Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Attractions Planning

I've been to WDW several times and our next trip at the end of March will be for Galaxy's Edge, which we've been SO excited about. My 60 day FP window was 10 days after the Jan 19th announcement of MFSR FPs. I was logged in to MDE and began refreshing at 6:59am with the plan to get a MFSR FP first on day 60+4. MDE kept giving me an error page for FIVE minutes. By the time MDE let me in, both MFSR and SDD were gone. Clearly they were grabbed up by folks staying for more days than us and/or by those who got them between 7-7:05am. I've been reading every WDW blog, forum, and news source since to see if there's any hope of still getting a MFSR FP and it doesn't seem likely unless they extend the morning HS park hours (late March opening is currently 9am). I've been searching on MDE multiple times a day and I know to definitely check at 45 and 30 days out as well as the days before our trip, but I'm wondering if it's just wasted time and energy? I've always loved researching, hacking, and optimizing our WDW trips but have never experienced this level of challenge. I currently have all the other hard FPs including FOP, SDMT, and Frozen. I've wrapped my head around the ROTR BGs, and my plan pre-FP release was to ride MFSR during evening EMH when the predicted wait time was 30-40 min, but that plan was blown out the window with FP since the standby line will never be that short now. If HS park hours are extended and more FPs are released, I'm afraid it will happen so quickly that I'll miss it! Honestly I'm beginning to think I'd rather cancel and reschedule this trip than go in knowing we'll have to wait in line for hours to ride MFSR. Does anyone out there have any advice? Help me DISboards Friends, You're my only hope!
I think the idea of cancelling the trip all together because of one attraction is a bit much. You have a lot of alternatives
keep checking for fp, people change their trips all the time
rope drop. The standard opening rope drop wait time is 60 min, as in that's what they put on the clock when they open, but this is actually not true since no one is inside the attraction. So if you position yourself early enough for rope drop you will see a walk on ride all the way to maybe 45 min wait
End of the day is also a really good time to hit MFSR. Most people hve been done with the land and are either in Fantasmic or SSWaGS

I personally do not think that FP distribution is going to dramatically change end of evening standby experiences for MFSR all that much. Maybe on the margins, sure, but that’s a time of day you still tend to see material fall off in waits even for rides with FPs. Don’t underestimate the nighttime shows (plural) ability to pull massive amounts of people away from rides, even MFSR.

Some other things to watch - initial observations seem to indicate it is likely that Disney was light on the FP inventory they released so far. Will more be released as more operational data is obtained? Will there be same day drops?

There is still much to learn about performance come 2/19 and beyond.

Does DISboards immediately announce changes in park hours? Just wondering if there's any way to be quickly notified when HS changes their park opening times without having to constantly check MDE.

DISBoards? No. Sometimes there are watch threads, or someone will post a thread that hours were changed - but that requires checking here.

Touring Plans offers a sign-up service where they will e-mail you when park hours change for whatever dates you enter. It's not immediate, but usually within a day or so. I believe it requires a Touring Plans annual subscription (which isn't very much).

they don’t have FP during EMH so the line should start to drop quicker once EMH start. Obviously no one knows the impacts of FP on MFSR yet but I would not cancel my entire trip over not having a FP at this point in time.

Ahh I forgot that it doesn't have FP during EMH! It's settled, I'm not giving up the search and we're going regardless:)

Does the ability to select a BG exist when you enter the park at the start of morning EMHs? Or can you only select a BG after morning EMHs is over? Sorry, I have searched for this answer but can't find.

They've only had 1 morning emh, and that day the bg did not open at emh but some random time after. It was a big mess ans that's when they switched to evenings emh. RotR does not operate during emh
I would say continue monitoring park hours as those morning emh might be moved to evenings.
But, at this point, if they keep morning emh we don't know how they're going to proceed

This AM got Boarding Group 3, rode TSM, walk on at RD. Now holding in line at Rise, as it is down. Rey came through for photos and they passed out chips, 🍌 & water. Now I hear cheering & line is moving!

So we got off the shuttle into the hanger & they evacuated the ride & have us anytime FP for today only. Just sucks, oh well first world problems

**(Spoiler for part of ROTR maybe?)** Hi! I'm trying to gauge the intensity of the "drop" portion of ROTR. We are a group with 3 generations, so i'm trying to see if I should recommend that the grandparents not ride. I know that no one else (including me) can pinpoint exactly how a ride may affect someone...
They won't be doing any coasters or ToT, and probably not other more intense motion simulators. But this experience seems gentle for the most part.
Anyone have input or thoughts? Comparisons to other attractions?

We’re in the grandparent age group but ride all the coasters. I’d compare the RotR drop to Pirates. Other parts include rapid turns and stop-and-go movements but on a level surface. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with a sensitive back or neck or for an expectant mother.

Do you know where the rope is physically located for Galaxy's Edge? I'm thinking its at the junction of Commissary Lane and Grand Ave. If that's the case, is it faster to use Commissary Lane or go to the left around Echo Lake to get there?

Thanks!

They stop you at the entrance to GE

EMH in the mornings aren't happening right now, only evening at HS. The boarding groups will open at exact time the park is scheduled to open so get thru security before opening time.

Hope folks can help with this. My wife has had a back injury, and I'm always trying to be cognizant of things that might cause her distress. Sometimes I forget things. For example, we went on MidWay Mania, with me thinking about the parts of the ride where you're shooting targets. What wasn't so good was when we were moving between screens, with sudden accelerations, decelerations and spins. She weathered it, by jamming her elbows into the sides of the seat to stabilize herself.

So, compared to those elements of Midway Mania, how violent are the RotR and Smuggler's Run movements. Based on what I've read, I'm guess that Smuggler's Run will be off limits and RotR might be doable.

I've only ridden MFSR so far, but it was a lot rougher than I expected. I'd compare it to Dinosaur for how much I was tossed about.

If TSM bothered her I would say neither attraction will work. Is there a way she can wear a back brace? RotR is similar in movement as TSM, MFSR I would definitely say no to
