It must be down for the day because the app doesn’t even list a range of groups anymore.

Well when it's a hard reset that last 2 hours they put the dashes, it's happened before but they've reopened it. Today with the time of day plus the fact that bg went in 6 minutes I'm assuming it's not reopening

I received 110 because I forgot to close and reopen the App at 8:00.

I just spoke with a cast member at ror, it is closed for rest of day, they will not call another after 108. We were 117 and were lucky to get that with a glitch with the app this morning (my kids Disney plus accounts picked up but were not linked to their bands so it thought I had two of each of my kid and didn’t think two were in the park). The ride went so well all day we were sure we’d have no issue, we were on pace to be on by like 4:30-5:00. So disappointing. The cast member said maybe next time, I said there isn’t a next time unfortunately, we had one day here.

FYI, it closes at 8:30, with 8:30-10:30 EMH (although they’ve never really used the EMH time to keep the ride open/finishing off groups).

Exactly! They told us at 4:30 when we asked that they were closing by 6:30 regardless. I said your open until 8:30, plus extra magic hours and your ride has been down an hour and you are going to close it early??

The two of us arived HS at 6:45am today via Lyft from Saratoga springs. Stayed right like everyone said and was through both checkpoints and in the park by 7. Strolled a bit and settled on a bench just outside the 'theater' on sunset Blvd. 7:50 power cycled fon. 7:59:30 opened MDE app. On Verizon network, Galaxy 10, great signal strength . At 8:00:03 tapped AtAt pic and join boarding group was red. Selected both of us and BAM...group 4!!! We were off the ride by 8:40 and off to use our first fast pass of the day. The ride is phenomenal. Absolutely sets a new bar for theme park attractions and definitely worth all the stress and planning. Couldnt have done it without the help of ALL of YOU! I hope y'all are blanketed in a blizzard of Pixie Dust! Thank You!!

Hey folks! Live from HS and just got off RotR. I read up on tips last night and secured boarding group 6 for myself (solo).

I am using a Verizon iPhone 11 with 128g storage.

• Removed all other guests from family and friends list in advance
• Left CSR room at 7:04 and called a Lyft quoted 15min
• Maybe 30-40 people in line for bus so I wouldn’t gamble
• Lyft arrived to Gran Destino tower lobby 7:21 (got dropped by drivers twice)
• Dropped off HS 7:31
• Through bag check 7:38
• Scanned into park 7:40
• Restarted my phone
• Found a nice bench on Sunset since it was calm and watched the lines grow for RnR and ToT which by 8 were being quoted like 90 min
• Turned off WiFi and ran the app Speedcheck and got about 27 pings and 40mbps download even as the lines of people started to extend past my bench close to 8
• I watched the clock change and started a stopwatch at 7:56 so I’d have a second hand
• At 7:58 opened the MDE app
• The announcement came on about boarding groups 15 seconds before 8
• When the clock reached 8 I counted about three seconds before clicking “Find Out More” as tips on here have suggested
• The red button to join a group was available and I quickly clicked join since I was the only person in my party (this is why having the correct friends and family list is best)
• Boarding group 6!
• Not many cheers but I could tell who was and wasn’t successful I would recommend a bench on Sunset since most were empty
• 3 was first and 3-7 was called at 8:12 as I was entering Galaxy’s Edge
• I scanned in at 8:15 and was off the ride by 8:35
• There were like 30 people in my group for the intro stuff and there were no issues all very smooth

All in all super easy and low stress for a single rider. If you aren’t worried about rope drop I recommend arriving late because I assume the lines to get in (car/bus and security) are longer if you arrive earlier than I did. There was pretty much no line for me to get into HS because it was past the rush I assume.

Fun ride but as someone who has only seen the original trilogy once it was just another fun ride for me but not super thrilling. Glad it went well for me and now I can enjoy my trip without worrying. Best of luck to everyone!

Off to MK for a 9:10 7DMT FP so I am glad I got an early group and didn’t have to stress about Park hopping!

I have Ben practicing a few times and I think I’m ready. Did you actually turn power off your phone at one point? What cell service do you have, everything else you stated was going to be my plan including where to chill and try for a BG at. I have Sprint and was wondering if that would be a good spot on Sunset.

Probably already covered but make 1000% sure you only have one Disney account per kid. My kids Disney plus accounts have never showed up undertaker friends and family but yesterday I made sure they had their apps and we were all linked. This morning my kids Disney plus accounts showed up and unfortunately those weren’t the ones linked to the bands. I didn’t even realize and hit select all so it was looking for 2 extra kids of mine that don’t exist and it stalled out on the are you sure everyone in your party is in the park part. I finally realized went back out and dropped everyone and tried to get another, and failed. My son however got one for a backup group somehow and not all of us we linked. Regardless we got right in to get a boarding group and would have probably had a low number but that snafu cost us huge. We had 117 and they were cruising all day And should have been on around 4:30-5:00 until it went down. Now they closed off at 108 and we are out of luck.

So they fixed the issue but stopped at 108..wouldn't let me in with 110. It was 615. Not happy

I did power cycle completely to.make sure I was registered with a nearby tower. Made sure wifi was off. Used Verizon. I did a speed test from my bench to make sure signal was strong. I'm no expert by any means, but gut tells me that the main factors were having good signal (funny: the reports I read advised to be by the theater for best signal..but when we got there I realized there are 3 theaters on sunset...lol....see pic for the one we chose.). So how bad has Tower been at RD? Our initial plan was to do what we usually do and RD Tower as many times as we can before the line gets > 10 min. (our last trip we did 7x one morning, and 6x another). We won't be there for another 2 months, but, if the current crowds persist, it sounds like we'd only get one ride in at rope drop, and we'd have to be there early and at the front of the pack to avoid a significant wait. So if that's the case, and if Star Tours is as quiet as people are reporting, then I think it makes sense to do what some here have suggested and hop on the "RD Star Tours" strategy, and swap our ST FP plans for a Tower FP. This has the added benefit of making BGs a little more relaxing as we can be sitting somewhere instead of standing at the front of the Sunset Blvd. crowd.

Awesome. Thank you! I am not tech savvy at all but it makes sense now to power off and cycle on. The anticipation is killing me, wish I was flying down tomorrow!

Sorry that you didn't get to ride today. After yesterday's good run was hoping to see it push through. Trouble with stopping anywhere is a line has to be drawn and with that people are going to be on the unwanted side.

Here’s our experience this week
Stayed CBR, was at Jamaica bus stop by 6:30. Bus arrived 6:45, through bag check and taps. by 7:20. Went to RNR rope drop line.
7:56 pulled up MDE app just kept scrolling down to refresh.
Waited until 8:00:03 to click on boarding group on Thursday we received BG 13.
Also went Saturday following same as before except rope dropped SD, received BG 12 (SD wait was less than 30 min)
For what it’s worth those 3 seconds really seem to make a difference (at least with us) people around me received higher group numbers.

A rare Post 2 update with the park still open 1.5 more hours. Ride was making great progress (around 13 BG per hour) all day until just after 4pm.

- 106 BGs were called - 51 Regular / 55 Backup
- Boarding Groups lasted 6 minutes after park opening

You have the option of each bus stop but honestly they are usually at least ten minutes out in the morning (usually dropping others off at HS haha) so it gave me enough time to get to the tower. I didn’t want to risk them getting stuck at the gate, getting lost, etc. Uber always seemed to be closer but a lot more expensive (my Lyft was $11.40 and Uber was $17). I just turned my phone off and then waited a minute before turning it back on. I switched from Sprint to Verizon because I had trouble with Sprint’s service but I’d you give yourself enough time you can wander around and run some speed tests to find a fast spot!

I know the CM is just trying to help, but yeah, for some people there isn't a "next time" (or at least not for a long time)

Any idea what star tours was like?

Not sure at rope drop. We had fast passes for between 9-10 and the regular wait was only 15 minutes so still not bad.
