Posting in reference to removing non-riders from F&F list. I removed several people yesterday (most I could do, called to have 1 stubborn one removed by IT). Also removed a linked adult who isn’t going, but it keeps their child linked, who is joining us. Also, my son is 2, so not riding but needs to stay on my list. I changed his last name to add an A at the beginning, so he populated to the very top of the list. That way, we can hit select all, remove the very first person, then hit continue, without having to scroll the page. Definitely helped save those precious milliseconds!

ETA: we have 8 riders, so previously had to scroll the page when removing non-riders.

Practising from home........my name and husband‘s name were missing when I went to hit select all this morning. There should be four of us listed. I guess just my kids will be virtually riding today. Lol.

Ugh. Practicing at home. And my daughter‘s name was missing from party selection this am. I assume if this happens at the parks that I need to screen shot and move on to BG selection? And hope they add her later? This makes me think she should be using her own log in on MDE just to cover all the possible issues. I did verify that she is still very much listed in MDE so her name simply glitched today for BGs.
On a more positive note putting the clock app and Disney app and Watching the red second hand simplified the countdown (using iPhone 11) so thank you for that advice.

Closing the app, didn’t help the issue for us. GET said they were not issuing any additional BG even with the issue. They did agree to give me a FP for MFSR for later this week. They offered a FP for something else, so I said I wanted a FP for MFSG (I wasn’t able to snag one when they became available) . She made a phone call and got approval to do so.

Today, off of WiFi, got boarding group 20. Hoping we can get to ride.

I always go straight to "my status" if the join BG button is greyed out.

In that case, I usually do a refresh once, then close app and restart as there's not enough time to wait for the app to correct itself. You'd probably get a backup group in park if that happens, but better than no group.

Yes. Just take whatever BG you can get. If someone is not listed, go to the GET.

Yep. This happens sometimes. There are posts that people have gotten the BGs then gone back and tried for the missing people again and either gotten them a BG that GET has moved up or shown them the screenshot.

Actually, in thinking about it, yes. I’ve had a theory for a while that the backups are on a different server. When the main BGs (I think in several different servers) run out, people are switched to the backup server. I haven’t seen any evidence of there being backups (for me) for several days now so I wonder if for some reason I’m not getting routed to that server anymore. I don’t get text that says backups and I don’t get the pop up box.

I've only ever gotten the pop up box notification once - and that was a while ago - maybe one of the first times I was practicing from home. But when you say "text that says backups" you mean under the "Estimated Wait" header?

For some people (including me) My Status works better. When the Join Boarding group is red, I’d say that 90% of the time the button after My Status is clickable. It takes me 1-2 seconds to click My Status and over 15 secs to restart the app. So ion my case My Status is the much better approach.
I don’t think restarting the app is even going to be an option for me. It would be backup at best when the regular BGs are gone in 20-30 secs.

This is crazy! We were there the Friday of MLK weekend. Park opened at 7:00 am. We got BG 26, but there were still back-ups available at 7:15. I can't imagine a Wednesday in the middle of Feb is busier than Friday of a long weekend, that had a cheer competition!

Yes. I used to see Backup under Estimated Wait but don’t ever see it anymore.

Exactly my thoughts. I am travelling from Germany and I only have one day. Really worrying about not getting onto the ride.

Even if you don’t get on it, you will still have an amazing time at GE. It’s wonderful.

That seems to have been just for me this morning. Others saw BGs available longer.
But no, backup BGs are not lasting 15 mins anymore. Just a couple minutes at best. Shorter park hours, maybe more people who understand the process.

I'm only saying if when you click My Status and join is not clickable, it takes close to a minute if not more of refreshing to get it clickable for me, so in that case, the 15-20 second app restart would be faster. When in the park, you'll never know how fast that button will be available with the refresh method.

Lol, they're working towards no main groups. Well groups they are obliged to compensate anyway.

This exactly. My prediction is that they are moving toward no “guaranteed” boarding groups or backup groups. There will just be boarding groups. If they get to your group number, great, if they don’t, better luck next time.

Practicing this morning, had something I hadn't seen before... I'm at work and don't hook up to the WiFi here because it's kind of loopy. When I opened the MDE app, I didn't see the usual "My Plans" section, and I noticed a message at the bottom of the app that said "Weak or No Internet connection". I have 4 bars on LTE, so hmmmm... once I turned off WiFi on the phone, my plans were back and everything looked normal again. Couldn't join a BG by that time, so lesson learned...

“Practiced” for my first time today. Already did it for real in January but I had trouble and we ended up getting it on wives phone. Same issues today. Logged in at 7:59. Button didn’t turn red and clicking my status didn’t do it either. Went back to home screen and clicked through again and backed out and repeated and still nothing. Hard close of app and was fine when logged in. Not sure why some phones seem not to activate the buttons (iphone 11 for both me and wife) without a fresh app launch. Not going again until summer so not concerned now but definitely will need to make sure to test a few times to figure out best way for my phone. Curious if phones usually act the same from day to day or if these different behaviors are somewhat random based on connections.
