I was told plastic tickets would mailed out and could be linked in MDE

I was told the same thing. I went into MDE as soon as I got off the phone and linked the tickets using the confirmation they sent me. They ask you to assign the ticket to a person and then they were linked and showing on the ticket summary.

So excited! Going to be a great way to end our first anniversary on 7/21! Bought my tickets last night!

Always great when the CM is just as excited as you are :)
I bought mine for August 11th last night too! I spoke with an awesome CM too. I wonder if it was the same one? :D I can't remember her name, but I stayed on the line for the survey to give her all 5's.

My rep told me they were "will call" tickets and gave me a confirmation number. She said nothing would be mailed. Maybe there are two ways for them to process the tickets? I didn't have an issue linking the tickets. My tickets were purchased through DVC member services, but I wouldn't think that would make a difference.

I just got tickets for after hours and they told me I could link them in My Disney Experience, but I can’t figure out where?
If you sign into My Disney Experience, and go to My Reservations and Tickets, you can link them there with the confirmation code they gave you.

Got my ticket for July 9, but when I went into MDE to link it, it says it's for February 9,2017?? Anyone else having issues with the wrong date showing? I called ticketing and spoke to a CM who confirmed that the ticket is for July 9, but I'm afraid to link it. If I print out the confirmation email and take it with me, will I be able to use that to just get a hard ticket? I have an AP, so really no need to link to MDE.

Same issue. I just linked mine and it says March 2, 2017. When I purchased them for one of the nights in January they also sent me plastic tickets in the mail. I brought them just in case but didn't end up needing them.

I just did the same linked my confirmation number in MDE with no problem!

The table on Post 1 shows the sell-out dates for the winter 2018 events that sold out. But I think those patterns could be out the window for these summer dates, especially the Saturday ones. TBD of course! :-)

I'm waiting for AMEX gift cards to arrive (late next week) to use for the purchase. I would hope a July date won't sell out by then.

I was also told that I don't really need the hard ticket, but they mail them anyway, as long as I link it in MDE. I would think that should be the same for a will call situation as well. I would link with your confirmation number and try just with that and avoid having to line up at will call. Or you never know, you may end up with a ticket mailed to you anyway and perhaps the CM was just misinformed (shocking, I know!)

So...if I link this ticket in MDE, and it is now on my magic band, how do I make sure that when I enter the DAH ticket is used and NOT one of my 10 day ticket days?

Kind of relieved it's not offered during our trip. Once less thing to pay for or decide upon. I do think it would be super fun.

The CM I spoke with didn't mention anything about mailing a ticket. She gave me a number and told me to link it in MDE. We'll see what happens...I haven't linked it yet.

I’d also like to know this.
Also, if we can enter the park at 7pm can we book fastpass?

When/if you enter through the designated DAH entrance at the front gate, the scanners or set to read your DAH ticket media, not a regular park ticket.

When people enter the park at a regular gate, that will deduct a regular day ticket. Some people have accidentally done this by mistake in the past, unintentionally.

Does that make sense?

Nothing is "on" your magic band. Your magic band links to whatever is in your MDE. All the tickets, fastpasses, etc live in your MDE & the magic band just transmits that info to the readers in the park. That's why you can use multiple magic bands & they all work.

When you go to DAH, or any special event for that matter, make sure you enter thru the special "event" entrance. Those spots will be set to take that specific admission. So it will scan your DAH ticket & not one of your regular park days.

After linking to MDE I received a confirmation email with the correct date so I'm not worried about it

Maybe I misread, but if you are allowed to enter the park at 7pm (on a night the event is 10pm-1am), is it true that the lanyard can be used as a fastpass?

Good point about getting the tickets in the mail! Who knows what will happen. I immediately linked them and assigned to the right people in MDE so no line for me unless something goes wrong (fingers crossed Disney IT is kind to us). Honestly I needed to confirm the date in MDE to believe it was all set after the discrepancy in dates between the blog post and website. I'm not worried about getting anything in the mail. In haven't received a physical ticket for anything since we started using MagicBands (except my Annual Pass card, but I never thought of that as a ticket because I never used it that way).

Reports of CMs allowing this during the Winter 2018 DAH dates were rather inconsistent. It seemed to work for some, but not others - and it ‘generally’ seemed to be in the last hour before regular park closing.... in that time when things were starting to wind down for the day.

Personally, I’d keep expectations pretty low for it working as a FP, especially for the whole 7pm-10pm timeframe. But of course, YMMV! :-)

You explained this very well. Thank you. I, unfortunately, made a poor choice in using the phase "on my magic band". "in" makes more sense. I'll look for the designated entrance.
