Yes she is all moved out. She is not happy. Half of her dorm is now in my living room. Her first online class is tomorrow morning at 8am and it's a video chat. Should be interesting.
Please tell her I am so sorry. I can't imagine how disappointed she is. I'm trying to remain optimistic about Allie and her classmates but it's getting harder. At least today, during a news conference, the head of education in Texas MENTIONED "May and June". (Of course, Allie got her MAY graduation invitations in the mail yesterday ) In my opinion, that would be the way to go IF we can all get a handle on this thing in April. Gov. Abbott stressed over and OVER again to PLEASE follow the federal guidelines and maintain "social distance" and/or STAY HOME unless your a health care worker, law enforcement, truck driver...essential worker. He's not issuing a state shutdown...yet. Good common sense was used when he said the rural counties (as in US) don't have to be in total "shut down" but the larger cities (Houston, San Antonio, Dallas) may have to since the cases are numerous in them. Where are you going to store everything??? JUST when you get your living room the way you want it, it gets filled with "dorm furniture"! Are they going to do live "chat" classes or is the first video chat just one to answer any questions the students may have? Wish her luck and again, give her a hug!
