Disney to cancel FPs if room is cancelled

Meanwhile...someone just reported on FB that their window opened at 68 days. Way to go MDE developers!
This is definitely closed now. Not sure what happened except another example of Disney IT at it's finest.
I went on to check if I could get FP since my window opens next week and I got this message:

"To continue, please address the issues that apply to these Guests.
Have a vacation package? Looks like you’re early. Please come back 60 days prior to check-in."

It didn't open consistently for everyone. My first 60 day window was Tuesday and it did not open early. Neither have my other two windows for my split stay (grr). Some people are still reporting booking early.

I'm more than a little annoyed that people have been able to book fastpasses early whereas with a split stay what should have been 60+4 for slinky dog is now 60+1 and we probably won't get it.

I am one who is experiencing the rolling window and can book fastpasses through May 13 as of right now. We have tickets purchased from a 3rd party vendor that are not date-based and 2 of us have AP's. Prior to my rolling window beginning, I completed online check-in at both of our resorts for our split-stay. Our official fp window opens March 12.

Make that waking up 8 straight nights at 3:51am. I need a couple of minutes to get my index finger warmed up. :)
It’s 3:30 for me - I need coffee to get my brain working before I warm up the fingers. A lot of WDW seems to involve 0 dark 30 mornings - ADRs, DVC 11 month bookings, early morning treks to the airport, FPs, etc..

Here's an update... for all of the dummy reservations I made over the last week and booked FP using (and then cancelled the dummy reservation): none of the FPs have disappeared.

So at least at this point, FPs are NOT being cancelled. Who knows what the future will hold...

Meanwhile, I have a set of AP vouchers that is allowing me to book FPs into June (that have no resort stay whatsoever).... so there is that...

New data point from some of my tests, not sure how informative it is given the systems wonkiness, but here it is FWIW. I made a reservation for 4/30-5/12 room only with AP. Last week the FP window opened early (should have opened this morning) and I scheduled FOP. I then modified that reservation to 5/3 to 5/17. (This was on 2/24 at 10pm) I was given NO warning of any kind regarding FPs. This morning I got this email:

We see a change has occurred that impacts your eligibility for the following FastPass+ experiences on 05/08/2019:

Avatar Flight of Passage If action is not taken to restore your eligibility, these FastPass+selections are subject to cancellation on 03/02/2019.

To keep your FastPass+ selections, by 03/02/2019, you may need to:

  • Purchase another ticket and link it to your My Disney Experience account.
  • Link a ticket you already have to your My Disney Experience account.
  • Link an eligible Resort Reservation to your My Disney Experience account.

There it is...with the "grace" period that was rumored.

Might have put it into action to begin on March 1st...who knows?

Funny, it says no decision has been made and then it says management has reported a significant portion of the fast passes will be allocated for monetization. ... that sure sounds like a decision to me. I’m all for it, if it guarantees me a ride without a bunch of shenanigans:0) i’m happy to pay to play.
I just figure I already paid when I bought my expensive ticket. But maybe AP holders pay less per visit and don't have the same visceral reaction I seem to be having to this.

Can you see if the system lets you make another FP at AK for that same day on that ticket? Just curious if it will let you or if it thinks you don’t have a ticket. Thanks for checking!

I think it has more to do with my family dynamic than having an AP. I have no problem with lines but my kids and DH do. Every extra minute spent in line decreases their compliance with my Disney obsession. In short, keeping them out of lines keeps me going to Disney world, so it’s worth it to me.

It won’t because the early window isn’t open anymore and since I modified the ressie window doesn’t open u til the 4th. But it will let me make Fps in the next 30day so it is definitely recognizing my AP

I have APs and I love paid extras. I buy the APs so far in advance that money is gone and out of my head at the point when my trips roll around. It's all Disney math denial. :)

That was kind of my theory. I haven't even purchased my tickets yet so need to come up with a big chunk of money for admission, and they already might want more.
