Just used P2’s cap1v to apply for global entry for him. Hopefully it credits easily and hopefully those GE approvals and appts come quickly! Our trip is end of May, and it’s crazy that I feel like that could be cutting it close! It should be PLENTY of time. :sad2:

Trying to plan for AUS. We have BoostMobile so I don’t think that will work while we are there. Any recommendations for how to handle cell service?

I got an email right away from Cap1 saying we’d used the global entry credit and we’ll be reimbursed within the next 2 billing cycles.

Just got an email that SW is giving e A-List through June 30, 2020 for being a valuable customer. I have 4 flights in that window.

What benefits do I get? Boarding between the A and the B group?
I've been getting boarding positions in the A. I think they check you in before the early birds. On one flight that was booked at very short notice(after being cancelled), I went between A and B. I think the A1-15 would go to A list Preferred.

So they check me in? That is nice. I can just focus on getting my companion check in as quickly as possible.

I have never booked using Hilton Points before (just got the Surpass in 2019). DD and her DH invited us on part of their Scotland trip this fall and I was thinking of doing 4 nights in London first. I have some points, could buy enough Hilton points with the current 100% bonus promotion to get 3 nights with points and I have a free weekend night certificate. It looks like standard reward rooms are available all 4 nights at the Conrad London. It also looks like it is cheaper to buy 100,000 points for $500 than booking with a combination of the points I have now and cash.

So my question is do I grab the points and rooms now even though our trip is not finalized? Is it easy to cancel reward stays/free weekend night stays? I am a nervous international traveler as it is and don't want to miss out on reward rooms, however we don't have airfare or certain plans yet.

Ok I’m coming up on year one of this and need to re-evaluate.

~ $2500/mo regular organic spend that can be cc with another $200-500 in various bills and purchases scattered throughout, depending on the month. Not sure about a business card this go. Also not not sure about it. We were originally focused on URs to either cash out or transfer to partners for an anniversary trip to Scotland and a WDW trip. Disney trip 2019 has come and gone, and we have taken Scotland off the table for 2020 as we’d like to focus on some home improvement stuff instead. Which means URs would be most beneficial. No current plans for WDW 2020 although we have tickets covered if we want to go thanks to DH’s job. We’re also both starved for travel and a little sad at delaying our trip yet another year. Wondering if maybe focusing on MRs for a bit or even airline/hotel specific rewards will help to give us a chance to do a smaller domestic trip or 2 in the meantime while we allocate URs to home stuff this year. Thoughts??? I’ll also need help figuring out what and when to PC but that can be for another post.

I'm waiting on Hilton Points to post from my Aspire MSR. I see them on my last statement, but they haven't showed up in my Hilton Honors account yet. I saw some posts on DoC mentioning that AMEX was reviewing some accounts to check for qualifying purchases, so I went back and looked at my own purchases. I redeemed the the $30 back on $300 at Best Buy offer from a couple months back on DGC and also bought a DGC from the Disney Store when there was a high cash back day on RMN. Other than that everything else was normal spend. So does AMEX see those 2 charges and know they are GC's because of the even numbers, or should my points post soon since they are showing on my statement? We're working on 2 SW MSR's right now, so add a large amount of spend to that card if it's not necessary.
Mine haven't posted yet either, but I did get an email for the free weekend night certificate

My points haven't posted either, but I got the free night email this week. I'm a little concerned as I met the spend with a property tax payment, and I recall someone having issues with Amex counting property taxes as part of the spend. I really don't want to have to fight for them, but I'm waiting for these points to make a booking!

It's very easy to cancel the reservation. Just click a button on the reservation in your account. As for speculatively buying 100,000 for $500, I can't comment. It'll depend on if you have use for those points if you decide to not go on this trip. Will you have another use for these points "worth" $500? I will say that I have looked at various Conrad properties (not London specifically) and reward rooms are hard to come by.

If you guys can see them on your statement, I think it's just taking time to transfer for some reason. Those of us who have to had to fight for our points, never even saw them on the statement at all.

Keep us posted on this! I’m hoping to put property taxes on an Amex card during MSR within the next month, but don’t remember reading about the possibility of it not counting. Maybe I did and I just forgot.

Hi all. I'm not looking for advice as such (got that bit covered :) ) but I'm looking for experiences.
We visited the US for the first time in around 10 years in 2018. We always used to take Amex travelers cheques as they were ideal for us. This time we got caught out as although most Disney stores take them, many other places don't (or claim they don't).
We're visiting this year so are planning on done form of card payment.
Our 'usual' card charges for every foreign exchange transaction so we're looking at options for a specific card.
Is anyone aware of problems with stores accepting/not accepting prepaid cards (mastercard)
Many thanks
