOT than most character meals?) .. no thanks. I mean .. I'd try it (it looks delicious), but not at $55 after spending a lot of money getting into the park (and other things). I'd rather get a family style meal at Ohana or buffet meal at Crystal Palace over this.

If people think Skipper Canteen is too exotic for the Magic Kingdom, I can't imagine what people will think of this for dinner. Leave this type of food at Epcot or Disney Springs or a resort hotel and keep the most heavily Disney-themed restaurant to the families. Feels like a total bait and switch.

I don't see this going well. I don't see a lot of families spending that much money for a non-character meal. I gather dinner reservations at BOG dinner will be easy to get now, but on the flip side, it will make the QS lunch option WAY more in demand.

I could be wrong, but it looks like the prix fixe is designed to stop folks who get reservations just for cupcakes and to meet the Beast - probably looking for a bigger check amount per table.
That makes sense .. was that a really common practice?

My main question is - If is does go to Signature and requires 2 TS, will this mean you need to pre-pay when you make your reservations? I would think so.

I'm also bummed to lose the truffle mayo that came with the steak. That stuff was delicious.

We generally only do one signature/2 credit meal per trip and I don't see this knocking Tiffins off the list. Now to decide on a different 1 credit meal at MK when we were already considering dropping Skipper Canteen for next trip.

Moving this one to the rumors board

This is no longer a rumor. I called Disney Restuarant Reservations myself. They confirmed 2TS and the $55 price tag. There doesn't seem to be any a la carte items. So no more just ordering desserts. She also said she is pretty sure it will require pre-payment, but is not 100% on that yet. They will know more soon and definitely by Friday.

I think the menu looks good, and I totally understand why they are doing it. HOWEVER - the interior of the restaurant in NO WAY screams "signature" or "fancy". It screams "cafeteria decorated for Prom".

Nope.

This was a one and done with us for dinner, and the new menu doesn't appeal either. But the great thing about Disney is they have plenty of food place to choose from so us not going just means someone that likes it will. I do hope they keep lunch as a QS just because it's a fun place for Beauty and the Beast fans.

Personally, I am happy about this. Reservations have become impossible to get 180+10 days out and if it requires 2 table service credits, I think many will now pass on the restaurant. Though I am unsure about the Prix Fixe. As someone who can't eat gluten and normally skips dessert, I would prefer it not be prix Fixe.
I’m so happy that my lunch reservations are before the changeover. Given the menu items like charred octopus, I doubt that we will dine there in the future.
