Trans Friendly Stores at Disney Springs

My fiancé and I are going to Walt Disney World in a few weeks. I’m really wanting to buy and new outfit at Disney springs, but don’t know which stores are Trans friendly. Can anyone help me find some good stores to go to? If you’re trans or non binary what are your experiences shopping at Disney Springs.

I’m also interested in getting measured for a bra for the firs time and might need help with fitting. I’m very nervous going out to buy feminine clothes

No idea, but just wanted to be sure, my main anxiety comes from guest behaviors, but it would suck being embarrassed by a cast member (though I’ve always doubt they’d do anything prejudice at a place like Disney.)

Anna were on the same team...and I’ll be Frank no one cares at Disney.

me and my husband and now child have been countless times and never had a bad experience, ever when it came to our sexuality.

...I also don’t deck myself out in rainbow either.

thats great to hear, I don’t plan to be a queen while at the parks, nor do I really do that ever. I’m not a flashy person when it comes to what i wear. But if I decided to wear a skirt or feminine shorts or wore some form of make up, or whatever I’m hoping it won’t bring us trouble. I’m a paranoid person, can you tell. Unfortunately the world can be a judgmental and Dangerous place and for people of the lgbtq community we all have to be cautious sometimes. I hate it

I understand what you mean. And with due respect to pp, my fellow cis LGB sometimes don’t understand the unique problems that trans people especially trans women can face. A place that is gay friendly isn’t necessary going to be trans friendly.

Thankfully WDW is for the most part. We are cis but have met plenty of trans and gender non conforming folks at the parks and chatted from time to time about our experiences. All raved about how great it is. Cast are very welcoming and affirming and many fall somewhere in the alphabet themselves. Guests...well, the overwhelming majority are cool about diversity. There are ignorant people everywhere but they are a distinct minority at the parks. On a related note, I can count the microaggressions I’ve experienced at Disney as a queer black woman on one hand and all were from other guests. But they were in no way representative...we’re talking less than 1%. There is no safer place imo.

While I haven't tried on clothes there, the vibe I've received from cast members in general is very nice and being treated like any other guest. The only time I get some anxiety is having to use a busy bathroom, but that's pretty much been a known anxiety since I first began.
I would imagine the number of LGBT cast members and guests, Disney would be fairly understanding about it.

As an etro mum I would tell you that it would depend on how short/revealing the skirt or shorts would be. And this would be also true for any other lady on property (and I would add t-shirt to the mix as well) . If it is something you would consider wearing at the club, don't wear it at an amusement park.
About the behaviour thing raised by someone else? I think the same applies. During our last park visit a gay couple was making out on the Dumbo ride infront of our daughter waving to every one on the ride while taking selfies while doing it. Now I think everyone would agree that that wasn't the right place or time for such a thing. But you know, there will always be idiots no matter the gender, colour, beliefs or sexuality. It is just a pity that they ruin it for everyone else creating judgment for a full group, when this is not the actual case.

Understandable concern, they're not revealing in any way, skirt goes down bellow my knees and the shorts aren't short short but i also wear them with leggings most of the time. I'll most likely be wearing jeans the entire trip, but if i decide to be brave and go out with a modest skirt or jean shorts so i don't melt in the sun.

So outside of all the buzzwords you used what did you say that differs from what I did?

I wear rainbow pride shirts all the time at Disney. No one has ever said anything.

Hey @Chuck S more power to you! I’m all for it, and am so happy you don’t get any comments or looks, that shows the power of Disney’s inclusivity!

I personally just don’t feel the need to advertise my sexuality outside of my husband and son, but am so happy others can comfortably!

I don't know of any place at DS that does bra fittings, trans or GG.

Same here. I don't think my partner or I (both trans) have tried on clothes at DS or elsewhere, but I know that bathrooms - usually a key indicator of problem - haven't been an issue outside of our own anxiety. No CMs have hassled us or anything, there've been fewer odd glances than during an average non-Disney day, etc. The first time I swam post-top was at a pool at Disney, and while I was convinced I would be yelled at or threatened for indecency and have to explain myself, no one cared. People are so caught-up in their own vacations, their own kids, their own Disney time, that they tend to ignore everyone around them - and for once that's a good thing!

While LGB people aren't always better than their straight counterparts on trans issues, there has certainly been more awareness within the community over the past few years and a lot less judgment.
