Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Attractions Planning

So if I wanted to ride the MF ride using the single rider line, what time of day would be best to do it, right at RD, mid morning, noonish? I want to get a FP for SDD or MMRR and then try to get in line for the other depending on how this looks come fall. just not sure how to plan for MF. Will try for boarding group for the RotR ride of course. Thanks for the advice.
merged you to the proper thread.
If you can wait until the last 2 hours of the park operations. The SR line does close before park closing so don't cut it too close. If you can't wait, then any time really, SR line is very popular through out the day and they do close it when it reaches the entrance to the building

Tomorrow is the big, dreaded fp launch day for MFSR. through this holiday weekend the standby line has been consistently long, shortest has been all the way to Oga's, I guess starting tomorrow it will consistently be down to the Tie echelon or even curving towards tsland. We shall see
Thre current queue is 140 minutes long

Thanks! Maybe I will revisit again closer to my trip in case the FP thing has changed things around

Looking for any recent experience using Rider Swap with RoTR? From the looks of it we will probably take 2 hours for us both to ride, provided there are no breakdowns. With such a big chunk of time there's a good chance we will miss out on a FP. Is there any leeway with your FP if this happens?

I suppose we could run over and do the FP between RoTR runs... but I think we can only hold one RS at a time, so probably couldn't get one for that ride then?

Assuming no delays, it’ll take group one anywhere from 25-60mn to get through, probably around 30-40, and group two 20-30- so probably not two hours. Group 2 gets sent through the fp line directly into the first preshow. Any huge SW fans that don’t want to miss a thing should be in group 1. Everyone needs a bg to even get riderswitch. You have two hours to return for group 1 to ride, so it probably won’t conflict with any fp- do them before going to RotR. If it will conflict though, go to a Guest Experience cast member and explain, and they should be able to change the fp for you.

What are the different roles and how should we position ourselves for the ride? We are a family of five. My boys are pretty good at video games but they're still just 10. Should DH be the pilot? (Though, let's be honest, I'm actually the safer driver between the two of us!) I'm perfectly content being the least helpful rider (engineer?) - lol. Or should that be the single rider?

The pod fits 6 so you guys are guaranteed to have all the positions. It really depends on what you want, the jobs are not really difficult, most say the best position is right pilot cause they go into lightspeed, but I love all the positions equally.

Thanks - and thanks for moving my question to the right post. :)

I agree that the jobs are not difficult but pilot is the most fun. The Gunners and Engineers have to keep looking back and forth from the screen to the wall in order to push buttons when they're supposed to. I found that not only distracting but also a little bit motion sickness inducing. Next time I ride, if I'm not Pilot I'm going to ask the CM to put my seat on automatic so that I can simply watch the screen and enjoy the ride.

The cm does not put any seat in automatic. For pilot and engineer all you do is not touch anything and the program will go to automatic after about 30 seconds of not touching
For gunner you can put it on auto aim and all you do is smash the flashing button
Also you can always ask to be pilot and wait
Now actually controlling the ride is what makes it different for me, if I didn't want to do anything I would just go on start tours ( just my opinion pob that)

Thanks for the details! Now I won't bother the CM with an unnecessary request! DH and I did get to be pilots once, and that was fun, but I doubt we'll feel we need to request it. Besides, the next time we ride we'll probably be with our grandkids, and we'll let them be the pilots!

If we're a party of 9, would we be assigned to fill one pod and then get the first three positions in the next one? Meaning, four of us would most probably be pilots?

Yeah

Thank you guys! Got on boarding 22 and it was absolutely amazing. Showed up at park at 6:45, in by 7:15. NWT friends near Indiana Jones and jumped on. Easy peasy

Just wondering since I noticed there are EMH in May at HS when we go and there are EMH tomorrow night at HS if anyone knows if ROTR is open during EMH ? How is that going to work ? More boarding groups ? Not open at all or standard line? Anyone have any clues ?

It was fine for us. The ride is mild. As long as you are not extremely sensitive I think you'll be fine too.
