“Rise” to the Challenge, FREAK!! Done and new trip report started 5/2/21

Love morning EMH too. I am always up early so I might as well make use of the time.
We always did each park every trip, now we usually stick to MK and AK
That would be an hilarious title!
::yes::
always love IASW
I enjoy one ride every trip!
I LOVE the Tiki room...it's even better with a Dole Whip!
So true!
The trolley show is another must do for me.
This puts me in such a good mood!
Oh no! I don't like the sound of that!
Oh no is right!!

What a nice morning in MK.

I love your HM photo. I know you're trying to point to your shirt but, well, it also looks like you're pointing at something else. :rotfl:

Those BoG cupcakes are tiny! Considering how big cupcakes generally are on the rest of the property, it makes them stand out event more.
It was a nice morning!
Haha 😂 I didn’t even think about that!
We literally have pictures of these cupcakes since BoG opened and man have they shrunk in size!

Agreed- we find the morning EMH at MK and AK to be the most useful.
These are two favorites of ours!
Wow she's devoted! I love hot sauce too but i don't think I'd be willing to make the trek and back lol
That girl loves her hot sauce. I am bringing her a little tiny bottle of hot sauce the next trip!
It’s bad!
I love going bagless with my sparkle skirts or cargo shorts, it's so much easier! I really with BoG would improve their food a little, the building is so beautiful but it's hard to justify the meal.
I have several sparkle skirts and the pockets are so nice! My turkey sandwich was very good but Andi’s wasn’t the best! I love the atmosphere
Extra magic hours are so great. You got so much done before the crowds ascended!!!
Love BOG for lunch!!!
I totally agree! BOG has been a favorite of mine at lunch for awhile now!
LOL

I like your bagless strategy though! Smart!
It worked like a charm this trip!
No way, Andi! Feet pictures on Peoplemover are where it's at.
I know! The girl has to get with the program!
Too bad about the handsy part, but nice that you had a nice chat with him otherwise.
I know it was totally innocent and he liked the picture on my shirt, just a little uncomfortable 🥵
Uh oh...this doesn't sound good...
It isn’t good!

What a fun morning! I tend to avoid EMH because the hour goes so quickly and I haven't had good luck with low crowds for these days.
It sure has changed, hasn’t it?
You're a good person, Caroline
Ahh Thank you ☺️
I love the OKW pool…it's where Nicholas learned how to swim underwater so it holds a really special place in my heart.

Oops…good thing you got it in while you could!
Those type of memories are so precious. I remember using the quiet pool at PO Riverside when Andi was around 10 and we had so much fun. I was teaching her all the swimming moves I had learned in school, she loved it.🥰 Now she won’t even go in a pool, ugh!
Our quiet time was soon ending!

A delightful evening in AK

After a nice relaxing 😎 afternoon, it was time to visit AK. We had FP this evening for Dinosaur, Safari, and FoP. We entered the park around 4pm and it was time for our FoP FP.

In line, we started talking to a family. This was there first ride and the little girl was scared. I told her how much I like it and I am a true ride chicken. We told her to close her eyes if something wasn’t to her liking. Her mom was worried about motion sickness. I told her it helps to focus on one thing if she has a problem. I was going to tell her, one of my Dis friends rode it and she is a huge chicken!! Looking at you Jenny, haha 😂 We had a wonderful ride and the mom and daughter loved it! A few scenes were a little intense per mom but overall, they said it was amazing!

We walked around some before our Dinosaur FP. I’m not sure why I don’t have many pictures from this evening. I must have been really slacking. We rode Dinosaur and our picture didn’t show up this time. I think this is the only picture we were missing this trip, so not bad.

It was Safari time and it was getting dark out, more like the golden hour, we could still see fine, however, the Safari was a little boring this time around. We didn’t see to many animals. The elephants and zebras were not out at all. Just when I was thinking, this Safari is not to exciting, the lions started roaring! It was so cool! They were really active and the male was really making so much noise. It was a first for us! I’m really glad we experienced this.

We decided to try Nomads again for dinner. The park was closing at 8pm tonight. It was around 7pm. We found a table out on the veranda, however, it was dirty. It took the waitress about 15 minutes to clean it off and acknowledge us. She was busy and closing out quite a few tables. Andi was getting hangry! Once she came over and took our order, Andi was less irritable 😡

I tried the Annapurna Zing. I was channeling @kastoney Kari! I normally do not care much for Gin but this was really good. The combination of the passion fruit purée, lime, mint, and ginger beer worked well together. I let Andi try it and she liked it as well. She may have just liked it because it had alcohol in it. 🍹

We liked what we had last time and ordered the same food. I had the Smoked Pork Ribs with the sweet soy glaze.

Andi had the Impossible Sliders with the yucca fries.

We enjoyed both. My ribs were a little on the dry side this time. Last time, the ribs were better. These were still very tender and the sauce is so good. Andi’s sliders were delicious. We had to get the awesome house made churros. These are amazing. Try them if you can!! So delicious with the two sauces. A vanilla cream and chili strawberry one. Yummy!

This was a nice relaxing evening, it is always a delightful time at AK.

The park was now closed and we paid our bill and headed out. It is nice to walk out of a quiet park, doesn’t happen much.

We got back to OKW and settled in for the night.

Nomad Lounge= $57.99

Total food cost for Day 4 = $95.76

Coming up soon Day 5, Epcot and a couple Dis meets!

My mom is coming to stay with me on Monday for a couple weeks. I am hoping to update as much as I can but it maybe less. I would like to give a little pre trip update for our March trip. I will do that soon. I have never had a TR still going on when I left for another trip.:scared1: I don’t think this one will be done by the time we go. I hope to get Day 5 up tomorrow night! Wish me luck! :wizard:

That sounds like a perfect evening in AK.

My husband could have used someone like you when he took the girls on FoP. They got pretty freaked out that they had to be "decontaminated" in the preshow and it only went down from there.

Just when I was thinking, this Safari is not to exciting, the lions started roaring! It was so cool! They were really active and the male was really making so much noise. It was a first for us! I’m really glad we experienced this.

Awesome! I guess it would be nice to book an evening safari after all!

this.

I'm in the same boat, only my ongoing TR is from last April. I am going to try and finish it up before we leave March 15th ::yes::

That is an amazing experience with the lions! So glad you got to experience that. :)

I love Nomads! I've only ever eaten on the veranda, I just love the vibe out there. :goodvibes Your food looks great...I must try the churros with Jack this summer.

That family was lucky that you were there before FoP to help ease their minds. I'm glad they enjoyed it!

Neat that you got to see the lions so active on the evening safari! I agree that our experiences in the evening haven't been as exciting overall with fewer animals out, but seeing the lions more in their element is a really cool reason to do it at night.

Your Nomad dinner looked good! I always get the same drink you got just without the alcohol, and I love that combination of flavors! <3

We had FP this evening for Dinosaur, Safari, and FoP
FoP is getting pretty darned hard to get a FP for...
I was going to tell her, one of my Dis friends rode it and she is a huge chicken!! Looking at you Jenny, haha 😂

Isn't that cool! I've been on one where that's happened.

That just means you're going just often enough. ;)

It was so cool, there is just something about a roaring lion 🦁

I’m trying but don’t think I will be done!

Yes, it will be fun with your son and the churros are amazing 😉

I hope our advice helped, I think it did!
The lions roaring was quite the experience. I loved it!
The drink really was good I’m glad I tried it!
The churros are gluten free!!

FoP is getting pretty darned hard to get a FP for...
I could only get 1 for our March trip, which I am thankful for
Or maybe... you were just enjoying yourself?
I really was, it was a lovely evening
Isn't that cool! I've been on one where that's happened.
Very cool! It is a little eerie listening to the 🦁
Thanks for the tip!
Best churros I have ever had!
That just means you're going just often enough.
This next trip is coming up fast!

Hello Everyone!

Today was Day 5, Saturday 1/18/20

Epcot was our park of choice this morning. We didn’t rush this morning and made it to the park by 9am. Security was a breeze in the no bag line, yay! I saw a photo opportunity right as we walked in and we did this.

We had FP scheduled this am for FEA, SE, and Nemo. Frozen was our first ride and Andi refused to go on. 😟 She is a stubborn girl and got wet the last couple times and wasn’t having anything to do with it. :guilty: I went on by myself and really enjoyed it. I think it is a very cute ride and I didn’t get wet!
IMG_Mar12020at83527PM.jpg
IMG_Mar12020at51618PM.jpg
We headed back to the Future World area since WS wasn’t open yet. It was time for SE. I love this ride and will really miss it as it gets a huge refurbishment! I hope it will be as awesome as its former self!

After SE, I planned to meet up with Renee and Chad. I picked up the 45 year celebration COP pins for each of them and wanted to deliver the pins to them. They were snacking close to Mexico. We said Hi 👋 and talked for a little bit. I didn’t want to bother them to much because they were eating with their boys. We said our goodbyes. Here is what the pin looks like and inside it John from COP is in there. Andi also got the Space Mountain pin.
IMG_Mar12020at50725PM.jpg
Andi put her pins on a cork board and they look so nice!
IMG_Mar12020at51144PM.jpg
Now it was time for Andi and I to try a few snacks from FArts🤣

Our mission was to try the vegetarian options. We decided to try the plant based bratwurst at the outpost. It had a spicy turmeric aioli, coffee barbecue jackfruit and slaw. We both enjoyed this. I thought the flavors all worked well together. I liked the texture of the bratwurst. It didn’t have any fat or grisly pieces in it. We shared this.
IMG_Mar12020at83346PM.jpg
We continued walking around and stopped in America for the Musical Float. This was a layered strawberry, Lemonade, and Blu Raspberry slushy with vanilla ice cream and a white chocolate decoration. This was really good and refreshing. We sat and sipped on this before moving on to Japan 🇯🇵
IMG_Mar12020at83310PM.jpg
The vegetable gyoza was next on the list. This was vegetable and edamame filled dumpling. The dumpling sat on truffle mashed potatoes and a shiitake mushroom. These little dumplings were deliciously flavorful. The potatoes and mushroom tasted good except they could have been warmer. I could have just had a plate of the goyza and been really happy with this. Sadly, we never got back for more, I was hoping to.

It was time for us to go and do our last FP at The Seas. We enjoyed the ride as always. Crush is such a dude!!

We decided to head out of the park at the International Gateway and take a ride on the Skyliner. As we were walking towards the Gateway, we stopped to watch an amazing musician. He played the Harp with a real modern flare. He was mesmerizing to watch!

As we turned to leave, we ran right into Molly! This was perfect timing. It was so nice to see her. We visited for a bit and made plans to meet up on Sunday. It was fun to see my roommate from the Epic trip!

Andi and I took a nice ride in the sky. We made the circle to HS, it was fun and relaxing. Once we landed at HS, we didn’t go in the park at this time. We went to OKW bus stop and headed back to the resort for a rest.
IMG_Mar12020at83226PM.jpg
This did not happen because a very loud family moved into the 1 bedroom next to us. Now, I don’t mind a little excitement and playing around but this was ridiculous. The kids were screaming at the top of their lungs, jumping on furniture, banging the furniture into the walls and pounding on our door, which was attached to their room. This was really bad. We went over and asked them to bring it down some and this did not work at all. We decided to just leave, we couldn’t take it and there was no way we would get a nap in today. This was really frustrating to both of us. We cherish our afternoon chill time and that was impossible now.

We had a reservation at Ale and Compass for dinner later so we went back to Epcot and walked around.

Stay tune for our dinner at YC and our time at HS.

We left Epcot and walked around the BC area, we ended up playing ping pong for a little while. Spoiler, we both suck at it. Haha 😂

We looked around the BC before heading into the YC. We checked in at the restaurant and we were seated fairly quickly.
IMG_Mar12020at80517PM.jpg
We did have a small two-top right next to a family of 4. They were finishing up and left shortly after we sat down. This was nice to have the area to ourselves for a little bit. Neither one of us were that hungry so we ordered off the appetizer menu. Andi had the buffalo style cauliflower. This is very good. Very nice flavor with a cool ranch dressing for dipping.
IMG_Mar12020at80718PM.jpg
I again channeled Kari and tried the Applewood-smoked Bacon Flatbread. This has caramelized onion, gruyere and arugula. This was a winner. The flavors all went very well together. The arugula added a nice pepper crunch. I loved this, yummy 🤤
IMG_Mar12020at80623PM.jpg
We had a very nice waitress, she was earning her ears! She was attentive just enough if you know what I mean.

We settled our bill and went outside to take the boat over to HS.

It was a packed boat. I had made a 4th FP for TSMM. I also thought it was an EMH night. Unfortunately, I looked at the date wrong and it was not. We did have fun in TSL. It really wasn’t to busy. I think most people were getting spots for the fireworks. We rode TSMM twice and AS2 1x.

We sat down at Woody’s Lunchbox and tried the seasonal blueberry lemon tart. This was really good. We do like the “pop tarts” here.
IMG_Mar12020at80825PM.jpg
We enjoyed this and were a little bummed out there wasn’t an extra magic hour tonight. We didn’t want to go back to our room. It was that bad there!! We wandered around a little more but the park was actually closed now. Pictures before we left.

IMG_Mar12020at81055PM.jpg
We went back to the room and the noise was still unbearable. Andi went for a walk because she couldn’t take it. I called the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. She was nice and agreed to come over and talk to the loud people. It was already after 10pm and we had an early morning at HS the next day and really wanted to settle in and sleep. Around 11pm it was quieter, thank goodness! I didn’t sleep very well because of all this. I was traumatized! :crazy2:  Wake up was going to be early at 5:15.

See you all real soon for our early morning at DHS were we rise to the challenge!!
