Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

On a resort day, do any BC/YC'ers stroll into Epcot for just one attraction or to grab quick-service to-go to bring back to the resort? I'm staying at YC in July, and I have these idyllic notions of having the luxury of going in and out of Epcot whenever I have a hankering to ride Soarin' or enjoy a French baguette and cheese from my patio, et al.
We do it all the time. :) My favorite thing to do is to stroll into Epcot minutes before the fireworks.

Like the others, it's become somewhat of a set tradition for our arrival day. We usually take an early flight so are up at 2:00 or 3:00 AM on travel day. Usually at the resort before noon. With room not ready we'll check our carry-ons with bell services and then take a leisurely stroll around World Showcase. We usually get our room ready notification around 2:00ish so will head back to the room, get settled in and then back to Epcot around 4:00 PM for our latest tradition on arrival day .....FEA FP+, not to mention a beverage or 2 on our stroll around WS. Then it is typically an early dinner somewhere on the BW. You'll love the location, options, and flexibility to do whatever you desire!

I love it!

Absolutely. I have an AP so I don't have to worry about burning a day on my park tix.

Hi all! Been a while since I was able to say we are heading back to this beautiful resort. We spent the last 3 trips are CSR. While it is nice there, it isn't BC/YC. So we are booked at GF 9/5 - 9/9 and then we move over to Beach club from 9/9 to 9/19. Our favorite resort during our favorite festival! Now to catch up on all the info I have missed.

Absolutely! It’s the best part of staying at BC/YC

Hey Dee the next time you revise the Be Our Guest list our dates for 2021 changed a bit we will be staying Yacht Club May 3-13th 2021 and also a Mother Daughter Trip 9-30-21 to 10-4-21 Yacht Club :cool1::thumbsup2 Thank You:daisy:

We have an upcoming stay at the YC and while we’ve stayed at BW before, I can’t remember how it works with using the IG entrance for rope drop for FW.

Will they let you in before 9 am at IG to walk closer to FW for rope drop?

We’ve never really rope dropped from IG. Only for an early ADR for Akershus, so I have no idea.

Thanks!!!

I think it's fair to say that the daily rope drop experiences for IG will vary. I've had times when we have been held at security until actual park open, or held at the tapstiles until actual park open. For the most part, security and the tapstiles will open 10 - 15 minutes before actual park opening and you will be staged at the top of the walkway before the UK and by the bridge to France on your right. Others experiences might be different but wanted to share ours.

My most recent experience at the IG rope drop was allowing guests to clear Security and pass through tapstiles, about 10-15 minutes prior to park opening, and then holding everyone at England, until official opening time. We had to allow an open pathway along the far right side, for those with pre-opening ADRs to pass through into the park. A few minutes before opening, warnings were issued that running was not permitted, and most people complied.

Thank you! Love the inconsistencies at Disney! Part of the adventure!

I booked one last week around my 180 day mark and the cast member was awesome and yes I was able to pick a specific number.

I don't think I have you on the Be Our Guest list. August trip? BC?

:goodvibes

We changed our BWV stay to a split stay with BCV and Coranado Tower stay For this June. BC 6-10 to 6-15 and CSR 6-15 to 6-19 if you would add me to Be our Guest.

We normally stay at BWV 1bd room cash, we are getting a BCV by paying cash. For Cash reservations it's a standard view. Any good room requests. I was thinking 1st floor, close to elevator by the pool?

Any other tips for BCV? We will be going to EPCOT quite a bit, so I will look for the secret passageway.

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

I'm not knowledgeable about the villas, but it looks like you have received some decent advice and suggestions from our experts.

:thumbsup2

Please add us to the Be Our Guest list...we will be at YC June 24-30, 2020.

:welcome: back! Will do!

:cool1:

We booked on 180 days from the UK and had our choice of the 4. I didn't know I could choose and the lady on the phone explained where each one was. Chose No 3! Was a very simple process and the cast member was very helpful

:welcome: to posting on the thread and thanks for sharing your input!

Do you have an upcoming trip to the resort?

I‘m sure I read somewhere that Disney keeps feral cats in its parks (apparently they are well taken care of) in order to keep the vermin down. Perhaps the hotels have the same use too. I remember a few years back staying at the Portofino Bay at Universal and there were feral cats there but unfortunately they had not been neutered but when we returned the following year a staff member staying they had been rehomed. I agree with hoping that Mickey and Minnie are protected :)

:welcome:

I'm a cat person and glad to see them put into useful service at resorts and theme parks. We saw lots of friendly cats along the beach last week. Can't think of many better assignments for a feline than keeping critters at bay at WDW, DL or Hawaii!

Any suggestions on room number or area for a standard Yacht club room?

If you haven't done so yet, check out the sample of room descriptions posted in the YC Room Views thread in the Resorts Community subforum.

::yes::

I would like to be added to the Be Our Guest list! We are celebrating our 25th anniversary there (we spent our honeymoon there!) September 8th-14th.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list!

Was your honeymoon stay at the Beach Club? If so, the resort must have been relatively new at the time.

I took the Friendship. They were running by 6:30am when DHS opened at 7am.

Thanks for your input.

Hi How is the transport to all the parks from here, especially Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom, thanks

:welcome:

Do you have a stay booked at the resort?

Others have provided their feedback. IMHO,

MK- bus is pretty reliable to the park. I have not experienced long waits in the morning or early afternoon. The wait for the bus coming back in the afternoon can be lengthy (20 plus minutes), but my family enjoys coming back through EPCOT via the monorail anyway. As WoodNymph said, actual ride is 12-15 minutes.

AK- have only used the bus first thing in the morning, for rope drop. Never had an issue

HS- I'm not a fan of the boat, because it can be hot and crowded. Especially in the morning, not all of the people waiting on the dock will be able to get on the first boat that arrives. I tend to walk, about 20 minutes.

EP- simple 7-10 minute walk from YC or BC.

:cool1:

I’m booked to go to YC in August. I love BC/YC but have only stayed in the BC half (on two occasions past 2 years). I would love to know what YC’ers prefer about the YC (e.g. room amenities) compared to the BC, to get me even more excited for my trip. I’m aware YC rooms have balconies, versus potluck with BC. I think I see reading lights on the beds at YC from photos, but what other little touches do you appreciate?

:welcome: to the thread!

I like both resorts. The guaranty of a full balcony at the YC is really a plus. There is an abundance of storage at the YC. Not that it is limited at the BC, but there are lots of options for your stuff at the YC.

We are leaning towards using Uber/Lyft a lot for our next trip. When you go to MK, do you do drop off at the Contemporary? Will they let your Uber in for drop off?

Thanks!!!

:welcome:

When is your trip?

The buses will bring you to the MK gates.

Minnie Van will bring you to the bus drop-off area (MK gates)

Uber/Lyft can only drop off at the TTC, or the Contemporary if you want to walk in from there.

:car:

Let the countdown begin! T-14 days until our stay at BCV and we can’t wait. For morning buses to MK is it better to walk over to the YC stop to ensure a seat?

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

I have not found it necessary to walk over to the YC for a seat on the bus first thing in the morning, but it is a good option to have up your sleeve if the BC stop appears busy.

:thumbsup2

Very excited to be jumping back into this group! We'll be at BWV 6/27-7/2, then moving over to Y&B. We are doing 2 nights YC CL (7/2-7/4) followed by BC non club from 7/4-7/7. We're dipping our toes into club level and thinking of taking advantage of the extra fastpasses. Never stayed on the YC side before so looking forward to trying that out. BC is our favorite resort, so we wanted to end on that high note.

Your plans sound great, but I think you need a minimum three night CL stay, to be able to purchase the extra Fastpasses.

Does anyone know how to access the internet wifi terms and conditions if it doesn't come up for you automatically? I can get it on my phone but not my laptop and the cm on call away tech support insists there is no such page even though I saw it on my phone. Really need to get on with my laptop for work if possible!

So sad. Checked out of BC villas on Sat. 2/15. We rented DVC points and loved the resort and location. Could see Epcot fireworks from the balcony. Also lucked out and room was next to a storage area and had no neighbors and HUGE balcony.

Club level fastpasses require a 2 night club level stay and must be purchased for 3 days.
