Where In The World 21. We are now completely legal!!!

Yes she is all moved out.:sad1: She is not happy. :sad:Half of her dorm is now in my living room. :headache: Her first online class is tomorrow morning at 8am and it's a video chat. Should be interesting.

😥 Please tell her I am so sorry. I can't imagine how disappointed she is. I'm trying to remain optimistic about Allie and her classmates 😣 but it's getting harder. At least today, during a news conference, the head of education in Texas MENTIONED "May and June". (Of course, Allie got her MAY graduation invitations in the mail yesterday 😒) In my opinion, that would be the way to go IF we can all get a handle on this thing in April. Gov. Abbott stressed over and OVER again to PLEASE follow the federal guidelines and maintain "social distance" and/or STAY HOME unless your a health care worker, law enforcement, truck driver...essential worker. He's not issuing a state shutdown...yet. Good common sense was used when he said the rural counties (as in US) don't have to be in total "shut down" but the larger cities (Houston, San Antonio, Dallas) may have to since the cases are numerous in them. Where are you going to store everything??? :faint: JUST when you get your living room the way you want it, it gets filled with "dorm furniture"! 🙃 Are they going to do live "chat" classes or is the first video chat just one to answer any questions the students may have? Wish her luck and again, give her a hug! :tink:

Attraction, shop or food service?

This is associated with an attraction. :tink:

I guess two of her classes are live chats. Today was a lot of questions and answers. They are trying to decide what they're going to do about the labs and surgical rotations. They are supposed to be doing large animal labs but they can't get to the barns to do them and the clinic is closed so they can't do the surgical rotations. They have to decide what to do. Then they have to decide on the VTNE testing that you have to take to become certified. They are not offering the testing now with all that's going on. You can't apply to take it until after you graduate and most places want you to be certified before they will hire you. They don't know what they're going to do about diplomas yet since there is no graduation date set.

well I am working from home now

well actually my mom house lol there is no way I can work from my house with two kids always wanting attention lol

we have pulled James and Ella both out of daycare now even they Emily is a nurse and we get a leg up on on daycare because she is an essential service we just feel more comfortable with them at home with Emily mom who comes over and watches them while she is at work. My mom is also going to watch them at our house a few times during the week to help out for now.

For now I am still working but we will see how long that might last in the next few weeks or so

Well, I guess the good news is that you still have a job and can still get a paycheck. I would be so distracted working at home.

That's going to be difficult; they'll NEED "hands on" surgery experience and Lord knows how long everything will be closed. 😒 Sounds like her life will be totally "oh hold" for the foreseeable future. 😪 That's tough...do vets do "elective surgery" in the first place :confused3 or are all the surgeries they COULD work on classified "emergency". :confused3 I think I'll text my cousin later and ask her how her vet husband is handling things. I can only imagine how many questions the students have! Keep the faith that a later graduation ceremony will be held.

On the "bright" side on this end...Katie Beth , yes KATIE BETH :faint: was the first student in the entire 8th grade math class of her teacher to turn in the first homework assignment! 😲🥴 She actually finished it yesterday (online classes "officially" started last Friday") and she got a message from her teacher with a "thumbs up" for being #1 to complete! party::tink:

Wow, I am so behind with all this virus craziness. Worse than any hurricane I ever encountered. People are hording everything, even trash bags! It is crazy, stores have nothing.

I've been wondering where you where! I'm assuming you had to cancel your spring break trip to FW, right? This IS crazy; I'm shocked it's gotten as bad as it is. What a fool I was assuming everyone would "take a deep breath and remain calm"! 🥴 David's been able to find most of what we need (including toilet paper but that was the first Saturday after we returned from the Grand Canyon) by going to the smaller stores as soon as they open. Between our 2 daughters and us, he's almost making daily stops; today's "item list" he couldn't locate was green grapes for Allie. 😏 The girls have started online schooling and actually being pretty good about the self-isolation. They were just so thankful to get out of Vegas on time and arrive home safe they haven't complained...yet. Katie argued a little about the chance to do a 3 person dance class but Sara stayed firm since we've traveled. One of Allie's classmates had a "temper tantrum" when her mother clamped down and isolated last Monday but things have been going okay so far. Hope all is well with you and your family. Keep checking on supplies, you'll get lucky one of these days! :tink:

Good solution to the work at home thing...I totally understand how you'd get NOTHING done at home! :rotfl: God bless Emily for her nursing skills and ability to continue working; many hugs to her and her fellow workers. This is such a trying time for the health care industry, they need our love and understanding...and virtual hugs...:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:! Thank goodness you have your Mom's to help; I wouldn't want my children in a day care situation now either if at all possible. We all have to "hang in there" and do what we can to help one another. At least your Mom's get to spend time with their grandchildren :goodvibes; I haven't gotten hugs from mine for 10 days since we're staying away from one another. 😢 :tink:
