Favorite hotel character meal?

Like to know what is your favorite character meal that are in the hotels. It can breakfast or dinner. We plan on having a rest day during our trip and think a character meal that day would be a nice treat. It will be just us two adults.

There aren't many choices.

1) Goofy's Kitchen at DLH does breakfast and dinner. I don't think they do lunch, but maybe on some days? Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Dale and Pluto. Although Mickey was there as a bonus on our last trip.

2) Storytellers at GCH is breakfast only. Chip, Dale, plus a couple other animal characters. Sometimes Koda or Kenai? Often Pluto. Not unique enough for my taste but many like the food.

3) Surfs Up at Paradise Pier. A little more out of the way, but seen by many as the best character interaction. Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Stitch and someone else? I don't think it gets as much traffic, so that probably accounts for the extra interaction.

Those are all sort of a toss-up in my book. We do GK out of tradition. But my favorite character meal overall is Plaza Inn where you can get twice as many characters, but it's in the park.

Surf's Up for sure. Breakfast only. You always meet Mickey (he's the "host" so you take the arrival photo with him in beach/"swim" gear) and we have always seen Stitch (DD's favorite), Minnie, Daisy and Pluto. We also saw Goofy there twice. Excellent character interaction, fun little kids dance party. Food is OK. Fewer choices than Goofy's but similar stuff and quality. Storytellers definitely has the best food but the characters are not my favorite (see post above for details).

EDIT: sorry, I totally missed that its just two adults. I'd probably do Storytellers in that case since the characters are still fun but the food is better (unless you're a huge Stitch fan or something. Surf's up is the only place you can reliably find Stitch at DLR).

I have been to Storytellers for breakfast with my daughter who is also an adult and we loved it. The food is excellent and Chip and Dale are always playing tricks on one another and sneaking up on you. They will have you laughing the entire time. The salted caramel sauce is AMAZING!!! They have salted caramel french toast and the sauce on the side as well in case you want to pour it on waffles etc. It's my favorite!!!:-)

We liked surfs up because it was a little more relaxed and you had the big time characters (Mickey/Minnie/Daisy + Stitch.

It is out of the park, so would be perfect for a non park day (such as the you depart)

I’ve heard story tellers is good due to the sheer number of characters, even if they are not the most popular.

Storytellers for breakfast feels (and tastes!) more upscale, more calm and “adult” to me. If it were just DH and I we would definitely do Storytellers.

If you want fun, exciting, noisy with more popular characters, Goofy’s Kitchen for dinner is our favorite with kids

I thought I read Goofy's was brunch, not breakfast. Also seems none of them are open before park opening. Not sure if that's true or not.

Usually they are open before park opening, especially weekends and peak times. Just not necessarily before early entry hours. Today they open at 7am, parks open at 8.

Goofy's is breakfast until around 1 and then closes until 4pm when it opens for dinner. Hours vary by season and crowds but in that ballpark

Good to know. Thank you!

Disneyland sure is different from WDW. Things seem to change much more frequently.
